I got into a Bluegreen meeting because I was genuinely interested in how timeshares worked, but the whole pitch ended up being incredibly high-pressure and manipulative. The sales reps were charming,... See more

Terrible.
Blue Green vacation sucks. My wife and I paid for a package back on presidents day, and got a 'special deal'. We upgraded a stay in a Log Cabin in the Smoky Mountain in July, but circumstances came up, and we had to cancel. The company agent told me that she would look to find me the next best alternative, but claimed that air bnb or Campground of America is not in their network. Why not???? You said you could get the next best thing. I then called today to schedule a hotel stay if we absolutely couldn't get one of the upgraded stays that I paid for. The agent then told me that my credit score wasn't high enough to qualify for the program, so she informed me that my program was cancelled (even though I had already paid)! In this economy, you're not going to find people with a high credit score, but we do have the money to pay for the package, so why should the credit score be an issue? Furthermore, we received no notification in writing that our policy had been cancelled, so I feel like this is a cheap trick to discriminate against consumers.
I'm a hard working American, and unless I'm applying for a loan, there is no reason this company has any business judging me by my credit score. You people have no business making sales pitches and promises that you can't deliver to your customers! If I see you at any location, I'm going to boycott anyone trying to go over to your booth because you screw people!
0 out of 5 stars
0 out of 5 stars. Absolutely terrible. Put us up in Creekstone Inn, and when we discovered the rooms were filled with mold, they refused to relocate us to a different hotel or care about health concerns.
During the time share meeting, lots of promises were made that if we decided against buying into their lies, we'd be free to go. Instead, they refused to respect our "No", and we had to practically pry their hands off of us so we could leave. This was followed by the salesman pouting like a child not getting their favorite candy.
Truly terrible experience. No concern for people's health or comfort.
Warning to all who are considering…
Warning to all who are considering buying a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations. Please take
my experience as a cautionary tale. What was presented as an easy, beneficial way to travel
quickly turned into an unsustainable financial nightmare.
●
Hidden annual maintenance fees: Was told the only extra costs would be hotel room
taxes, but was later hit with $1,400 in recurring annual maintenance fees, which only go
up by a large amount every year.
●
Ignored buy-back inquiries: Reached out 6 to 7 months ago to start a buy-back process,
but my requests have gone completely unanswered. The sales team told us such a
program exists, but no one has responded to our inquiry.
●
Zero flexibility during major life changes: No support or options even when facing costly
medical care for ongoing kidney issues or personal life events like divorce.
●
Lack of transparency upfront: Friendly sales pitch during purchase, followed by zero
professionalism or help when issues arise.
Save yourself the stress, headache, and financial burden. Think twice before getting locked into this agreement.
Still waiting on the written termination they promised us
Bluegreen told me directly that my contract was terminated and that official paperwork confirming it would be sent to me, but I still haven’t received a single thing in writing. This whole mess started with a promotional stay that turned into a high-pressure sales pitch. They talked me into upgrading with false promises about travel benefits and bonus points that never materialized. The maintenance fees just kept going up while the points went unused or expired. Then, while I was actively disputing these billing issues and trying to get answers, they turned my account over to Pinnacle Recovery. All I want is out. If my contract was actually terminated like they said, where is the paperwork?
Huge mistake! Please don’t fall for it!
I really regret buying a timeshare with Bluegreen. I went to a presentation back in May 2022 right after going through a tough divorce, and I had my 1 year-old daughter with me. I was exhausted and just wanted to go home, but they kept sending different people over to my table, lowering the price and the points until I finally just said yes so we could leave. They promised me it would be super easy to book vacations, but it's the exact opposite. I barely have enough points to actually stay anywhere, and finding available places is incredibly hard. I've only been able to use it once. Since I realized it doesn't work for me and contacted Bluegreen to cancel it, they have just been giving me the runaround. Their reps keep emailing me to set up phone appointments, and then they ghost me and never call when they're supposed to. I’ve even reported them to the Business Consumer Alliance as well to bring awareness. It feels like they are just playing games and wasting my time thinking I'll just give up. Do yourself a favor, save your money, and stay far away from Bluegreen.
bluegrass Myrtle Beach
I bought the three day vacation from one of their centers in Bass Pro shop. When we arrived at Kingston plantation Embassy suites we were placed in the south Hampton building. We did not even have a trashcan in the bathroom only one in the bedroom area. I was told it would be $100 per night for incidentals like parking. The parking was open air parking lot. It was not even a garage. We were not given vouchers for breakfast. In the drawers in the hotel room were faucets from them, changing out the faucets and old pictures from them changing the pictures on the wall. They didn’t clean the room one time while we were here. When I called to say something about it they said that this was an owners room and that’s why they didn’t clean our offer anything. When I went to the sales presentation, I told them and they had me fill out a form like they were going to take care of it nothing was done. I called in to explain what was going on and was told that they would take off $84 of my incidental by $300 incidental and they would bring me blankets and empty the trash not a very good experience
Total scam bought the sample package…
Total scam bought the sample package and was never able to use it out $2500 ask for an extension so that I could actually use the points and it was an absolute no don’t do it
Unfair Timeshare
Bluegreen approached us while we were out shopping, offering a quick weekend trip if we listened to a short presentation. That presentation turned into hours of exhausting and very high pressure sales. They completely misled us about the actual costs. Our maintenance fees spiked almost right away, jumping way higher than the estimates we were shown during the pitch. The points sold us are so restricted that they barely even cover a single weekend stay every other year. Ever since then, Bluegreen refuses to address our concerns or take responsibility. Do not purchase timeshare form Bluegreen Vacations.

Say yes to the reviews, take their money. Say no to more points. Use the money to pre pay points

Deeply disappointed and stuck looking for a way out of Bluegreen Ownership poured a lot of cash into Bluegreen…
We poured a lot of cash into Bluegreen with nothing more than a dream of building fun family memories together. For years we stuck with it, even shelling out for a Platinum upgrade after being cornered with scare tactics about Hilton buying out and us losing everything.
Ever since April, we’ve been trying to reason with Bluegreen, going back and forth and explaining our situation with total transparency. Our life changed completely after Mark endured a severe fall and subsequent back surgeries. He is now completely confined to a power chair. We reached out to Bluegreen over and over, informing them that we simply need to part ways because their resorts are inaccessible for us. Despite claiming they are ADA compliant, the doors are too narrow, there are no walk-in showers, and my husband can't even get around or enjoy the properties we are paying for. On top of that, Mark is now on a fixed income due to disability, and the maintenance fees have become entirely out of sight.
Instead of showing any grace, understanding, or willingness to help us considering our real medical hardships, Bluegreen’s responses have been purely transactional. First, they told us we couldn't discuss anything until our massive mortgage loan was paid off, only offering useless resale or trading programs. When we pressed further, they threw an outrageous exit quote at us totaling over $73,000 just to walk away from the membership we can no longer use, or nonchalantly proposed we default on our payments before they could just take the property back and ruin our credit.
We have always honored our commitments, but this treatment is heartbreaking. Dealing with health crises deserves compassion, not rigid corporate walls and inescapable financial hurdles. We just want a fair, reasonable exit so our family can close this chapter, put this behind us, and move forward.
Promised a call but ignored, We just want out of our Bluegreen contract
We are leaving this review because Bluegreen completely ignores us. They requested I call them back and tell them a good time to call, in which I did multiple times, and always got their voicemail. Wenever got a call or any connection from them after that. We left multiple voicemails for different representatives and sent several emails, but nobody answers or follows up.
After 15 years, we cannot afford this anymore. The rising maintenance fees are putting us into debt and draining our savings. We have three kids, two in college, and cannot pay for something we can't use. Vacations are always booked up, so we never get the trips we were promised. The salespeople lied to us, pressured us to buy more points, and their suggestion to sell through Pinnacle went nowhere.
We just want a way out. It is wrong that we can't sell this back or cancel it. Stop ignoring our calls and emails. We need Bluegreen to contact us, cancel our ownership, and refund our money.
SHADY SHADY SHADY!
SHADY SHADY SHADY.
Choice Hotels redirected me to them, and they made it sound like you had to have your credit card on file to be able to use your choice hotels privliges. Hop on the phone and next thing i know i get a confirmation of my vacation nights including the charge they ran on my debit card. Honestly, this is shady of them, as well as Choice Hotels. I wonder if Choice even knows how awful people like this makes them look. Guess ill choose other hotels to stay with, and file a chargeback on these shady D-bags.
Stay away from Bluegreen Vacations. This complaint is to warn everyone of…
This complaint is to warn everyone of Bluegreen Vacations for misrepresentation and financial
harm. We paid significant money based on explicit promises made during the sales
presentation, but none were fulfilled. We did not receive the product or service we were
promised, and the reality of the timeshare is completely different from what was sold to us. What
they informed us apparently was different from what’s on the contract. By the way, it’s many,
many pages, tiny writing, and long papers. They expected us to read all that in a short amount
of time! During the sales pitch, the representatives explicitly told us that buying this timeshare
was a solid investment that would appreciate in value over time like traditional real estate. This
was untrue. Additionally, they told us our maintenance fees would never increase. In reality, the
maintenance fees continuously rise and create a financial burden we cannot afford. The ongoing
experience has been frustrating. Scheduling is nearly impossible due to a severe lack of
availability. Because I do not own a high number of points, I only have access to leftover slots
that often result in no availability because everything is already booked. On one occasion, I
arrived at a resort after receiving a booking confirmation, only to be told that no reservation
existed. Furthermore, removing my late wife's name from the deed was burdensome and
required paying a $500 fee. That’s crazy!
The financial strain of this unfulfilled contract is severe. The proposed fee to terminate our
account equals 30 months of maintenance fees! This amount is unreasonable and unaffordable.
Bluegreen Vacations used high-pressure tactics to sell us false promises, and they continue to
demand escalating fees for a product we cannot use. Stay away from Bluegreen!
Got suckered into 3 night 4 day stay
Got suckered into 3 night 4 day stay, ( which we chose San Antonio TX.), that also supposedly included a week long cruise.
Jessica at Bass Pro, (San Jose, Ca.), did a great job selling the product. We were just the suckers that bought into it. When I called to make hotel reservations, everything changed. The location that we were assured was false. No “Hilton” hotels were part of the package. Only Home 2 Suites, and the one by the Riverwalk, we had to pay an upgrade fee. Well, this went on for about a half hour with false information. I called Jessica at Bass Pro and said she was full of crap. “Sorry you feel that way”, is all she could say.
Bass Pro is ruining there reputation by partnering with Bluegreen. They need to break there ties with them. I did get a refund.
Stop Offering Us Options, We Just Want Out!
Bluegreen keeps offering alternative options that do not work for us, and nothing has changed. We don't want temporary fixes or more sales talk, We just want a complete way out of our contract.
When we signed up, a promotional offer turned into a high-pressure sales pitch full of false promises about air travel, flexibility, and an easy exit. A representative even showed his personal bank account to convince us. None of it was true. We are stuck with rising maintenance fees, booking restrictions, extra costs, and mortgage payments for something we can't use. With medical issues, a fixed income, and a struggling business, we can't carry this burden. Stop pointing to fine print and let us end this contract.
What a terrible experience!
What a terrible experience. We signed up and paid for the promotional 3 day vacation at BasPro. We eventually had to do the 3 days at Hotel - Lodge At Shenandoah Crossing or loose the payment that we had already made. To do this my wife chose to take a friend who was willing to travel with her and sit through the presentation as I had to stay home to care for our dog as the Hotel is not pet friendly. They booked them in at the hotel and my wife explained that I couldn't make it - she paid more money required for the hotel booking, no problem. The next morning arriving for the presentation things went absolutely insane. The staff started shouting at my wife because we signed a contract and I have not joined her. They were so aggressive and disrespectful telling her that she forfeits all the benefits that we paid for, for the stay. My wife's friend respectfully asked what can be done to redeem the situation. The staff member retorted aggressively that they needed to leave or pay the full rates for the stay. My wife's friend said fine here are my credit card details - the staff member was so disorientated that she couldn't even get the details down. Added to this was how terrible the Hotel accommodation was - no sufficient amount of plug outlets in the room, the room phone didn't work, cobwebs, the room lacked basic maintenance, empty shower soap dispensers and when reported to the front desk - no room care. Absolutely, unprofessional sales, hotel management and hospitality.
Bluegreen Vacations-Bluegreen is greedy!
I talked with Bluegreen customer service recently about cancelling my account and ending my contracts. They told me that to exit, I have to pay two full years of maintenance fees, even though I was current. That is completely impossible for me. I am a retired teacher living on a fixed income, and my husband passed away two years ago. Every single year the maintenance fees go up by a huge amount, which is why Bluegreen ownership is not feasible or sustainable anymore. Giving back properties I already paid for in full should not cost me two additional years of fees. With that impossible option, I chose to stop paying Bluegreen altogether. Let's hope that will make them want to cancel me.
Not what it seems ...
Don’t let them fool you into buying a timeshare. Buying into Bluegreen is like falling for an incredibly expensive magic trick where the illusion of flexible vacations vanishes the second you sign the contract. They will tell you that it’s easy to book trips and that fees will be minimal but it’s simply not true. Unless you can map out your life a solid year in advance, you will never get a room at the resorts you actually want to visit. Bluegreen uses these issues as a way to sell you on upgrades. just book a regular hotel.
Bluegreen Timeshare Creates Hardship not Happiness
Here is the reality when dealing with Bluegreen:
1. High-pressure sales tactics: During presentations, multiple representatives tag-team to push
the deal, appealing to your emotions and talking over one another. They heavily stress
limited-time promotions to cloud your judgment and dismiss any request to take time to think it
over, completely ganging up on potential buyers.
2. Severe financial hardship: Annual maintenance fees steadily climb each year, which,
combined with the ongoing monthly payments, turns owning one of their timeshares into an
overwhelming financial burden.
3. Deceptive and confusing points structure: Despite their promises of worldwide travel, there
are never enough points available to book a stay where or when you actually want. The points
provided are practically unusable, yet you cannot roll over or save unused points without paying
an extra fee.
4. Misleading claims about the Hilton merger: They made false claims regarding perks such as
Hilton Honors access and using points for hotel bookings. After being told our initial points were
sufficient to join Hilton Honors, we were later informed we lacked enough points and had to
purchase more.
5. Subpar accommodations: The property quality falls short. For instance, a recent stay in New
Orleans felt like a quick cosmetic fix rather than a properly maintained space, looking cheap and
well below expected standard
