On arrive avec des amis j'avais rempli avec ma carte d'identité mais pas mon permis de conduire on voulait mettre celui d'un ami.
Le mec de la réception me demande ma carte de payement et me dit pas possible de prendre ça c'est pas une carte de crédit. Je cherche ma Revolut pareil, on était 10 amis personnes avaient une carte de crédit et il me répétait que je devais avoir la carte de paiement à nom comme la résa est à mon nom. Il n'a pas proposé de solution, restait silencieux, pas du tout compréhensif. J'avais fais une réservation pour 4j à 57€ on a du l'annuler (je n'ai pas été remboursée évidemment) et reprendre une réservation au nom d'un de nos copains qui a trouvé une de ses cartes digitales de crédit, on a repayé pour la même voiture 138€..
Vraiment l'arnaque je recommande pas du tout !.. Pas sympa, pas compréhensif, je me suis dis "mais si j'avais été seule" le mec m'aurait laissé là sans solution..
Mais j'aurai du regardé les avis ça m'aurait alertée..

Das sind nur Abzocker ich habe für 4 Tage in Neapel einen Fiat Panda gebucht und bei der returgabe sagte er sei eine delle im rechten Türe forne und das sei schlimm aber di delle vahr schon beim abholen und es war leicht und in der foto kaum zu erkennen der schaden hat er auf 633euro abgezogen auf meine Kreditkarte das sind richtige bertruger tuent billig vermieten und nachher hast du das gesenk

**Extremely disappointing experience with RentSmart24 at Bergamo Airport.**

We had booked an Opel Corsa or similar, including a child seat, through DiscoverCars for 8–11 October 2026.

Unfortunately, our flight was delayed. As soon as we landed, we immediately tried to call RentSmart24 several times, but nobody answered.

When we finally arrived, we were told that our reservation had been cancelled, that the car was no longer available, and that we had lost the money already paid.

Travelling with a small child, we had little choice but to accept a new rental agreement. We were told that their Premium insurance was mandatory and could not be declined.

**We ended up paying €204.50**, significantly more than the original booking.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that they then gave us an Opel Corsa, already prepared with a child seat — exactly the type of vehicle we had originally booked!

And the problems did not end there.

At collection, a member of staff explicitly advised us **not to refill the fuel tank before returning the car**, explaining that the vehicle would be returned to the parent company and that we would only be charged for the fuel consumed, at **€1.99 per litre**.

We followed their instructions, only to discover additional fuel-related charges afterwards, including a refuelling service fee that had never been explained to us.

To make matters worse, we were also charged **€36.60 for extra cleaning**.

Nobody had told us that the car needed to be professionally washed before being returned. There were only a few empty bottles left inside, which we would have gladly removed if someone had shown us where to dispose of them.

I fully understand that a rental car should be returned in reasonable condition, but I do not consider it acceptable to impose additional charges without clear explanations.

**What was supposed to be an affordable rental turned into a series of unexpected costs and unpleasant surprises.**

I have requested a detailed explanation of the fuel calculation, the additional charges, and the cleaning fee.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend RentSmart24. I strongly advise other customers to get every verbal promise in writing and carefully check all charges before signing anything.

Contratamos el alquiler con seguro a todo riesgo dada la caótica forma de conducir en Sicilia. Han pasado dos semanas desde la devolución del coche y la asunción por parte de la empresa que se procedía al reembolso del depósito de 100 € y todavía no se ha realizado el abono, ni responden a sucesivos mails enviados. Tendré que proceder a acciones legales. Qué poco rigor contratar un servicio, pagarlo y estar obligado a denunciarlo.

All'arrivo l'operatore Daniele è stato gentile, cortese e molto professionale.
Stessa cosa ha fatto la sua collega Giulia al momento della riconsegna dell'autovettura.
Auto in ottime condizioni e nuova.

Vi blev opkrævet ekstraordinær rengøring af bagsædet på 200 euro, på trods af at vi af flere omgange forklarede at vi var 2 personer som på intet tidspunkt havde bagsæderne slået op da vi medbragte odd size bagage som ikke kunne være i bilen med mindre bagsæderne var slået ned.
Vi blev yderligere opkrævet for en skade som vi ikke havde lavet.
Sørg for at filme alt indvendig og udvendigt når i afleverer, hvis i vælger dette firma.

A fuir absolument!! Ne jamais louer une voiture à ces escrocs. J'ai rendu la voiture en parfait état, l'employé a pris la clé et après avoir déverrouillé le véhicule il a aussitôt mis cette clé dans la serrure. Elle ne rentrait pas. Aucune trace d'effraction bien sûr. J'ai été débité de 523 euros sur ma caution pour un soit disant dégât!! Ils doivent faire ce manège à chaque fois et ça marche car vous n'avez aucun moyen de discuter ils se payent sur la caution au final.
De l'escroquerie bien organisée!!

Wie schon von vielen vor uns geschrieben: Sie wollten uns das Auto nicht geben, weil wir nur eine Debit Card bei einer "Virtuellen Bank" hatten. Dann mussten wir eine Versicherung abschließen, die teurer als das Auto selbst war, sonst hätten wir das Auto nicht bekommen. Diese Masche wird anscheinend benutzt um mehr Geld aus dem billigen Mietwagen zu generieren. Geschehen am Bergamo Flughafen. Der Wagen selbst war nicht gut geputzt und komplett verschrammt. Nie wieder!

We arrived at Sicily Airport after unavoidable delays — one due to a medical issue with our pilot at Manchester, and another due to heavy queues at passport control following volcanic ash disruption. When we reached Rent24 Smart, we were told our hire agreement had “expired” because we were outside a one‑hour collection window. This rule was never made clear when booking through their broker, Planet Rentals.Despite the car still being available, the staff member refused to honour the original booking and insisted we pay the full price again. He was rude, abrupt, unhelpful, and extremely smug throughout the interaction. Instead of offering any support or understanding, he told us to “contact the broker” and made it clear he had no interest in resolving the situation.We left the airport in a taxi, upset and out of pocket, and had to fight to get our money back through the broker. Rent24 Smart showed no flexibility, no customer care, and no professionalism.Avoid this company. Their attitude and behaviour were unacceptable, and their unclear policies leave customers vulnerable to losing their money.

Esperienza negativa. Autovetture con interni sporchi. Parlo al plurale perché assegnata la prima, sostituita per sporcizia varia e numero danni presenti incredibilmente alto, mi viene consegnata in sostituzione della precedente un'altra, nuova ma sempre con interni sporchi. Ho dovuto pulirla io...

A catania non mi hanno voluto dare l'auto per un giudizio all'intenzione: avendo paura che io uscissi dalla Sicilia. Mi hanno mentito dicendomi di aver fatto il rimborso invece non era vero. A me sembra una truffa a tutti gli effetti. Presto lo diranno i giudici.

This is genuinely the worst car rental company I have ever dealt with. The way we were treated by Rent Smart24 Napoli was appalling. Rude, aggressive and completely unwilling to help when we had a genuine safety issue with one of their vehicles.

Earlier this afternoon we noticed a large bulge on one of the tyres. The car had no spare tyre, so we called Rent Smart24, explained the situation and asked if they could arrange for a mobile tyre fitter to come out and replace it.

We were simply told it was “not their problem” and that it was our responsibility because we had not purchased their local insurance. Their solution was that I should arrange and pay for a recovery truck to return the vehicle to them.

I explained that our flight was only a few hours away and asked them to help us find a practical solution. Again, we were told it was our problem.

With no spare tyre and no assistance being offered, I attempted to move the car. It travelled only a few metres before the tyre failed completely. Thankfully, this happened close to where we were staying and I was able to leave the vehicle somewhere safe.

At that point, with a flight to catch, I went to their office to return the key and give them the exact location of the vehicle. I explained that they already had my card details, so they could arrange recovery, charge the cost to my card and I would make a claim through my own insurance.

They refused to accept the key.

I was then told that unless I personally arranged for the vehicle to be returned, they would report the car as stolen. When I attempted to hand the key back, a member of staff threw the key onto the floor, which is shown in the video.

I have rented cars many times and have never experienced customer service like this. I wasn’t asking them to accept financial responsibility for the tyre. I was perfectly prepared for the recovery or repair cost to be charged to my card and dealt with through my insurance. I simply needed assistance dealing with an unsafe vehicle before catching a flight.

Instead, we were met with hostility, threats that the vehicle would be reported stolen, and a refusal even to accept their own car key when I attended their office in person.

Whatever their contractual position regarding tyres or insurance, there is absolutely no excuse for treating customers this way.

Based on our experience, I would never rent from Rent Smart24 Napoli again and certainly could not recommend them to anyone.

Réservation via VipCars avec RentSmart24 en Italie. J'ai présenté ma carte de crédit Visa, conforme aux conditions annoncées (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners acceptées). Au comptoir, refusée sous prétexte qu'elle serait émise par une « banque en ligne » — un critère qui ne figure nulle part dans mon contrat de réservation.
Résultat : obligé de signer sur place un contrat de 5 pages, sans temps réel pour le lire, sous peine de voir ma location annulée alors que j'avais déjà engagé mon voyage et que je suis arrivé tard dans la soirée, Aucune alternative possible. J'ai payé 338,49 € au lieu des 131,99 € prévus, soit 206,50 € de supplément imposé pour une « assurance Premium » que mon contrat présentait pourtant comme optionnelle et proposée librement au comptoir.
Pour couronner le tout, la voiture ne m'a même pas été remise avec le plein de carburant, contrairement à ce que prévoyait le contrat.
Un procédé qui ressemble à du racket organisé : carte conforme refusée arbitrairement, document imposé sans consentement réel, supplément déguisé en option. Réclamation envoyée, contestation bancaire en cours. Évitez RentSmart24 à tout prix.

**Very disappointing experience – unexpected insurance charge**

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience with this car rental company.

I had already purchased my own independent car rental insurance through the company’s website and had proof of the policy with me when collecting the vehicle. Despite providing this documentation, they refused to accept my insurance and insisted that I purchase their own insurance before allowing me to take the vehicle.

As a result, I was forced to pay an additional **£80** for insurance that I had already arranged and paid for separately.

I appreciate that rental companies have their own terms and conditions, but I feel this should have been made much clearer at the time of booking, particularly when their website allowed me to purchase separate insurance.

Overall, I found the experience frustrating and felt I had little choice but to pay the additional £80 at the desk. I would recommend checking the insurance requirements very carefully before booking, as having your own insurance may not necessarily be accepted when you collect the vehicle.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not use this company again.

Nicht zu empfehlen

Wir mieteten über die Plattform VIPCars bei Rentcars24 ein Auto für unsere Sardinien Reise. Das war alles problemlos.
Auch die Abholstation war gut beschrieben und leicht zu finden.
An der Station angekommen begann jedoch ein nicht zu übertreffender schlechter Kundenservice. Herr Ciro (ob der Name stimmt, kann ich nicht sicher sagen, da der Herr am Schalter sich weigerte, mir seinen Namen zu nennen. Erst am Ende schrieb er auf einen Papierschnipsel einen Namen) Also Herr war nicht gewillt einer meiner 3 Visacards zu akzeptieren. Auch die Visa Card meiner Begleitung akzeptierte er nicht. Auf die Frage, welche Lösung es gäbe, tippte er mit dem Stift äußerst aggressiv auf den Voucher und begann zu schreien, dass es keine Lösung gäbe. Nach kurzem nahm er meinen Voucher, schmiss diesen auf den Boden vor meine Füße und verwies uns der Anmietstation.
Am Flughafen fanden wir drei Anmietstationen, die unsere Visa Card akzeptierten, um ein Auto zu leihen.

Sehr unseriös - mieten Sie lieber woanders!!! Wollen einem mehr als penetrant zusätzliche Versicherungen andrehen (das machen andere auch, das hier war aber noch deutlich schlimmer). Wenn man nichts zusätzlich abschließt, wird man stehen gelassen und ignoriert. Das Personal ist das allerunfreundlichste, das ich jemals erlebt habe. Eine schreckliche Erfahrung!!!

FINGER WEG!! Wie schon oft geschrieben wird vor Ort gesagt, dass die online genutzte Karte nicht funktioniert. Die online gebuchte Zusatzversicherung (bspw. via booking.com) gilt nicht, hier hat man klassisch Geld beim Fenster raus geworfen. Bei allen anderen Autovermietungen kann man mittlerweile den Deposit mit einer Debitkarte hinternegen, hier nicht. Ohne Kreditkarte wird einem die super premium Versicherung angedreht (ca 3x so hoch wie das Auto selbst) ansonsten bekommt man das Auto nicht.
