An on-the-ground expert’s opinions on the global energy upheaval that is occurring, with a particular focus on electrification and the electrify everything movement. I’m also working on a book about global material flows to complement my book “Electrify” (MIT Press) about global energy flows. I will work through the material of both books through this substack experiment, with ample commentary connecting our large-scale movements on energy and stuff to geo-politics and even local politics.
I intend to maximise readership by making paid subscriptions optional — but of course if you do opt for a paid subscription I’ll be able to afford the help I will need to produce more and publish more frequently.
