I don't believe the ad campaign. There is no way some Japanese dude is hand crafting these knives for this price. No way.
I will say that the knives are really sharp and seem to be good. Time will be the true test. Will they sharpen well in the future? Will the handles hold up? We will see.
If you're expecting a set of sharp knives that look nice, you will get that. If you want to tell the made up story of "Hiroshi" to your friends, have fun with it.

First of all, it was a good buy! - I initially bought the Paring knife as a memory of Sakura-knives Company. But, then, using it I realized that it works well and well made. So, I decided to buy the whole 8 set. I chose Yozora set. They all are beautifily made, just like Japanese sword. Looked like gorgeous gifts. As such, I will cherish theme as long as I live. Good work, Hiroshi, and a Happy Retirement!

Post Office not paying attention to my hold mail request while on vacation, they were going to send my knives back to Japan as undeliverable. Hiroshi informed me and helped me resolve the situation. A potential crazy long wait was thankfully avoided due to Hiroshi’s vigilance and concern for his customer. The knives arrived and were beautiful. Exquisite work by a talented craftsman. I've been familiar with Sakura knives for many years, and have heard and read about their excellence in the world of cutlery. I'm a very good cook and enjoy the entire process. Working with high quality instruments, in this case knives, makes an enormous difference. Unfortunately, I was not in position to purchase them in the past because of price constraints, which have now been lifted.

I actually purchased 4 sets in total, I 1st ordered 1 for me then, when i received them and saw the quality I purchased 3 more it’s for my family. Great knives and unbelievable value

What an edge! I have never had such sharp, precise cutting tools, ever!
I have only had the need to use three of the different blades in the set so far, but I'm totally hooked. Beautifully made handles, even though not the wood version, still ergonomic to my average woman's' hand I don't feel any problems for long term use. Thank you for your quick shipping and well organized website. I feel sorry your shop is closing for those who didn't take advantage and buy one of your last blade sets. They are truly pieces of art.
