It was the worst experience ever at the beginning, but the final results were to my datifaction

It was the worst experience ever. Would not hire them ever again. It’s amazing how a company can take advantage of a single 70 yr old little lady that had a severe concussion in January, a total of 18” of flood water in crawl space June 28-July 16, and July 3 rd fell into the crawl space , badly bruising herself. After checking for several quotes , decided to hire Milani. sales representative was very courteous , knowledgeable said he would treat as if I was his granny. I was required to pay $4000 deposit of $6500. Milani Plumbers from Calgary came the next day, as Chris placed me on the top of their list. I was so ecstatic I was in tears. They arrived at 11 am left at 4pm .
On July 17 they arrived. one came to front door, another to back door and another to the patio door, I felt bombarded. Hardepp and I introduced ourself , upon entering they put the Matt’s on the floor, I open the hatch door, Hardepp took a look and instantly stated, “ I’m not getting down there, how are we going to get the dirt out, where are we going to put the dirt, we were never told it was wet down there, I was told it was 4 feet high. he didn’t want put the sump pump 3 feet down from the hatch door , the lowest point. Three time we argued back and forth. Myself, stating it’s suppose to go at the lowest point , Chris took pictures and measurements and we both agreed as to where the pump should go, if you put it right in front of the hatch, how will other service workers be able to get down there with the pump and drains in the way, how am I suppose to get down there, I’m afraid someone one will bump into it by mistake. Hardepp continues to refuse. I stated, I just paid $4000 down , your plumbers you go into small places. if your not going to put the pump where it’s suppose to go, I’m giving your company a bad review and you will not be installing a furnace , hot water tank or AC, I’ll get my money back. They pack up their equipment and left, Hardepp was out side my house on phone for 45-1hr talking to manager. Hardepp came back and convinced me to have the pump installed in front of the hatch. Because I was in dire need of a pump and uneducated as sump pumps , I agreed under duress. On top of that, they didn’t even have proper equipment, I supplied the shirt shiver garden tools, wheel barrel, and even cleans up after them, it was a gong show. Later I found out that the manager encouraged Hardepp to go back and try to talk me into having the pump put in the wrong spot. Being under do much stress, I felt I was coerced-while unde duress to having the sump pump installed in the wrong place. After much dis agreement between myself and the company. I was demanding they remove the sump pump and place it in thd proper place 3 ft down from hatch door and drain system installed in crawl space and out though an opening in the wall facing the ally( exactly where it was supposed to be to be installed. But in order Milani to do this, they wanted to charge me another $1000, which I refused. After much back and forth communication, the general manager, manager and sales rep came to view the situation. Finally Milani agreed to move the sump pump and drainage to its proper location. The plumber that repaired the botched up installation, did an amazing job, were courteous, knowledgeable and compassionate. I was very impressed. I do give 5 star to Ian and Keyon for an amazing job but not the company.

Avoid Milani plumbing company- poor workmanship

This company’s plumber (Tom) in Victoria BC botched the installation of two exterior faucets on our home. He cut a pipe out of a wall before determining the pipes pathway route, which meant the drywall inside the house had to be opened up. He also did not trim pex piping on the second faucet which led to the pipe binding a Lazy Sue tray inside the kitchen cupboard where the piping ran. The error led to a bill of $600 which in my estimate was double what it would have cost without all the errors. Attitude of plumber was very poor.
Response to our complaint was very poor by management. No wonder their current average rating is 2.8 out of five stars on this site.

DO NOT USE!

DO NOT USE! We paid $267.75 to fix a bathtub drainage issue, but the drain is still not working properly and is actually worse than before. The plumber's notes stated the issue was resolved, but that is simply not the case.

We also came home to find black debris left throughout the bathroom.

When we contacted the company, our concerns were dismissed and we were told we would have to pay for another visit if we wanted the issue checked again. We requested that a different plumber review the work, but this was refused unless we paid additional charges.

Very disappointing service and poor customer support. We will not be using this company again.

Unscrupulous & unskilled - don’t hire

TLDR: not skilled; not honest. This company employs dishonest, unscrupulous technicians, and fully stands behind them even after the lies come to light.

Plumbing technician Lovepreet came out to assess and repair issues with 2 showers. He spent time supposedly repairing the first shower, and after that informed me that the shower could not be used because it had been leaking into the wall, such that the shower surround and flooring needed to be replaced. I was not happy that he had proceeded to repair something that was unusable, but that isn't even my main issue.
The second shower was not getting any cold water, only hot. He diagnosed a problem with the valve. He was very clear that those valves cannot be repaired and that I needed to buy a new valve and trim kit. I pushed him on it, because that bathroom was slated for a reno and is rarely used. I wanted the valve repaired if at all possible. He insisted that it was not possible. I asked if the old trim could be recycled; he said no, I needed to throw it away. So i did. that was a mistake!
I felt like we had a reasonable rapport, so even though I noticed he was holding the clipboard & invoice strangely such that most of the info was covered and I couldn't see it, I trusted him and signed on the line. That was a bigger mistake!
1) He overbilled me, lying about what time he arrived.
2) He had, for no reason and unbeknowest to me, turned off the water to a third shower and left it off. When we went to use that shower later in the day, it suddenly didn't work.
3) when a different technician came to install the new valve, his first question was, "Don't you want me to just repair this valve?"
My jaw hit the floor. I had been specifically that there was no way to repair that kind of valve. I had been told to throw away the old trim. At this point, the only option was moving forward with the new valve and trim.
(I have no complaints about the 2nd technician.)

Customer service (Hanna) agreed that he had made "a mistake" on the billing. However, they claimed that I chose the option to replace, eventhough that was the only option I was presented with. They said that since I threw out the old trim, that was my responsibility, despite the fact that I threw it out based on the instructions of their technician.
They did adjust the hours billed to reflect the actual time on site, and then acted as though they were doing me a favour by doing so. I also got a small credit because he left me with no working shower.

Had the first technician been appropriately knowledgeable and honest, he would have just repaired the valve and made sure all the water was back on. I would have not incurred the hundreds of dollars of costs for a new valve and trim kit, nor the hundreds of dollars for the 2nd visit.

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Milani Plumbing — ongoing issue since May 2025 with no resolution.

We’ve been dealing with Milani Plumbing since May 2025 regarding a faulty eco flusher they installed, and despite repeated emails and calls, the matter remains unresolved. The flusher broke within months. Their team initially said it was under warranty, then later claimed it was discontinued and that the entire tank would need to be replaced. After months of waiting — including an incorrect tank order — a new high-pressure tank was finally installed, yet Milani still invoiced us and has refused to refund the cost of the defective flusher.

When questioned about the delay, Milani staff said they were waiting on reimbursement from their vendor before issuing our refund. I made it clear that this was not our responsibility — their vendor relationship should not delay or prevent a refund owed to a paying customer. Despite this, nothing has been resolved.

I’ve sent multiple follow-up emails (most recently in September 2025) with all invoices attached, but the manager or owner has continually refused to return my calls or respond, despite several attempts to speak directly with them.

This experience shows a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. I would strongly caution anyone considering Milani Plumbing to get all warranty and refund terms in writing — or better yet, choose a company that actually stands behind its work and respects its customers.
