I am very disappointed with my experience as a new customer.
Due to a language barrier, a misunderstanding occurred when I signed my membership. I contacted customer service immediately and throughout the entire process I remained polite, cooperative and willing to pay for the period I had already used.
Unfortunately, the communication was inconsistent. At one point I was told to sign the new August Deal, and I understood from the emails that the MemberCard fee would be waived. Later I was informed that I still had to pay half of the MemberCard fee (€19.50), which made the suggested solution meaningless for me.
My disappointment is not with the customer service representative personally, but with McFIT's handling of the situation. As a customer, I did not feel that my case was handled fairly or transparently.
I expected much better customer service.
They are scammers
They are scammers. They play as if you didn't cancel contract through their app, and they send misleading notifications on email, trapping you in overpayment for a few months until you notice your cancelled contract is not actually cancelled. This happened to me in Germany, and yes - customer support is nonexistent, so never sign with those fraudsters.

Very disappointing experience with the contract handling and payment reminders.
I believed my membership had ended after the initial contract period, but months later I suddenly received a large reminder with additional reminder fees.
What frustrated me most is that I only received a bigger payment reminder after several months instead of being clearly informed earlier.
Terrible experience
I am visiting Mcfit almost every week and paying their "Tageskarte" with a cash. Today, one of their staff told me that they never accepted any cash payment. I also tried to do the membership and he said that there are some "additional fees", I asked him why it was not stated online and he just replied me "that's why I am saying it to you now." People here just don't know what they are doing and some people lies. I suggest that they train their staff more on how to be consistent and be more professional.
Kindergarten
McFit makes cancelling way harder than it should be
I joined McFit in Germany and was initially happy with the gym facilities. However, my experience with their cancellation policy has been frustrating and unnecessarily complicated.
Even though the contract runs monthly, they require cancellation at least 4 weeks before the end of your current billing cycle. Otherwise, it automatically renews for the another month. What's more, pressing "cancel" in the app does not actually cancel your membership. You MUST (also?) submit a formal cancellation notice via email, phone, letter or through their website's cancellation form as outlined in their terms (See Point 5.1 and 5.4 at McFit website / Terms section).
If you miss the timing, they will charge you for the next full month, plus the 4-week notice period. So read the fine print carefully. This policy feels designed to catch people off guard.
Worst Gym ever
Worst Gym ever! They are scammers, as i did cancel my contract and they still charging me money! WTF! And they even do not reply my emails? I think this case should go with a lawyer or something.
they are cheating with the membership fee
I was living in Italy for a month and joined this Gym to stay fit. I have nothing bad to stay about the Gym itself, but I stayed there 1 month and they are taking automatically the money from my account now for the 4th consecutive month.
I am sure they are doing this on purposes - explantions are very scant and misleading
My advice - do not give your account details to them
Cancelled my membership but still got charged
I cancelled my McFIT membership on May 22 and got written confirmation that it would end on June 22. But they kept charging me anyway.
I called, and one employee admitted the cancellation was never processed. Then they told me I’d have to keep paying until August 22, unless I used their contact form to explain the issue. I did that on June 30. I’ve heard absolutely nothing for 3 weeks.
Then the story changed. They claim I “revoked” my cancellation because I changed my gym on June 10. I did update my gym in the app but wasn’t told this would affect my cancellation. No warning, no confirmation, just one vague “Selfservice Antragsfreigabe” email that didn’t specify anything.
To cancel your membership, you have to call, wait, and have back and forth conversation with a human. But to undo the whole thing you only need to tap anywhere in the app and your contract magically come back from death. How is that not a scam?
No communication. No real help. Just shifting blame. I haven’t used the gym since June 18 because I thought my membership was cancelled.
It's just disgusting practice.
Unfair €742 Charge After 4 Years of No Use – Zero Contact or Reminders
In 2020, during the pandemic, I signed up for a McFIT membership. Due to the ongoing health crisis and lockdowns, I never once used the membership—not even once. I had assumed, like many companies at the time, McFIT would freeze or pause memberships until things normalized.
Fast forward to 2024—I suddenly received a demand for over €742, claiming I still owe them for a membership I haven’t used since day one. I never received any notification, email, reminder, or update for four years.
I tried to resolve this—I sent multiple emails to their official support site, And received no response at all. Despite never using the service, I am still being charged €25 every month for absolutely nothing.
Their only reply when I explained the situation was:
“We know you didn’t use it, but you signed a contract, so you have to pay.”
To CEO Pierre Geisensetter and the management at McFIT GmbH: This is a predatory practice, and it reflects extremely poor customer care. I’m posting this publicly so others are warned and this issue is taken seriously.
You certainly get what you pay for in…
You certainly get what you pay for in terms of the facility and the floor support but the equipment is often better than that of gyms three times the price. Clientele at my branch absolutely fine too - perfectly respectful in my experience. The staff are friendly too.
Gotta take a star off for the muck pumped out on the screens though - screens you can't avoid if you want to use the cardio machines. The same showy, substanceless fitness influencer videos running for hours, days, years - and now there's Saudi sportswashing on full cycle repeat.
Absolute scumbags..
Absolute scumbags... I bought a day pass for a newly opened location in Friedrichshain, but the app would not download on my phone, despite having a German SIM and having never had any issues with foreign apps before. It said that it was not available in my location... I could not go through the process of setting this up, therefore I could not gain access to the gym when I went in the evening because there were no staff.
I saw that the payment had not been taken, and I assumed that there had been an error, and I went to a different gym.
Now, months later, I am receiving chasing emails for the payment of 6.90 euros... I wrote back explaining my experience and asked for an explanation. I received no explanation or apology for the inconvenience, no empathy at all, only insistence that they would take the money, despite me being back in my home country.
I saw that they finally took the money, and that it is somehow set up as a recurring payment! I never did this and have cancelled the recurrence, but they are the shadiest, pettiest, scummiest organisation I have come across and quite frankly their financial operations seem fraudlent at worst, and lacking transparency and fairness at best.
A very detailed and devastating critique...
Along with the Schwabing McFit, the Laim McFit used to be the best gym in Munich.
The 2024 autumn makeover made EVERYTHING WORSE. Although getting rid of walls in favor of more machines and cramping them all up as tight as possible, they actually managed to miss out on important machines, a lot of stuff got less comfortable, unusable or even dangerous. Some machines are too small for tall people and some weights are too light even for regular people.
A) Missing machines that have been there before
1. Maximum-angle sit up bench
2. Lateral raise machine (with upper-arm cushions instead of handles)
3. Dip machine
4. Vertical shoulder press machine (was the best for training traps with shrugs)
B) Stuff that got worse:
1. Only big plates for squat-barbells. (bad if you want to straight-leg-deadlift real low)
2. No 3, 5, 7, 9 kg dumbbells anymore.
3. They got rid of the sofa in favor of ugly uncomfortable bar-stools.
4. Bouncy floor .(You carefully drop a set of 30kg dumbells after a bench-press set to failure, you really have to watch out not to hit someone or yourself with them bouncing off the floor)
5. Unsecured machines. (sliding around the floor when leaning into them heavily, swinging around when training heavy)
6. Multiple Reverse butterfly construction flaws:
While helping my training partner I hit my head on the moving metal as it hangs far too low.
Single arm maximum-stretch movements became impossible as the tiny construcion doesn’t allow to lean in from the side at a 90 degree body position anymore. Tough to explain, but this one is the single most effective excersise for the rear delts.
7. One type of the lat-pull machines maxes out at 105kg instead of 135kg. The other type has the most stupid thigh pad/restraint I have ever seen. It’s nice that you can adjust it to your thigh girth and sitting position, but holy cow: IT ROLLS!!! Why exactly? So you can lock yourself as tight as possible and still slip out?
But that’s not all. They also managed to build 6 lat pull machines with each and every one being too small for a 1.85m person. In full stretch the weight stack touches down.
Same goes for the horizontal row machine: Full stretch = touchdown.
And it even gets worse: A tall person like me in normal sitting position has his knees right at the point where the sharp corners of the weight block rush down. That’s dangerous!
8. Cable crunches on one of the cable pulley stations got worse because it’s rotating around the Y-axis and therefore less stable (it’s one of the few minor issues though)
9. Now you have to present the gym card for exiting as well. (I imagine very smart think tank people in Berlin go like: “Hey, let’s think about even more things how to make every bit of the experience more annoying”)
C) Stuff that stayed bad
1. No grip tape at leg-presses. Especially important for doing calf training without fearing to slip.
2. One bathroom sink. (Maxing out the gym for capacity without sizing up bathrooms, guys?)
3. I could go on and on and on… but I guess that’s enough.
On top of all of that the new gym leader is really a pain in the a**. I’ve been training in McFit gyms for more than 15 years now, from Munich to Hamburg and from Cologne to Warsaw just to be told by some meticulous youngster that I can’t bring my gymbag to the training area or my son to the lobby. Ridiculous.

Unbelievably greedy with very shady practices
When I signed the contract in 2018 I was very clear about the cancelling part and was assured that after 2 years I can cancel whenever I want. through the years I see that the price keep on increasing for no clear reasons while the quality of the gym itself is base level with very low assistance or maintenance. when I noticed and complained i didnt get a response until I decided to cancel. They scheduled me to cancel 5 months in the future ( they said I can cancel directly whenever I want after 2 years when I was signing the contract) trying to pause -because I dont want to train with them anymore- just extends the contract, there is no phone to call and you are stuck with an automatic unhelpful system they use for costumers. they do absolutely nothing to improve their services but everything to get the last penny from you with no consideration and through shady practices.

I have been since 3 years registered with Mcfit. The Gym has all equipments needed and great coaches for any assistance and help. It might be sometime crowded but If you select an appropriate time for your training like in the early morning or evening, It will be great for Training. I do recommend it.

I canceled my contract in 2020
I canceled my contract in 2020.
Mcfit did not acknowledge my canceled contract.
Fortunately I had saved all documents.
Mcfit did not recognize any of them, although they were their documents.
They gave my case to their bill collectors!
They too did not recognize my paperwork which I have been collecting since 2020.
I mailed all documents to the Staatsanwaltschaft.
Today 2024 I finally received a letter from Mcfit's bill collectors that my case is closed.
Since 2020 Mcfit continually harassed me by saying they will ruin my credit.
Only until the Staatsanwaltschaft became involved did they back off.
This company McFit are scamming members, that cancel their memberships.
Beware and save all documents from McFit if you join.

Fraudsters
This fraudulent corporation employs scam tactics sadly used by many German organizations. This applies to their gyms located in Germany, but also in their gyms abroad, the scam is the same.
I went to their gym first time, and signed up for 1 month membership.
They secretly subscribed me for life.
After 1 month, as I supposed my membership expired, I never entered the gym again.
After some months, I receive an email stating that I owe them 6 months of advance payment (??)
After contacting support, their reply was: "the contract is automatically and silently renewed for 6 months every 6 months" and I have to pay the entire amount despite never having requested a renewal of the subscription. All I did was going to the gym and asking for a 1 month subscription. I never expressed any intention to sign up longer subscriptions and the staff is well trained to make the customer sign fraudulent contracts without advising them of the fine print, of the hidden conditions and charges.
The gym staff is there only to sell you contracts. If you need assistance of any kind, they redirect for any problem to telephone customer support which only operates until 13:00 and often after long waits.
So basically you are at the gym, but the staff there cannot solve any problem. You have to call and wait, the staff is useless, they are there only to lure you into a fraudulent subscription.
I refused to pay and periodically they started sending, from a collection agency, threatening emails and letters at home requesting for payment.
Obviously, I just used these letters as free toilet paper.
Eventually they gave up.
I strongly invite every victim of this organization NOT to pay them anything, so as not to encourage their ransom scheme, on the contrary hoping to bring them bankrupt as soon as possible.
Better to pay a local business gym, doing local economy some good, rather then splurging your finances to a corrupt, faceless, greedy big corporation, who uniquely cares about profit, shamelessly trying to milk customers with immoral practices, while also cutting cost on gym staff and facilities.
Their gyms are also often overcrowded as their main concern is luring in as most people as possible into their fraudulent subscriptions.

I made contracts for 6 months with…
I made contracts for 6 months with mcfit in March 2020, unfortunately corona started after 1 week. Then I decided to cancel my contract and tried to approach nearby Mcfit center, but unfortunately due to coronavirus all mcfit centers are closed. So anyways I made contract for 6 months, they have to cancel after 6 months. Now they didn’t cancel my contract and they didn’t have any information regarding the issue. After 3 years now they send one letter and asking me to pay 950€. I replied to them that I made contract for 6 months, why Mcfit is asking me to pay 950€. They told me that my contract is still running, so I have to pay . Here thing is after signing the contract I didn’t even see Mcfit membership card in my post. In this situation how come Mcfit is asking me to pay. In my life I didn’t face such a fraud company(mcfit). When I called to customer service they said it’s over no more discussion go and talk with lawyer. Next I am going to approach in my university students to make aware for others to ban mcfit. Please don’t trust Mcfit. Save your money from mcfit. I can prove that Mcfit is a fraud company with complete documents.
