Low ball trade-in offer
Thought their offer for my trade-in was kind of low. Seems I was right. The dealer gave me 66% more.
The firm offer to buy my car was a scam
The firm offer to buy my car was a scam. They offered $1000 with a firm quote.. I submitted my documents one week before setting an appointment to drop off the vehicle.. they reviewed the documents and approved the sale.. on the morning of the drop off (more than a week after they had approved the documents) they messaged me that the offer price had changed to $500 due to a "manual adjustment" I was on my way to drop off the car when I received the message.. to add insult to injury, I arrived at the äppointment"drop off location at a local hotel by the highway (at the specified time) , no-one was there .. Not that I was going to accept this lower price anyway, but this all adds to the feeling that the whole process is a scam designed to lure in a potential client then make up an excuse to change the "firm"offer at the very last minute... the next day I called up a scrap yard and received $900 on the spot.. clearly the car was worth much more than $500... a sleazy scam!!
Do not waste your time
It you r selling your car have them come to your house to look at your vehicle or else they feel they can nickel & dime you at there location,
Waste of time bringing your car to them have them come to you
I helped my 93 year old father in law…
I helped my 93 year old father in law sell his almost new car because he can’t drive anymore. The service before he sold it was great. Prompt replies from customer service until after the sell when I couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I left 3 messages before I got a call back. The problem was that the representative assured my father in law that the money would be in his account in 10 minutes. They repeated this to him many times. The next day he went to
The bank to find out that he hadn’t been paid. He thought he had been scammed and came over to see me in a panic. I finally reached someone at Clutch who admitted that they made a mistake. The funds were deposited the next day but it cause him so much angst that I think an apology and a compensation would have been the right thing to do. I suggested this but I never heard back from them. My conclusion is that they are very good until you have a problem then you can no longer expect prompt customer service. I would not recommend it. For the small difference, we should have sold it to the dealership.
I was a bit nervous buying a car on…
I was a bit nervous buying a car on line but once I did I was pretty happy about the decision. I bought the car I had been looking for. My delivery driver, Balram Gill was very prompt and helpful upon delivery. All in all a very good experience.
Too a long time but deal completed
Still don’t have my car. It was supposed to be delivered a week ago but had a faulty sunroof (which they did not even inspect until the day before delivery) then I was told it had to go back to a dealer for fixing, my “sales rep” Stephen baker told me all was good after it was caught and now a week later I’m still waiting and they sent me an email saying it is coming today, I called and no one has a record of it coming here and the advisor has not contacted me in days. Complete joke of a business, no accountability just sorry and you get to wait. Also note, I do not complain about businesses, I’ve worked in sales and had to deal with issues but leaving your customer hanging on a deal that is signed and should be closed easily is definitely a sign of improper management and miscommunications. I was really hoping this company would be a positive experience and now they have left me bitter and carless. Thanks clutch 👎
Updated - after 3 weeks from beginning to end being told 3 separate times I’d receive my car and not get it I now have it 👍 the guys who dropped it off were super nice, however they did mess up the printing off of new ownership missing my name on the document. So I have to fix that, they gave me back $460 in fees, I signed 6 separate times for final documents. The sun roof which was the issue is fixed and the car is great. Overall they came around and the manager called me apologized that they dropped the ball. In the end if I didn’t have a random deposit and a more communicative advisor this could have been avoided. If you use them just be clear with your expectations if they have an issue you may. Be hanging around for a car for weeks. So another are they different authors, different authors is it some other girl tagged deemed off another girl that world requested?
I recently purchased a car on clutch…
I recently purchased a car on clutch and it has been a great experience! An air shutter needed work and they covered it and the reprogramming. I would definitely recommend clutch!
I find that clutch is scammer
I find that clutch is scammer. Buying the car much cheaper and selling more. Try doing opposite of what you want to do. If selling a car. First check and see how much they will sell it to you and have an idea. I believe that clutch is worse than dealers.
Very smooth process
I had a very good experience at Clutch in Bayshore Mall - Ottawa. The process was easy and smooth and Anuj was very helpful. I definitely recommend it!
Much easier then I thought
Heard of it from friends.
I did a bit of research when I selling my 2017 Toyota Camry.
Clutch offered the best price.
The overall experience was easy, smooth, quick.
Come to my place, quick inspection, sign, got paid in 5 minutes.
Couldn't be easier.
Way too much of a headache
Way too much of a headache. I'll stick to a real dealer.
I won't be using Clutch again. The remote-buy setup sounds good, but they have major staff issues and messy processes that you just don't deal with at a normal brick-and-mortar dealership.
They do not handle outliers well. I tried to sell them a truck I bought brand new with $20k in factory add-ons, and Clutch offered me 20% less than every single other dealer. While other shops were in a bidding war, Clutch was out by themselves with a joke of a lowball offer.
When I bought a truck from them, my first advisor was condescending, brittle, and defensive whenever I asked basic questions. He tried to bum-rush us into a $50k purchase by hiding a lower interest rate behind bundled add-ons like Tag anti-theft and loan protection, without actually breaking down the costs.
On top of that, he gave us an arbitrary next-morning deadline to pay a non-refundable $249 shipping fee before we had even locked down the deal. I was ready to walk away at closing and demanded a new advisor.
The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is the new advisor I got, a wonderful lady named Julie. She was actually quite pleasant to deal with and sorted out the lower interest rate, which salvaged the deal and took the sting out of a really distasteful process.
But things still went sideways. The truck showed up missing the promised second key. The delivery guys tried to say there wasn't one until I showed them the printed listing. Clutch paid for the key, but I had to waste my own time making an 80-minute round trip to the nearest dealer to get it programmed.
Also, remember them trying to force me to finance a Tag anti-theft system into my loan? Good thing I didn't. When the truck arrived, it clearly had an existing Tag enrollment etched right on the windows. I just paid $49 to transfer it myself. If I had bought their package, I'd still be fighting to get my money and interest charges back. What a mess.
If you’re easily intimidated and don't mind surprises, maybe Clutch is for you. Personally, I'll stick to the predictability and service of a real dealer.
Absolutely terrible service
Absolutely terrible service, they gave a quote and I gave very clear details of what issues and things were up with the car.
When they came out to pick it up they had a new quote after inspection and it was 2400 less than original quote. Low ball offers, dont even waste your time. Thats all they do, waste time!
Great service, peace of mind
As someone buying their first car in Canada, I had a great experience with Clutch.
I met Lovepreet at the Clutch Mississauga location to help me with the final steps of the purchase. She was very helpful, patient, and answered all my questions to the best of her knowledge. When she wasn’t sure about something, she even connected me with the right person to get a clear answer.
Gabriel, my advisor at Clutch, was also very helpful throughout the process. He explained everything about buying the car through Clutch and made sure the entire experience was as smooth as possible. The information he provided, including the final costs, was accurate down to the dollar.
Overall, I had a very positive experience with Clutch and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to buy a car in Canada.
This is my second time dealing with…
This is my second time dealing with Clutch, and both experiences have been excellent. On both occasions, I traded in my old vehicle and purchased another one through them.
The entire process was extremely smooth, convenient, and fair. Clutch provided a competitive price for my trade-in, I selected a vehicle from their website, and the entire transaction was completed online. Their trade-in offer was significantly higher than those I received from competitors, including CarDoor.
If you are looking to buy, sell, or trade in a vehicle, I highly recommend giving Clutch a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised by how easy the process is.
So Clutch
We cannnot get over how seamless that car shopping and buying process was with Clutch. Clutch’s fabulous platform made getting informed for car buying newbies such a cinch. So far we are just smitten with our very first car :) Grateful for the responsive and super helpful support and service from Parm, Camillo, and Simon! Smooth sailing all the way through 🚙🫶👌😊 Many thanks 🙏from Jac & Bec
Great experience
sold our car to clutch and can't say enough about how easy and straight forward it was. Was able to upload everything they needed online. they called to walk us through how pick up would go and what to expect when they came. Driver called 15 min out and whole transaction took 10 min. Bill of sale was sent while driver was still there and money in our account couple of hours later. Would 100% recommend.
Everything was good until I had to…
Everything was good until I had to handover the keys, they scanned my truck and made up a story....the guy said , 30 kms ago you erased a code... reduced 1000 dollars . Never again. Don't trust them blindly
Do not use clutch. Once they have your money the service is the worst ever.
As soon as the vehicle showed up I noticed undisclosed rust on a newer truck the delivery driver ignored my questions and said you have 10 days bro. Then trying to exchange it, I’ve never had worse service dealing with anything else ever. They are scammers. They do anything to push it off and ignore you once they have your money. Do not ever use clutch.
great concept..terrible experience
great concept..terrible execution. the car i bought was full of undisclosed damage. car was also filthy and full of dog hair despite being charged for "detailing". there are also added fees of $1800 plus for which you get no actual value. when questioned customer service ignores your actual questions and just makes excuses as to why they didn't have to disclose things or why they didn't meet their disclosure standards...not quite a bait and switch, but make sure you fully inspect your vehicle before you sign anything because you will get no customer service after the fact.
Tried selling my van to clutch
Tried selling my van to clutch. They gave me an offer. Took the van to one of their locations. They demand documents and then inspected the vehicle. After the inspecting they decided to deduct a thousand dollars from the original offer. They should have inspected the vehicle first before wasting every ones time. Spoke to an employing who was supposed to follow up did not return my call. No good.
