Why subscribe to Marginalia?
Because I want to build a community here. I suspect substack will become my primary social media over the next year or so and I would love for you to be part of it. By subscribing you will never miss an update or a post. You will also be first in line to get information about events (in person and online), writing projects (including my next book), and special offers (like joining a launch team). I’d love for you to be part!
I am a medieval historian, women’s historian, pastor’s wife, and (of late) a historian of modern evangelicalism (especially the SBC). Marginalia is a mix of all of these. I am a teacher at heart and I love being able to ‘teach’ in this space as well as in my classroom.
Because of the political climate, I have begun to archive my older posts for paid subscribers. For the same reason, I may limit comments to paid subscribers from time to time, too. But my new writing is always free. I am lucky that I have a full time job (a professor at a research university) that I love. Yet I do appreciate the generous spirit of so many who understand the value and hardwork of writing & research. If you want to buy me a coffee to support my work, you are welcome too. But if you just want to read and don’t have the ability to support financially, you are just as welcome.
