Dear Kindred Spirits,
There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that doesn’t go away with rest. You’ve accomplished things, traveled, built things, shown up. And still, something essential feels unlived. Not broken. Just... waiting.
A Mindful Tea is written for people who recognize that feeling, and are curious enough to do something about it.
I’m Joanna Riquett — a writer, experience designer, and contemplative practitioner living in the mountains of Medellín, Colombia. I’ve spent years designing journeys that invite people to slow down: silent desert crossings in Morocco, retreats with monastics in Plum Village, tea rituals in unexpected places. And I’ve spent just as many years learning — imperfectly — to practice what I offer.
This publication is where I write through that. Not from a place of having arrived, but from inside the practice. From the middle of the path, where it’s sometimes unclear and always honest.
You’ll find essays on stillness and attention. Letters from monasteries and deserts. Reflections on what it means to actually inhabit our lives — our outer travels and our inner ones — not just move through them.
Brew something warm. Stay a while.
Similing,
Joanna
