★ Welcome to Napkin Manifestos! ★
While facing whistleblower retaliation at a public research university in the South, I started stripping so I could resign from my tenured job as an English professor and pursue my dream of living as a writer. Shaped by these experiences as a recovering academic and sex worker, I write witchy creative nonfiction about power and pleasure in and beyond the crumbling structures that fail to contain them.

Please consider subscribing if you’d like to receive a new napkin manifesto about once per month. No spam or AI slop, ever, promise!
I recommend downloading the free Substack app where you can read or listen to work from the archives. Personally, I love the audio feature especially when I’m puttering around my apartment. And while I’m allergic to a lot of social media these days, I can honestly say I have found such a rad community here!
Thank you so much for reading and supporting my work through a free or paid subscription. While I occasionally use a paywall when the writing feels too vulnerable or raw to otherwise share, I remain committed to open access. That said, a paid subscription not only serves you the juiciest writing but the deep moral satisfaction (lol) of supporting a struggling writer whose academic salary in the humanities, shockingly (also lol), did not bestow on me financial security much less untold riches. But seriously, supporting artists in general is vital especially in the age of AI. And each subscription makes it more possible to do the work that I really want to do, which is to say, writing, instead of the work that currently pays my bills.
I have loved writing since before I could spell the word the, which I simply replaced in each instance with a random string of letters. Now that I know, that and some other things, I am beyond grateful that I get to share my writing with you.
