Hi! I’m Angie - a nature lover, keen hobby photographer, and kitchen gardener striving to be as self-sufficient and eco-friendly as possible.

Previously based in North Yorkshire, England, (and briefly in Cumbria) my partner Matt and I recently relocated to our new permanent home in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

We love visiting parks, gardens and beautiful countryside, and have a particular love of wetland habitats. And I always have my camera.

Here I will write about the places we visit, to share their beautiful landscapes, plants and wonderful wildlife. Some of these places are off the beaten track and not widely known. I do hope you will enjoy reading about these special places as much as I enjoy visiting and writing about them.

I will also write about my garden. Posts will include observations on the plants that grow there and the wildlife that visits. And I will document the process of turning a large area of grassed lawn into a productive orchard and kitchen garden, using no-dig and permaculture techniques, always with nature in mind.

All posts will be free for everyone to read for at least 4 weeks after publication.

Subscribe for free to make sure that you never miss a post. I will publish regularly, though not to any strict schedule - posts will appear when they are ready.

Consider upgrading to a paid subscription to support my writing and photography. Paid subscribers will always have access to the complete archives.

If you would like to support my work, but don’t want to commit to a paid subscription, you could always Buy Me a Coffee. Any support will be so very much appreciated, and makes the effort of writing the posts and editing the photos worthwhile!

You can see more of my photographs here at Photo4Me, where you can also buy prints in various formats.
