How many donors in your database are rated but unmanaged? How many could be your next major gift donor if given that personal attention? On average, gift officers manage just 2.53% of donors, leaving the majority—including known rated donors—to broad communications. Organizations with Virtual Engagement Officers are closing that gap and reaching more donors through one-to-one cultivation, leading to deeper engagement and giving. In our recent webinar, BWF Zuri's Michelle Green discussed the differences between major giving and principal giving. "Principal giving is not simply a major gift with another zero. The strategy shifts from securing support for existing priorities to partnering with donors around transformational opportunities." 👉 Check out our recent blogs that brings this to life: https://hubs.li/Q04tz3GW0 ▶️ Watch the full recording from our July webinar on Principal Giving: https://lnkd.in/eE3K_Pib

The best recurring giving ask isn't always the same ask for every donor. For the National Kidney Foundation, a more personalized giving experience helped make sustained support a natural next step. Using GoFundMe Pro’s Intelligent Ask Amounts, the organization optimized giving experiences based on factors like giving history, location, and device. During National Kidney Month, the organization saw 74% more new recurring donors year over year and a 22% increase in average recurring gift size.* It’s a powerful example of how smarter, more relevant donor experiences can help make recurring giving feel like a natural next step for more supporters. These conversations are part of why we believe ethical egg donation has to consider not only the family being created today, but the child who will grow up from that decision. Our Identified Donor Program gives families another option for building in greater openness, access to information, and the possibility of future connection. There is no single path that is right for every family. But we believe parents deserve education about their options and support in making decisions that consider everyone involved, including the future donor-conceived child. Katy shares more about why openness matters in this Mini Moment.

The best thing a kid can feel about their creation story is, ''I always knew." On this mini moment, we explore a first had perspective of a mother via egg donation and also through my experience as a donor. One of the things Emily Patel said in this conversation has stayed with me: sometimes the fear we feel around talking to our children about donor conception has much more to do with what we are carrying as parents than what our children are actually experiencing. After nearly 20 years in this work, I’ve watched families put so much pressure on themselves to find the “right” age, the “right” words, or the perfect moment to explain their child’s story. But maybe the goal isn’t a perfect conversation at all. Maybe it’s creating a family where the story was never a secret. Where curiosity is welcomed. Where questions about genetics aren’t confused with questions about love or belonging. This Mini Moment is my reflection on Emily’s story, but also on something I believe deeply after years of walking alongside donor-conceived families: openness isn’t one conversation. It’s something we build into the relationship over time. Our children don’t need us to have every answer. They need to know their story is safe with us. Thank you Emily for your openness to share about your our journey and to encourage families on this path. After Sep 10, donors will want more than a thank-you email. They will ask: 1. What did my gift change? 2. How will you measure it? 3. What happens next? With 441 organizations registered for Give for Good Louisville, donor follow-up is an opportunity to stand out through clarity: not volume. A KPI library gives your team consistent definitions. Clean data supports credible answers. A simple dashboard connects program activity to outcomes, trends, and next-step priorities. That means you can share a clear, donor-facing update in the week after the giving day: What changed because of the support. How progress is being measured. What the organization will do next. This is more than post-campaign communication. It is the foundation for stronger donor stewardship and turning one-time giving-day donors into renewal-ready supporters. Some end-of-day thoughts from Glen Eisenberg: We talk openly about where we see cross over between business and philanthropy, especially in areas like market segmentation and understanding your donors. In pursuit of trust based relationships, nonprofits need to understand their donor base, the segments in their ‘market’, so they can ensure the right information reaches the right donor. We work with our clients on developing their knowledge of their ‘segments’ so they can build better relationships.
