In a recent Forbes article, our Director of Social Media Marketing, Curtis Midkiff, Jr., unpacks a shift we've been seeing up close at Sprout: "Creators are asking for more tangible long-term relationships. They're not asking for more transactions. They're asking for more trust. They want revenue and relationships." Long-term creator partnerships build the kind of trust that shows up in content, engagement and revenue. It's why we launched the Sprout Creator Network at Cannes with nearly 300 creators. The metric most brands are still optimizing for? Consumers stopped caring about it a long time ago. Only 17% of consumers check a creator's follower count before deciding to follow them. They're looking at what creators talk about, who they partner with and how good their recent posts are. We surveyed 2,000+ consumers and 300 social media professionals across the US, UK and Australia to map where influencer marketing actually stands in 2026. The findings are worth your time. As the world tunes into the World Cup finals, we're giving you a front-row seat to one of its most viral host cities: Atlanta 🍑👽 We're exploring the A by bringing real-time data and real stories through the lens of Atlanta's creators, marketers, and tech leaders—all powered by the Intelligence Index and the Sprout Social Creator Network. Why? We believe social intelligence IS cultural intelligence. And since Sprout's social team has deep ties to this city, we're showing you the humans behind the handles that make Atlanta such a special place. First up: Grammy-nominated soul singer Anthony David. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his song, "ATL Sunshine." He was commissioned by the mayor's office to produce a remix in honor of the World Cup. Fun fact: the song was executive produced by our Director of Social, Curtis Midkiff, Jr. Follow Sprout's journey all week as we close out the global games ⚽️

Sprout Social, Inc. brought together 287 creators in Cannes. (let’s break down the playbook…) → Created a WhatsApp group for first-timers to navigate the chaos → A custom itinerary for EVERY creator → Access to exclusive events → Creator-only activations hosted by Sprout → A direct pipeline for brand partnerships That last part matters. Because so much of the creator economy still operates on "clout for access." Sprout flipped it. They invested in the experience, not the transaction. Now they're taking it further. Introducing the Sprout Social Creator Network, a first-of-its-kind way to hear about upcoming activations, brand campaigns, and exclusive opportunities If you want in the network, comment "JOIN" and I'll send you the link to apply. #sproutsocialcannescrew #sproutsocialpartner

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity just pulled 1.34 BILLION impressions… and most brands still aren’t paying attention to why. I used a single social analytics tool at Gymshark to prove our content wasn’t “just vibes” - it was driving the brand in a way nobody could argue with. That tool was Simply Measured. It got acquired by Sprout Social, Inc. , and it’s been in my stack ever since - from those early Gymshark days to running Butterfly Effect and now standing on the Croisette as an ambassador, talking creator economy and B2B in the same place brands used to only talk TV spots and billboards. Full circle moment on a different level. I’ve been on the ground this week with Sprout, and this hasn’t felt like a typical brand trip. The team are legit. And being around creators alongside The Wishly Group crew - Sara Uy , Brandon Smithwrick 🧠 and Devin Reed - felt less like a campaign and more like watching a shift happen in real time. Conversations are different. Rooms are different. Who people listen to is different. And you realise quickly - this isn’t an emerging trend anymore. Then you look at the data Sprout is tracking in real time: → $4.57M in earned media value → 97% positive sentiment → 95M+ impressions driven by creator community building → 62M+ impressions from Spotify’s creator-led activations alone See more here: https://bit.ly/3QQiM0c That’s the answer. The creator economy hasn’t just arrived at Cannes - it’s driving the attention. And B2B is quietly rebuilding itself around it. We’re early… but not for long. I’m here for the experiments, the data, and whatever doors this opens next. #SproutsocialAmbassador

ICYMI: Yesterday was World Social Media Day and nobody could do it better than Sprout Social. Sprout Social invited incredible individuals from retail partners to content creators to The Log-Off Lounge at Sprout Social HQ in Chicago. Naturally, Gabriela Drager and I had to go. We had the opportunity to meet so many people like Mya Shell 🧩, enjoy bites from Small Cheval and DIPSY DESSERTS, plus this friendly robot (with great selfie lighting) greeted us with pictures for the memories. My favorite part was decorating my “Human Being Behind The H@andle” hat with pins. Thanks Sprout Social, Inc. for an amazing day celebrating all things social media.

When one of your favorite creators is running 30 brand deals at once, how authentic is any single one of them? Scott Morris, CMO of Sprout Social, Inc., thinks that question marks the final innings of influencer at scale. His take from Cannes: most brands treat community as a distribution channel. They show up to capitalize, not to contribute. Creators get the same treatment. Fifty new names every campaign, reach for the sake of reach, then start over next quarter. The brands that win do the opposite. Fewer creators, more niche. Micro and nano audiences, with depth built over time, so the relationship reads as real because it is. Sprout is putting that into practice with its Cannes Creator Network, built to find ways to help creators rather than just borrow their reach. Scott is the latest guest on Be So For Real, Rachel Lowenstein's series where CMOs say what they actually believe. What do you want a CMO to be so for real about?
what are most brands getting wrong about community? I asked Scott Morris, CMO of Sprout Social, Inc. to bsfr with me at Cannes and give his hot takes about marketing.. and he had some spicy 🌶️things to say about community and the “final inning of influencers at scale” 👀 this video is in partnership with my pals AirOps, the growth platform for AI search 🔦 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Curtis Midkiff, Jr. #canneslions #airops #sproutsocialcannescrew #community #creatoreconomy
