  • Your customers are moving through the world in real time, on their phones, out in the world, switching between the channels they actually use. Today's launch is all about meeting them there. Here's what's new: 📍 Geofencing: trigger a message on any channel the moment a customer walks into a real-world place. Native, no separate location vendor required. 📱 Live Activities and Live Updates: real-time updates that live on the lock screen, no app open needed. Think delivery tracking, live scores, ride progress. 💬 Bring your own SMS: connect the provider that fits your region, keep the relationships you already have, and route by market from one workspace. 📥 Notification inbox: give customers a place to return to, so a dismissed message doesn't have to mean a missed one. We didn't stop there. WhatsApp templates you can build and submit for approval without leaving Customer.io, channel and topic preference controls that respect how each person wants to hear from you, in-context tooltips, message frequency caps, and a cleaner platform across the board (dark mode included). It all runs on the same data and logic you've already built, so the more places you show up, the more every moment connects. Want the full walkthrough? Plain text emails are now outperforming heavily designed ones. Personalization beats polish. That's one of several findings from Customer.io's Customer Messaging in 2026 report, presented by CMO Jason Lyman at Business of Apps London 2026, alongside a conversation with Wendy Z., Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Attio. A few things worth knowing: ✅ 96% of marketers are experimenting with AI, but most expect its real future impact to be on decision-making, not content creation ✅ Mobile messaging has become a coordination problem, not an execution one — SMS, push, and in-app each do a different job ✅ Retention needs its own owned metrics. Acquisition ability doesn't determine who wins a category ✅ Introducing AI before building clean systems and data models just scales chaos faster Before any message goes out, answer what you're trying to get the customer to do, why this customer, and why now. Skip one of those, and you are just pushing noise. Full breakdown here 👇

  • Notion is a global brand with millions of users worldwide. That sounds like a good thing until you realize how complicated that makes customer communication. Meli M. and her team needed help scaling communication to people in different locations and speaking different languages. The team set up localized onboarding campaigns tailored to the recipient’s location and language, specifically targeting the Korean and French markets. Plus, they experimented with more personalized campaigns based on product usage. These campaigns deeply resonated with users worldwide, fostering better engagement and leading to a notable lift in conversion rates by 6-7%. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gApQh-27

  • What does your team actually do with inactive contacts? We asked our audience and found out that only 50% have a formal sunset policy. A quarter of marketers run a re-engagement campaign first, then suppress (also a solid option). But 16% copped to being reactive suppressors. And 11% said they haven't done anything yet. What about you? How are you handling inactive contacts?
