We’re focused on the following four principles:
Transparency
We track accessibility bugs, time‑to‑fix, and conformance in our reports (ACRs/VPATs) and conduct independent third-party verifications.
Consistency
We’re working toward extending accessibility to our Marketplace and Forge ecosystems for a more cohesive experience.
Usability
We’re working toward aligning with WCAG 2.2 AA standards and going beyond compliance to ensure everyone can use our products.
Scalability
Standardized design components, tokens, and robust tooling make it easier to build accessible experiences from the beginning.
Accessible from the start
Here’s how we embed accessibility throughout our development lifecycle.
Discover
Conduct inclusive research and usability studies with people with disabilities to support a range of assistive technologies.
Design
Ensure color contrast, provide text alternatives and semantic HTML, and let people adapt our apps to their needs.
Build
Design for alternative input methods and integrate automated accessibility checks during all phases of the development lifecycle.
Test
Run automated and manual testing with industry standard assistive technologies such as screen readers and text-to-speech tools.
Operate
Run quarterly third‑party assessments, track time-to-fix for accessibility bugs, and use customer feedback to refine our roadmap.

The Atlassian Design System (ADS) helps us scale accessibility across our platform, improving usability for all users.
How we measure progress
We bring in third-party experts to identify where we can do better. In addition to quarterly audits, we have a public backlog, time-bound SLOs, and verified VPAT/ACR documents.
