Please view the relevant page for your particular device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"fees\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In-Person Payments fees<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the above requirements, the fees for accepting In-Person Payments are different than the fees for accepting online payments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fees for In-Person Payments are dependent on the country your business is located in. You can find more information on <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/woopayments\/fees-and-debits\/fees\/\">our fees page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"charging\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Charging your card reader<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Allow your reader to fully charge before the first use. Both the <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/products\/m2-card-reader\/\">M2<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/products\/wisepad3-card-reader\/\">WisePad 3<\/a> readers ship partially charged, but we recommend that you charge your reader fully before the first use. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To charge your reader<\/span>, use the supplied cable to connect the USB-C on the reader to a USB charger. A full charge will take a few hours.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a full charge, the reader should be able to process <\/span>600 to 800 contactless transactions<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> before needing a recharge<\/span>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"connecting\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connecting your card reader<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your reader will need to be connected to your device using the WooCommerce Mobile App. You should not pair the card reader in your phone or tablet\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To connect your reader:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to <strong>Menu<\/strong> page.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> <strong>Payments<\/strong>:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image asked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#ffdfb4\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>Starting <em>Oct 13th, 2025<\/em> a new firmware update may require an additional pairing step. If applicable, you will see a 6-digit code on both the card reader and in the mobile app. If these numbers match, confirm on both devices that you wish to complete the pairing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That\u2019s it: your reader is now connected and ready to accept payments<\/span>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"accepting-payments\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accepting payments in-person<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When collecting a payment, In-Person Payments supports the following payment methods:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cash<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Card reader<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You&#8217;ll also be given the option to use <a href=\"#requirements-ttp\">Tap to Pay<\/a> to collect the payment if you are using a supported device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shareable payment link<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This link can be shared with a customer and used to pay for the order online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scan to Pay<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> This will generate a QR code that a customer can scan to pay for the order online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/CleanShot-2024-03-01-at-17.27.48@2x.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"568\" height=\"584\" src=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/CleanShot-2024-03-01-at-17.27.48@2x.webp?strip=all&w=704\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18734003683391\" style=\"width:280px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/CleanShot-2024-03-01-at-17.27.48@2x.webp 568w, https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/CleanShot-2024-03-01-at-17.27.48@2x.webp?resize=300,308 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"what-orders-are-eligible-for-in-person-payments\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What orders are eligible for in-person payments?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orders are eligible for In-Person Payments if <strong>all<\/strong> of the following are true:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The order status is&nbsp;<strong>pending<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>on hold<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>processing<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>failed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The payment method is&nbsp;<strong>cash on delivery<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>woocommerce_payments<\/strong> or&nbsp;<strong>none<\/strong> (the payment assigned when an order is <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/getting-started-with-in-person-payments-woopayments\/#section-7\">created manually<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Store\u2019s address is set to an address in a supported country from the list at the top of this page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The currency is&nbsp;the native currency for the store&#8217;s country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The order is <strong>not<\/strong> paid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The order is <strong>not<\/strong> refunded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The order does <strong>not<\/strong> include any subscription products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-creating-orders-and-collecting-payments\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating orders and collecting payments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With In-Person Payments, there are two ways of creating orders for payments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#build-orders-and-collect-payments\">Build orders and collect payments<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#collect-order-payment\">Collect payments for an order placed online<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that when collecting payment for orders through In-Person Payments, it is <strong>only possible to collect the full order amount<\/strong>. If you would like to be able to charge for a partial order amount, consider splitting that order into separate smaller orders for each separate partial amount you would like to charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"build-orders-and-collect-payments\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Build orders and collect payments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With In-Person Payments, you can build an order in the Woo Mobile App and collect payment immediately. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To build an order and collect payment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Orders<\/strong> section of the Woo Mobile App.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap on the <code>+<\/code> icon in the top-right corner to create an order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To add products to the order, you can either:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scan product barcodes using your device&#8217;s camera.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the barcode matches a SKU for a product available on your store, it will automatically be added to the order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Add Products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you choose <strong>Add Products<\/strong>, select the product(s) you&#8217;d like to add to the order and tap the <strong># Product(s) Selected<\/strong> button to add the product(s) to the order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the order is fully created, select the <strong>Collect Payment<\/strong> button to take payment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose how to collect payment.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cash<\/strong> allows you to accept cash for the order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Card Reader<\/strong> allows the customer to insert, swipe, or tap their preferred payment method using the connected card reader(<strong>M2 or WisePad 3<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#collecting-tap-to-pay\">Tap to Pay<\/a><\/strong> allows the customer to tap their preferred payment method using your compatible device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Share Payment Link<\/strong> allows you to send a web link to the customer for them to pay online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scan to Pay<\/strong> displays a QR code that allows the customer to pay online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-wccom-alert\" aria-label=\"Alert section\"><p class=\"wp-block-wccom-alert__title\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em>For a custom amount without inventory tracking, tap the&nbsp;<strong>Add Custom Amount<\/strong>&nbsp;button instead of selecting a product. This is perfect when you need to add a custom amount to a transaction such as at trade shows, craft fairs, or for services.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper\"><ul class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_swiper-wrapper swiper-wrapper\"><li class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_slide customers to place an order online using the <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/cash-on-delivery\/\">cash on delivery<\/a> payment method to then pay for the order in-person using a card or cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To collect a payment in-person after it is placed online:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Orders<\/strong> section of the Woo Mobile App. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap on the order being paid for.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Orders placed online with the <strong>Pay in Person<\/strong> payment method will have the <code>Processing<\/code> status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the order details and tap on on the <strong>Collect payment<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose how to collect email address is set on the order. You can also send the email receipt manually after the payment<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-wccom-alert\" aria-label=\"Alert section\"><p class=\"wp-block-wccom-alert__title\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>A<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s an In-Person Payments merchant, you are <em>obligated<\/em> to provide your customers the option of a printed receipt for any payment.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"receipt-network-printer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Printing receipts <\/span>on a network printer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If your mobile device has access to a WiFi Network (e.g. for curbside payments or point-of-sale type payments), you should be able to use any printer accessible via that WiFi network using AirPrint (iOS) or Mopria (Android).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Android users may need to install additional software (e.g., the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.brother.printservice&amp;hl=en&amp;gl=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brother Print Service Plugin<\/a><\/span>) depending on the printer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"receipts-wifi-printer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Printing receipts on a WiFi direct printer<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WiFi Direct printers, like the<a href=\"https:\/\/brothermobilesolutions.com\/products\/mobile-printers\/ruggedjet-series\/ruggedjet-4-series\/brother-ruggedjet-rj4250wbl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Brother RJ-4250WB-L<\/a>, have their own internal WiFi access hotspot that a mobile device can connect to directly for printing receipts.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To print receipts using a WiFi direct printer:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>E<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nsure your mobile device has access to cellular data.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>C<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">onnect to the printer WiFi using your device\u2019s WiFi settings.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can then accept payments (over cellular data) and print receipts (over WiFi Direct). This can be especially useful for in-person delivery at a customer\u2019s home.<\/span><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Receipts on iOS are generated and stored on the device whereas, on Android, the Woo Mobile app stores the receipt URLs locally in the app. Therefore, when using an iOS device,  if a merchant collects payment on device A, the receipt will not be available on device B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"collecting-tap-to-pay\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collecting Payment with Tap to Pay<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment can also be made using <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/woopayments\/in-person-payments\/tap-to-pay-iphone\/\">Tap to Pay on iPhone<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/woopayments\/in-person-payments\/tap-to-pay-android\/\">Tap to Pay on Android<\/a>. Shipping zones allow you to offer specific fulfillment options, like <a href=\"https:\/\/woocommerce.com\/document\/local-pickup\/\">Local Pickup<\/a>, to customers depending on where they are located in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"viewing-transactions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Viewing transactions<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Payments collected using In-Person Payments appear in your <\/span>dashboard<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> just <\/span>like other payments processed via WooPayments. Customers using <\/span><b>card-present payments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> can expect to have the following personal data shared with our payments partners:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>T<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">heir location at the time and date of purchase<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">heir email address<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">heir name<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">n assigned customer ID if they had prior payments for this store<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Their address and phone number<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The quantity, price, and description of items in the order<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All data is used to support fraud detection during payment collection.<\/span> You can find reader<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to power off the M2 or WisePad 3 to save battery life, hold down the power button for roughly four seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the device, either the light will go off and stay off, or the LED will display a prompt <code>Power off?<\/code> \u2014 which you can confirm with the green enter button on the PIN pad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"refunds\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Refunds<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can refund your customers&#8217; In-Person Payment just as you would any other WooPayments payment by following the refund flow on their order in the app or on your site via WP Admin.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If an order was paid with <strong>Interac<\/strong>, the refund must be initiated from the Woo Mobile App, and the original card used for the purchase must be presented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To refund through the Woo Mobile App:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Orders<\/strong> section of your Woo Mobile App. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the order you&#8217;d like to refund.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap the <strong>Issue Refund<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adjust the quantity of the products you&#8217;d like to refund.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a reason for the refund, if
