I’m waiting on the proof copy so I can make sure it’s all good to go before finalizing the release date. But...

as I was working on the cover art I was struggling with wanting to be done with this project already. Cue: exasperated sighing

It felt like I’ve been working on this book forever.

This is not the energy I want to have around releasing my art into the world. I’m glad I noticed it, slowed down, and talked to my wife about it. She invited me to reconnect with why I wanted to put it out in the first place, because the reason wasn’t to “get it done.”

It’s because I think the poems might make someone’s day better or help them feel not alone or like the thing they’d do if it weren’t impossible is possible.
