Last Saturday was Paradís Valencia, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Nine talks at CaixaForum València — Tres Tipos Gráficos, Venetia Thorneycroft from Ragged Edge, Estudio Marta Botas, María Cerdán, Caliper, Lara Lars, Your Majesty, Alberto Martínez, and a last-minute addition I want to acknowledge properly. Zak Kyes from Zak Group had to withdraw for health reasons shortly before the event, and we reached out to Ordinari, a Valencia-based studio, to step in on very short notice. They said yes without hesitation, and they delivered. I’m genuinely grateful for that — it’s the kind of thing that tells you a lot about people.

I keep coming back to why events like this matter. You can follow every studio on Instagram, read every case study, have the right podcasts in your ears during your commute — and still miss the thing that only happens when a room full of people is genuinely present at the same moment. The conversation that happens in the hallway between talks. The question someone asks from the audience that unlocks something you’d been sitting with for weeks. The chance encounter with someone whose work you’ve admired from a distance, now standing two meters from you with a coffee in their hand. None of that fits in a feed.

For professionals it’s a recalibration. For students it can be something more — sometimes genuinely formative. The first time you hear someone whose work you admire explain how they actually think, it changes something. That’s also why keeping Paradís accessible matters to me. A ticket that costs less than a dinner out is a ticket a student can actually buy. That’s not an accident — it’s a decision we make every year, because the room is better for it.

I’m already thinking about the next edition. If you have a name — a studio, a practitioner, a voice from any discipline — that you think deserves to be on a stage like this, I want to hear it. My inbox is open.

One more thing before getting into the links, and this one’s a rant I’ve been sitting on for a while. Salary transparency in job postings — why isn’t this universal yet? The EU Pay Transparency Directive requires all member states to transpose legislation by June 7, 2026, mandating that job postings include the gross annual salary or at minimum the expected pay range, while also prohibiting interviewers from asking candidates about their previous salary. In the US, states like California and New York have already been leading the way, with laws requiring companies to disclose salary ranges in job postings. But most large European economies — Germany, France, the Netherlands — are still legislating and will likely miss even the EU deadline. It’s 2026. The idea that you can ask someone to invest weeks of time in an interview process without telling them what the job pays is a form of disrespect dressed up as standard practice. Salary information is not negotiating leverage. It’s basic information people need to make decisions about their own lives. The sooner it’s mandatory everywhere, the better.

A personally compiled graphic design archive showcasing the vast visual identity created by Otl Aicher and his Dept. XI team for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, collected and curated by Alessandro Rinaudo. If you know Aicher’s work — the pictograms, the color system, the typography — you already know why this matters. If you don’t, this is the best possible place to start. The 1972 Munich identity is arguably the most comprehensive and coherent visual identity ever applied to an event at that scale. Every corner of the archive is worth exploring slowly.

Museum Department is an indexed archive of contemporary graphic design and typography — searchable via CMD+K, updated regularly, built around the idea of curating contemporary culture. It sits somewhere between a reference library and a mood board, but more rigorous than either. The kind of resource that earns a permanent tab.

🖥️ Details.so — Inspo

Exactly what it says: the details behind the world’s best websites, updated weekly. Not full-page screenshots — the details. Navbars, heroes, footers, buttons, scroll interactions. The things you notice when you’re paying attention and miss when you’re not. I’ve found myself going back to this repeatedly when working on anything web-adjacent. The curation is sharp.

🏀 He Designed the Knicks Logo 30+ Years Ago. They’re Still Using It. — Fast Company

Michael Doret grew up near Coney Island and was shaped by New York’s rich graphic environment — he says the city is not in his bones but in his brain. In 1991, the NBA called asking if he wanted to redesign his hometown team’s logo, which hadn’t been updated in nearly 30 years. The result — an inverted triangle, extruded block letters, an orange basketball — has been on every Knicks jersey, every courtside banner, and every broadcast lower-third ever since.

The timing of this piece is perfect. The Knicks just won their first NBA championship in 53 years, and the brand is having a cultural moment that goes well beyond basketball — the orange and blue is everywhere, the merch is selling out, and suddenly everyone in New York has always been a Knicks fan. Which makes it even more satisfying that the logo carrying all of that weight is the same one Doret drew in 1992. Longevity in logo design isn’t luck. It’s the result of every element earning its place, and nothing more being added than needs to be there.

🔤 How to Articulate — index.how

A vocabulary resource: the words designers use when they know what they’re looking at. Organized by category — typography, layout, color, composition — with precise, usable definitions for terms like kerning, tracking, leading, optical kerning, tabular numerals, x-height. I’ve sent this to students more times than I can count. Half of design criticism fails not because people can’t see what’s wrong, but because they don’t have the language to name it. This helps with that.

🎵 Brian Jackson — Now More Than Ever (Spotify)

This is the one I’ve had on loop all week. Brian Jackson — Gil Scott-Heron’s long-time musical partner — revisits key songs from their collaboration on Now More Than Ever, produced by Masters At Work’s Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez. Across nineteen tracks, Jackson reimagines classics including “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” “Winter in America,” “Home Is Where the Hatred Is,” and “The Bottle,” with guests including Black Thought, Omar, Moodymann, Rahsaan Patterson, and Josh Milan bringing new energy to material rooted in soul, jazz, and spoken word. Rather than treating these songs as museum pieces, the album highlights how relevant their themes of resistance, community, and social change remain today. A record that feels like it needed to exist right now.

Paradís Valencia is a one-day design and creativity conference held every year in Valencia, and since 2022 I’ve been its curator. Putting together an event like this is a different kind of work from everything else I do — it’s part instinct, part obsession, and a lot of conversations. You spend months thinking about what a day of talks should feel like, what ideas should be in the room, which voices deserve a stage.

Looking back across the editions, the roster has been remarkable. From Brian Collins (from Collins), Yarza Twins, Pangram Pangram and Gemma O’Brien to Braulio Amado, Domestic Data Streamers, Area 17, Pentagram’s Andrea Trabucco-Campos, and Vasilis Marmatakis — and that’s before getting to 2026. This year’s edition takes place on June 13th at CaixaForum València, with talks from Tres Tipos Gráficos, Zak Group, María Cerdán, Estudio Marta Botas, Caliper, Lara Lars, Your Majesty, and more.

I think about why events like this matter a lot. Not in an abstract way — in a very practical one. The design industry moves fast and often in silos. You can follow everything online, have every podcast in your ears and every studio’s Instagram on your screen, and still miss the thing that only happens when a room full of people is genuinely paying attention to someone on a stage. The quality of focus is different. The conversations that happen in the hallway during a coffee break, the question someone asks that unlocks something you’d been sitting with for months — that doesn’t happen in a feed. For professionals, it’s a recalibration. For students, it can be genuinely formative: the first time you hear someone whose work you admire explain how they actually think, it changes something.

That’s why I also care about keeping Paradís accessible. A ticket that costs as much as a decent dinner is a ticket that a student can actually buy. That’s not accidental — it’s a decision we make every year, because the room is better when it’s not just people who can expense it.

🎵 Louie Vega — Live at 214 Mulberry, New York

Louie Vega brings New York’s deep-rooted dance legacy to 214 Mulberry with an hour-long set rooted in house, rhythm and soul. Alongside Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez, Vega is one of the most influential figures in the history of house music — and this set makes the case without needing to say a word. The duo have spent recent years digging through their archive of two-inch tapes for the monthly MAW Lost Tapes series, with unreleased material that rivals the pure power of their best releases. Put this on, then read the DJ Mag piece that follows, and you’ve got an afternoon well spent.

💿 Masters At Work — How Nuyorican Soul Took the Duo Back to Their Latin Roots

This DJ Mag longread is the deep dive that Nuyorican Soul has always deserved. Two decades before Daft Punk rolled back the technological years on Random Access Memories, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez and Little Louie Vega — aka Masters At Work, kings of New York house in the mid-1990s — went back to their own roots. The result was Nuyorican Soul, an uber-lush vision of dance music recorded with an elite team of studio musicians and majestic special guests, adding salsa spice, jazz swing, and soul glow to a disco blueprint — a percussive tribute to their hometown. The eclecticism of the record is a product of their New York roots, with Vega’s father a jazz saxophonist and his uncle the singer Héctor Lavoe of the Fania All-Stars. A record I keep returning to, and a piece worth reading slowly.

🔤 Pica — Font Management for macOS

I’ve tried most font managers and they all eventually get in the way. Pica is a native macOS app built by Josh Puckett that handles logo previews, color themes, full OpenType support, custom collections, one-click activation, and watch folders — and it’s free. The interface is exactly what you want: clean, fast, no subscription. If you work with type at any level and you’re on a Mac, this is the one.

🛠️ Jumyoung Lee — Tools

Jumyoung Lee is a designer and the founder of TypeTypeType, a design community focused on typography. His tools page is one of those rare corners of the internet that makes you want to sit down and play for an hour. The collection includes Dancing Type, a browser-based motion typography tool that transforms text into real-time audio-driven compositions; a dot-matrix text renderer that converts any font into customizable dot grids exportable as SVG; a Liquid Metal Generator for turning shapes or text into fluid, reflective metal; and a motion graphics tool where organic cell patterns grow and breathe inside letterforms, exportable as PNG, SVG, or video. All browser-based, all free, all genuinely surprising. The kind of work that reminds you why typography is endlessly interesting.

🎬 The Art Direction of Zendaya × Spike Jonze

Spike Jonze directed Shape of Dreams, a three-minute surrealist film for Swiss sportswear brand On, starring Zendaya and set inside her imagined “Dream Lab” — where silhouettes shift and fabrics change shape before landing in their final form. This video from Jason Murray breaks down the art direction of the campaign: the commitment to practical effects, the choreographed surrealism, the stripped-back white room that forces you to focus entirely on movement and transformation. It’s three minutes of genuinely beautiful filmmaking dressed as a commercial, and the analysis is worth watching alongside the piece itself. A good reminder that the best advertising doesn’t feel like advertising at all.

It’s a slow, curated index. Almost 900 entries now, and still growing. A few things it is not: exhaustive, scraped, or paid. Every entry is there because the work, at some point, made me pay attention. It leans toward small and medium studios, independent practices, designers who publish their work clearly on the open web. Large network agencies are mostly absent — that part is on purpose.

It’s been getting a reaction on LinkedIn I genuinely didn’t expect. 🎵 Terry Hunter — Soulful House | Black House Radio

Black House Radio is a homecoming for Black DJs and Black sound, paying homage to the past, present, and future of house music — bridging generations of artists and listeners and acting as a guiding light for Black DJs and their sound. This set from Terry Hunter is the kind of thing you put on and forget to turn off. Born and raised in Chicago and introduced to music early by his father — a DJ who played mostly soul and disco at a west side tavern — Hunter has spent decades traveling the globe sharing his passion for soulful house. The set feels like a sweaty 90s basement party: deep grooves, soulful cuts, the whole thing. Pure Chicago lineage. One for the long sessions.

📁 Chus Margallo — Weird Folders

Chus Margallo is a Barcelona-based art director and UX/UI designer whose work I’ve followed for a while — his portfolio site functions like a retro operating system, complete with music player, skate game, writing tool, paint app, guestbook, and CRT effects, and it won Site of the Day on Awwwards. But his latest side project is what really caught my attention: Weird Folders, a collection of the strange, beautiful, and inexplicable things designers accumulate in the forgotten corners of their hard drives. Anyone who’s been doing this long enough will recognize it immediately — the folder called “FINAL_v3_REALLYFINAL_thisone” and what’s inside it. Chus turned that into something worth looking at. Go see what he’s building.

📚 Flat & Bound

Flat & Bound offers carefully selected posters and books on modernist design, architecture, and art — hidden away in archives, analogue testimonies that can’t unfold their full effect, brought to enthusiasts at fair prices to enhance and expand their own collections. The inventory ranges from original modernist print ephemera to limited-edition silkscreen runs by contemporary graphic designers working in the tradition of their predecessors. It’s the kind of site where you go to look at one thing and end up spending forty minutes. I found a Josef Müller-Brockmann poster reprint that’s been living in my wishlist ever since.

🎺 Miles Davis & The Synthesizer — Electronic Sound

This piece from Electronic Sound is ostensibly about Miles Davis’s electric period — the moment in 1985 when he signed to Warner Bros and threw himself fully into synthesizers and funk production. But what it really made me think about was something bigger.

Davis wrote in his autobiography: “The synthesizer has changed everything whether purist musicians like it or not. It’s here to stay and you can either be in it or out of it. I choose to be in it because the world has always been about change. People who don’t change will find themselves like folk musicians, playing in museums.”

Swap “synthesizer” for “generative AI” and you have the conversation we’re all having right now. The parallels are striking: a powerful new tool arrives, the establishment recoils, the purists declare the death of the form, and meanwhile a handful of people — Miles among them — absorb it completely and make something nobody had heard before. Herbie Hancock recalls arriving at a studio session to find a Fender Rhodes keyboard in place of a grand piano, and thinking disdainfully that Davis wanted him to play a “toy” piano. The toy piano changed music. I think about that a lot these days. The question isn’t whether the tool is legitimate — it’s whether you’re willing to be in it.

Freepik started in 2010 as a search engine for graphic resources. From there it became one of the most widely used creative platforms in the world — and then, quietly and without outside investment, it pivoted hard into AI. The rebrand to Magnific isn’t cosmetic: it reflects the consolidation of what had been, from the outside, a confusing portfolio — Freepik as a stock asset library, Magnific as an AI image upscaler acquired in May 2024, and several other AI tools operating under separate brands. Today the business is at $230 million in annual recurring revenue, with video generation accounting for roughly half of it.

CEO Joaquín Cuenca put it well: “The problem was never the product. People saw fragments: Freepik as stock, Magnific as an upscaler. This is the first time the full system is visible as one platform.” That’s a sentence I’ve been thinking about a lot. It applies to a lot of things beyond brand names.

It’s also been a week of endings in another sense. I just wrapped up my classes for this term at IE University — two groups, the Dual Degree in Design and Business and the Design Bachelor’s program. Every time I finish a semester I tell myself I already know what to expect, and every time I leave the classroom having learned something I didn’t walk in with. I genuinely love teaching. And I genuinely love what the new generations are thinking about — the questions they ask are different from the ones we were asking, and that’s exactly as it should be.

Anyway. I’m proud of what we’ve built at Magnific, and excited about what comes next. Now let’s get into what else has been living in my tabs.

⌚ Seiko Prospex SPB515 Speedtimer

A few months ago I stopped wearing my Apple Watch. No dramatic reason — I just got tired of being tapped on the wrist every five minutes. Since then I’ve gone back to mechanical watches full time, and I’ve noticed I look at them differently now. With more affection, maybe. More patience.

Which brings me to this. The SPB515 draws on Seiko’s history in motorsport — by 1971, the Seiko logo was on the hood of a Datsun 240Z racing through the East African Safari Rally — with a 39.5mm case modeled on the 1972 Speedtimer silhouette, and at 12mm, the slimmest profile Seiko has ever produced for its 6R caliber family. A dedicated crown at 4 o’clock operates an inner rotating countdown bezel for tracking intervals — originally designed for motorsport pit stops, but genuinely useful for anything with a fixed endpoint. The orange-tipped second hand is the right kind of detail: purposeful, not decorative. Under $1,000, automatic with manual winding, 72 hours of power reserve. It’s the kind of watch that doesn’t announce itself.

🚗 MINI × Vagabund

MINI and Austrian design studio Vagabund have built two one-off versions of the MINI Countryman that make a statement for adventure spirit, community culture, and festival lifestyle. The rear windows are gone, replaced by a custom outdoor audio system with polymer granite speaker housings, integrated tweeters, and subwoofers that come alive when the tailgate drops. Together, they’re essentially a rolling DJ booth. The detail that kills me: a built-in Sony Walkman on one side. Analog, personal, quiet — set against a car designed to project sound outward. Conversation starters about what a car can be beyond transportation.

While we’re on MINI doing interesting things with designers — there’s a collaboration from last year I find even harder to get out of my head. Matt Willey, Pentagram partner and former art director of the New York Times Magazine, designed the graphics for two one-off John Cooper Works cars in collaboration with Deus Ex Machina. His background in editorial and graphic design shows up in the way these cars use typography and color: bold, functional, and deeply tied to storytelling. The project’s graphic language, including three custom typefaces, was rooted in the revolutionary Formula One achievements of 1959–1960. For me, this is one of those rare projects where graphic design and automotive design actually talk to each other rather than one just dressing up the other.

🥁 Nate Smith — Live-Action Live in London: KOKO

I first caught Nate Smith live with Vulfpeck in Madrid — one of those shows where you spend half the time watching the drummer instead of whoever’s supposed to be the main attraction. Then I saw him again with his own band in Chicago, and that was a different thing entirely: more room, more space, his music on his own terms. A virtuoso with three Grammy nominations and a career built alongside artists like Brittany Howard and Michael Jackson, for whom he co-wrote “Heaven Can Wait.”

This is the full live recording of his November 2025 show at KOKO in London, with James Francies on keys, Josh Johnson on saxophone, and Michael League on bass. Seventy-five minutes. Put it on a big screen if you can. There’s a moment around the 20-minute mark where he drops into something that sounds like it shouldn’t work and then absolutely does. The kind of live recording that makes you want to book a flight.

🌿 Wild — Building Wild Week Athens

Wild is a digital studio I keep a close eye on — they make the kind of work that’s almost annoyingly good in its craft and attention to detail. This thread on X is worth reading slowly. They built the Wild Week Athens site in 1.5 weeks using mainly AI and no-code tools, and their takeaway wasn’t “AI is replacing designers” — it was the opposite: AI shifts the weight toward taste, creative instinct, and understanding craft. The site itself — built to bring their remote team together, celebrate their work, and create space for connection beyond the day-to-day — won Site of the Day on Awwwards. The thread breaks down how the experiment came together tool by tool, decision by decision. It’s one of the more honest and useful things I’ve read on the AI-and-design conversation, which tends to be full of people who are either terrified or naively celebratory. Wild is neither.

📍 Brandays! — 8 y 9 de mayo, La Nave Madrid

If you work in branding, design, or brand strategy and you’re anywhere near Madrid next week — this one’s for you. Brandays! is the Blanc! universe’s extension in Madrid, a space built by and for the creative community where branding and brand strategy are the sole protagonists. Two days at La Nave with talks, masterclasses, and workshops, guided by professionals from the branding and design world. La Nave is not just a venue — it’s a former factory in Villaverde where industrial heritage meets innovation, with 13,000 square meters of open-plan space that manages to feel both solid and flexible. I’ll be around.
I'll be there — though specifically at Brut!, a parallel free event running alongside Brandays! aimed at design students. Brut! brings together the best final-degree projects from leading design schools, explained by the students themselves — pure emerging talent in design and creativity. It's the kind of event I find genuinely energizing, for the same reason I love teaching: the work is unfiltered and the conversations are honest. Yes, this one is me. I know. Eighteen months of silence is a lot to ask patience for, and you didn’t even know you were being asked. So first things first: thank you. Genuinely. Whether you stuck around by inertia or by choice, it means something that you’re still here. 🎵 Eli Escobar — House of Yes (2/6)

Eli Escobar has a monthly all-night residency at House of Yes in Brooklyn called House of Grooves — six hours, open to close, every month. The man is a New York institution. This SoundCloud set from February is exactly what you want from him: deep house sliding into techno, a disco detour, a hip-hop break, and then back to a four-to-the-floor NY house stomper. I’ve had it on repeat during long work sessions and it hasn’t gotten old. One of those mixes that makes you genuinely nostalgic for a club you’ve never been to.

🛠️ designtools.fyi

A site that compares and reviews design tools by role and use case — ranking them by what actually matters depending on whether you’re an art director, a design engineer, or someone who just needs to ship something without a design background. The landscape has exploded in the last year — AI-native tools, code-native canvases, things that blur the line between designing and building — and this is the sanest overview I’ve found of all of it. Bookmark it if you work anywhere near product or design.

🎨 BLKMARKET

The self-described one-stop shop for every digital artist — textures, fonts, mockups, PNGs, Photoshop plugins, all of it. The library covers everything from paper textures and vintage assets to anatomy illustrations and music mockups. The aesthetic is raw, a bit underground, clearly made by people who actually use this stuff. I keep coming back here when I need something that doesn’t look like it came from a stock site.

📖 Pet Shop Boys × Mark Farrow — Wallpaper*

This one hit me hard. To mark the 40th anniversary of Pet Shop Boys’ debut album Please, Wallpaper* sat down with Mark Farrow — their long-term designer and creative partner — for a retrospective conversation tied to the release of Volume: The Complete Visual Record. Farrow has been doing their sleeves, packaging, and visual identity since the beginning, with a minimalist precision that’s won him multiple Grammys, D&AD awards, and a Royal Designer for Industry designation. The interview gets into how specific design decisions were made — there’s a bit about the Yes album tick graphic and how PSB actually removed a track from the record so the geometry would work better. That’s the kind of creative obsession I find completely irresistible.

⚡ Mokkit

A browser-based tool that takes static screenshots and turns them into animated device mockups — iPhone frames, browser windows — and exports them as MP4 or WebM, including a transparent background option so you can drop the animation cleanly into any web page or marketing material. No design skills required, ready in seconds. I know that sounds like a lot of things that don’t deliver, but this one actually does. Useful if you ever need to demo an app or a web product without spending half a day in After Effects.

🛍️ mariaf en Wallapop

Look, not everything needs a justification. Sometimes you’re scrolling Wallapop and you find a seller whose taste is just inexplicably good — the right mix of vintage pieces, things that shouldn’t work together but do, priced like they actually want to sell them. That’s mariaf. I’ve already bought one thing. I’m watching a second. No further comment.

It is curious that months after I stopped writing this newsletter, I still receive notices from new subscribers. I will not deny that it excites me, but I still do not think of resuming this habit.

This newsletter is just to announce something I have been working on since the summer and it will be finished in November. It is the Upscale Conf event, a generative AI event that I am helping to organize in Malaga (Spain) for the 19th and 20th of November.

Now that it seems that practically all the products and services we use are integrating AI I think it is interesting to meet the companies in the creative sector that are leading the most innovative projects. As well as creators who are already using AI for their commercial projects. To learn from all this we are organizing the Upscale Conf, a first edition to be a starting point and to continue in the future, not only in Malaga but in other cities and countries.

Cuando tomé la decisión de empezar con este envío me apetecía probar esta herramienta para compartir lo que me parecía interesante y como método para tener consistencia y es algo que durante mucho tiempo me gustaba hacer. Pero desde finales del año pasado se convirtió en una obligación y fue cuando tomé la decisión de terminarlo. Pensé que la mejor manera era con esa recopilación de todo el contenido previo, para aprovecharlo de algún modo.

Las circunstancias personales, y sobre todo profesionales, desde que empecé con el newsletter han cambiado mucho. Ahora tengo que centrar todos mis esfuerzos en algo que llevo persiguiendo desde hace tiempo que no es otra cosa que encontrar un empleo. Últimamente he ido alternando algunos proyectos como freelance pero no es lo que busco ni lo que me apetece hacer. Sigo como profesor en el IE, pero es algo que sólo estoy de enero a finales de abril.

La verdad es que daría para varios newsletters las experiencias que estoy teniendo en este proceso de búsqueda profesional. La típica (y lamentable) falta de respuestas, propuestas ridículas con además requisitos imposibles, ofertas que apenas llegaban al sueldo mínimo interprofesional, procesos de contratación que se cancelan y no te dan explicaciones…. Y gente que ni responde a los correos y que además considerabas amigos/conocidos de la profesión. En fin, creedme que no resulta nada fácil tener la cabeza en su sitio cuando te toca vivir estas situaciones. Y los comentarios de gente que te dice que a alguien como a mí no me va a costar trabajo, aunque entiendo que son positivos, no ayudan. La “culpa” no es solo de las empresas, por supuesto, hay perfiles mejores que el mío para ocupar esos puestos y yo tengo que seguir esforzándome por convencerles de ser una opción interesante para ellos. Mi sensación es que el mercado no está demasiado bien. Y queda muchísimo por mejorar en los procesos de búsqueda de profesionales. Muchísimo.

This is as far as we have come. This is the last newsletter I will send. I don't know if it will be definitely or if it will be a hiatus and then I will resume it, but right now I doubt it will happen. I don't have the strength to continue with this personal project. The spirit of this newsletter was to share periodically content related to design (and some music), something I have always done and that I find interesting as a professional, but now it is an unnecessary obligation and I don't want this personal project to become a painful obligation.

Honestly, this modest personal project has lasted longer than I thought it would. It was a way for me to be consistent, to stay informed, and to learn. But it no longer feels like that. So many of you have allowed me to raid your inbox. I didn't set any goals for myself when I started this project, just to keep learning, and I have done it.

At a professional level now is a complex moment and that doesn't help personal projects like this newsletter to keep me motivated. It is a complicated stage and I have to approach it as I have always done. And that's why I have to get rid of ballast.

I am not sorry not to continue with this newsletter, you have to do what you think is best for you at any time. It only remains for me to thank you all for having given me your trust and I hope that in some way I have helped you.

• The Master
  At just eighteen years of age, Prince self-produced his debut album, 1978’s For You, writing all the music and playing every instrument himself. Two years prior, Prince, already a multi-instrumentalist wunderkind, met studio owner/engineer Chris Moon, who would change his life by teaching him the ins and outs of recording while also helping him to find his voice and style. With a demo in hand, Moon delivered him to Owen Husney, who would manage the young artist and score a record deal with Warner Bros., setting into motion a historic musical career from a creative force of nature.

• Fashion logos are cheesy
  You can follow the jawn-pollutant metaphor in all kinds of different directions. You might decide to avoid synthetics like nylons and polyesters, queasy about copping petroleum-based jawns, not to mention acrylics (produced using coal) or rayons (produced using toxic carbon disulfides, which cause severe physical and neurological damage in the workers who make them). You might forswear animal hides, or industrial dyes. You might come to see new clothes, period, as pollutants, and try to cop secondhand slappers only.

• Polish Posters
  Terry posters collection also includes over 2,943 posters by Polish authors. Film posters by Polish graphic designers and artists inspired the rise of the Czech poster school in the end of the 50’s.

  Type designers love a good pangram. Pangrams, of course, are sentences that contain each letter of the alphabet at least once, of which the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog is surely the most famous. Lettering artists of the previous generation bequeathed us jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz; puzzlers are fond of the impossibly compact Mr Jock, TV quiz PhD, bags few lynx for its 26-letter world record.

• Invisible Details of Interaction Design
  Design can feel like there's no science to it — only feel and intuition. Even researchers have trouble grounding interaction design practices in science, inherently treating them as a mysterious black box.
