Hannah graduated from South Dakota State University in May 2024 with a degree in Economics.

SUANNE EDMISTON

What is your role at SFCN? I am the State Director in Arizona for SFCN.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I’m originally from New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, and I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tell us about your family! And pets! I am the fourth of four daughters. Much of my family, including my parents, still live in western Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. I now have a cat, but it’s more accurate to say that he adopted me. His name is Mordecai. He ran up to me in my parking lot about 6 months after moving to Phoenix. I definitely had no intention of getting a pet, but every evening I’d go outside to see if he was around, and he usually was. That went on for about a month and when I decided to take him to the vet to see what the situation was, the vet basically said that I was his new owner, declaring “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” The whole thing was actually pretty odd, but he is definitely a treasure!

What's the best part of your job? There are many wonderful aspects, but I think the best part is using my skillset to provide reinforcement to the dedicated, smart and principled members I get to work with on a daily basis. I fully appreciate that government service is not easy when your motivations are correct and your principles resolute. And yet, there are so many forces trying to tear you from that principled path. I enjoy being able to provide whatever I can – research, analysis, facts, data, recommendations – to oppose the corrupting forces of “consensus” (often cronyism, more accurately) at any cost.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? Prior to SFCN, I served on Capitol Hill for almost 11 years. During those years, I worked for three House members, starting in my home district (now PA-16), and then the fourth district of Iowa and the first district of Texas. I was blessed with wonderful bosses, colleagues, and constituents, which made the hard slog in the Swamp manageable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and training, learning from those who battled the swamp daily and tirelessly for many years to keep their constituents as the reason for being. Connie Hair, current State Director in Louisiana, was my Chief of Staff in Congressman Louie Gohmert’s office. Connie knew the State Director in Arizona was an open position, and connected me to Andy and Justin. That was over two years ago now, and it’s been an adventure and privilege to serve in this new and exciting capacity fighting for freedom in Arizona.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? This is really hard, because there have been so many. My parents and extended family definitely formed the foundation. The news, talk radio and lively “debate” was and remains on a loop in my parental home. I’m grateful that I had the principle of intellectual freedom ingrained very early, because I think it allowed me to pursue learning with curiosity, to find the valuable in every source while not feeling the need to accept any one source’s position in totality. With time, I find myself looking more and more toward Jesus in all things. In our work, I think often about how the Lord is such a gentleman, that he does not impose himself on his own creation. I think there’s a strong message to be extracted from that truth that is highly relevant in many aspects of life, including human government: just because a government can impose itself, doesn’t mean it should. I also find Thomas Acquinas very helpful in his commentary on the law and how we make ethical decisions concerning it. I studied him many years ago, but his wisdom is often echoing in my head as I read, review, analyze and assess legislation.

*Pick One To Answer*: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? There’s so many, but I’ll pick a quote that I think is very grounding, maybe even especially so in our times: "Let your credo be this: Let the lie come into the world, let it even triumph. But not through me". - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

HANNAH DETERMAN

What is your role at SFCN? I’m the South Dakota State Director! Ali is a classically trained singer who almost majored in music in college. Enjoy!

EVAN NEWMAN

What is your role with SFCN? I am the State Director for South Carolina.

Where are you originally from and where do you live now? I am originally from Augusta, Georgia. I now live in Greenville, South Carolina.

Tell us about your family! And Pets! I live with my Basset Hound, Elvis. My oldest brother and sister-in-law live in Anchorage, Alaska and both work in healthcare. My middle brother lives in Brooklyn, New York and is a teacher. And my parents live in Augusta, Georgia. My dad works at a tire manufacturing plant and my mom is a teacher.

What’s the best part of your job? The best part of my job is building relationships with the members and the grassroots. Watching the members learn the process, develop their own personal skills, and lead fearlessly is inspiring to me, and energizes me to do the job everyday. The grassroots who dedicate their free time and resources to support the conservative movement with the hope of improving this state for their families and others is the ultimate form of service, and they deserve our admiration and praise for their commitment to the cause.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I worked as a political consultant, specifically helping candidates put together winning campaign strategies as well as helping various 501c3s and 4s execute on legislative advocacy priorities, and I also did a brief stint as a Congressional staffer.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? The 2012 Presidential election was the first presidential election to which I paid close attention. After researching the candidates, Ron Paul became my preferred candidate, and he became incredibly impactful in shaping my political ideology. I’d also say John Warren who gave me my start in politics when he ran for Governor in 2018. John’s no-nonsense commitment to service and real-world business savvy solutions to pressing policy issues have inspired me to always think outside of the box when solving legislative problems and thinking of policy, and remind me that the work is about the people who deserve our best effort.

My favorite book: Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
<div I’m one of the newbies!

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I am originally from Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!). My husband and I have been in Charles County, Maryland since we were married in 2010. We live in beautiful and historic Port Tobacco.

Tell us about your family! And pets! We have FIVE kiddos: Matthew (13), Christian (11), Margaret (9), Jacob (7), and Elliott (almost 2). We have two dogs, an emotionally complicated rescue named Athena and a 10-month lab/shepherd mix named Mira.

What's the best part of your job? I hate boring, mundane, or routine tasks. Being with the Maryland Freedom Caucus every day always brings something fun or challenging to do. This job allows me to be creative, strategic, and bold which is the best part so far.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I’m pretty lucky in that I was familiar with almost all of our MD Freedom Caucus legislators before they officially came under the SFCN banner this year. I’ve been involved in state-level politics and citizen activism for almost a decade. When the position became available, I really felt it was a perfect merger of my skills and interests.

I’ve been a jack of all trades my entire adult life. I was a political science and classical studies double major undergrad, went on to be a special education teacher in the Teach for American Mid-Atlantic Corps, then quit teaching to raise my young family. For the last ten years, I’ve worked for my Catholic parish in full-time ministry. But that entire time, grassroots advocacy was my main hobby. I’ve been in various pro-life and liberty movements since 2015, including leading the pushback against Covid Tyranny in my county from 2020-2022.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? Ron Paul. His way of communicating the importance of human freedom, sound money, and foreign policy just made sense to me. But I would never have given him a second listen if not for my husband, who from our first date was always challenging me to examine my beliefs.

*Pick One To Answer*: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? My family and I adore Hilton Head Island, SC. We love our home state of Maryland, but when we need to smell the fresh air of freedom, we head south 😅.

<a class="image-link image2 And pets! My family is everything to me! I come from very patriotic roots, with two brothers slipping the surly bonds of Earth as pilots in the United States Air Force. I married into an equally patriotic family and met my husband during college. We connected over a cup of coffee and a deep-dive into state politics, and there was no turning back. We welcomed our daughter, Ruth, last July. She loves farm animals, puddles, and spaghetti.

What's the best part of your job? We often say that Wyoming is the last best place on Earth, and it's not because of our breathtaking landscapes and wide open spaces (although those things are a plus). The people of Wyoming are truly special, and the men and women of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus are no exception. I am blessed to work every day with people who cherish our founding principles, who love our country and our state, and who are downright funny. The WYFC members embody the very best of what it means to have a citizen legislature.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? After a few years in the conservative grassroots world of Wyoming politics, I became close with what became a few founding members of the WYFC. I am so grateful that when these members decided to join the State Freedom Caucus Network, they recommended me as a potential State Director. I love my job! Before this role, I was a high school American history teacher.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? My amazing parents most shaped by political ideology, without a doubt. I was raised in a normal American household that valued our nation's heritage. This naturally lent itself to me developing a liberty-minded conservative political ideology.

*Pick One To Answer*: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? My favorite food is french fries, but only cooked in beef tallow. We're on the MAHA train at the Rubino house. No seed oils allowed!

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

DARIN GAUB

What is your role at SFCN? I'm the SFCN's State Director for Montana. I track legislation, communicate regularly with the caucus members about strategies, and help bring media attention to our efforts.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? Montana, our family is one of those that arrived to the territory before it was a state.

Tell us about your family! And pets! We are a military family. We've lived all over the country and traveled the world. For most of that travel, I was not with my family, and it was not to vacation destinations. Our two grown children have the typical trouble answering where they are from, so they say Montana because it's our generational home state and where they were born. Fortunately, one kid lives in Montana while the other enjoys the desert Southwest and can still make it home quickly.

What's the best part of your job? I'm a fighter. After decades of military service, I knew I couldn't just hang up my spurs and watch the world go around, so I sought out service opportunities and found them all over. This position keeps me in the Montana Capitol, where I can continue fighting for liberty while serving in other capacities nationally and worldwide. It also allows me to continue to appear on national news media outlets 4-5 times per week and write for two national media outlets and The Montana Sentinel.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I was at home living the life of a retired military officer when a text came asking me if I'd be the director for something called the Freedom Caucus. Once I found out who from Montana would form the caucus, I jumped in feet first to the point that I was notified and hired in less than a week and started the session right away. Drinking from a fire hose is a hobby of mine.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? My faith. Political philosophies are malleable if not grounded in faith in something bigger than us. As a minister mostly in Southern Baptist Churches over the years, I have made it a habit to bring that faith into the political sphere to help influence the trajectory of a nation.

*Pick One To Answer*: Favorite food? It's the snowmobile capital of the world, and I love getting out in the powder.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" Tim was a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who responded to the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. Enjoy!

COLLIN MOSELEY

What is your role at SFCN? I serve as the Illinois State Director. My primary tasks include formulating policy analysis and communications strategies that assist in making conservative legislators as effective as possible.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I am proud to live right where I was born and raised - Clay County, Illinois. I live in southeastern Illinois, about 45 minutes from the Indiana border, and 2 hours north of Kentucky.

Tell us about your family! And pets! Just north of my hometown of Flora is a town called Louisville, still in Clay County. These two communities share a lot of interests and families, and I certainly did my part by marrying a Louisville girl that I met at our home church, Red Brush Christian Church. My wife Caitlyn and I have been married just under two years, and we have a 1 year old son named Ryker. We are very fortunate that the vast majority of both our families live right here in Clay County, so we are never short on family time and babysitters when needed!

What's the best part of your job? There are many parts of my job that I really enjoy. I am a policy person through and through. While working on an occasional campaign is fun - my real passion is dissecting a bill, and in Illinois usually finding out just how horrible it is, and then writing comments for members to tear it to shreds on the floor and in committee. I especially enjoy when these efforts cause other Republicans to make the right vote, when they otherwise would have suffered from liquid spine syndrome.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? One day during my 8th grade year I was able to serve as an honorary page on the house floor in Springfield, Illinois. It was on that day that I caught the bug for public service and legislation. Fast forward a few years, I was studying political science at the University of Illinois on their Springfield campus, and working in the House Clerk's office. I then finished my degree online while working for State Senator Darren Bailey as a legislative aide, and later as Deputy Communications Director on his run for Governor. During that run I was acquainted with many brave, conservative lawmakers who would eventually make up the Illinois Freedom Caucus.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? This answer is a two parter. My grandfather, Lee Ryker, has had a great deal of influence over my life. He was our elected County Sheriff for several terms, in the same jail that I serve part-time with. His philosophy as a public servant is and was " It's about the people." Serving and working for the betterment of your community and those around you is all he has ever cared about, and I thought that was a trait worth following.

Specific to politics: Former Senator Darren Bailey and I spent many nights in the car when I was fresh out of college traveling Illinois - he poured a lot of conservative values into me that I hold true to today. I still learn a lot from our Freedom Caucus members every day, too. For some "philosophy" - I am usually intrigued by the writings of Edmund Burke, Hamilton, and the likes. Adding historical context to today's political issues interests me.

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? As a former Majority Leader, and Speaker of the Missouri House, I believe I bring a unique perspective and set of skills to the mission of helping the Missouri Freedom Caucus be the true North Star and conservative conscience of the General Assembly.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I was born in Edina, Minnesota while my father and mother were stationed there in 1971. My father (now a retired veterinarian) was serving as a Captain in the US Army at the time so it was just happenstance that my two Missouri parents were temporarily farther north. We returned to the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri in 1973. With the exception of the years of 1989-1998 when I largely lived in New York (Fordham University – 1993, St. John’s University School of Law – 1996, Assistant District Attorney, County of Nassau – 1997-1998), my home has been in and around the southwest St. Louis County suburb of Eureka, Missouri (the home of Six Flags!)

Tell us about your family! And pets! Married to my wonderful and incredibly patient wife, Suzanne, for nearly 23 years. We have two brilliant, fantastic daughters, Katie & Abby. Katie is a sophomore at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Abby is a sophomore in high school. We could not be more proud of them. We also have two entertaining cats, Jack & Oliver.

What's the best part of your job? As a former legislator, Majority Leader, and Speaker, I am thrilled, every day, to be working with an incredibly talented and motivated group of hard charging, brilliant, and hard working true conservatives and public servants. I consider it the highest and most important of responsibilities to do all I am able to share my nearly two decades of experience and knowledge working in and around politics and public policy with the members of the MOFC. When they succeed, our state, and yes, even our nation, succeeds. It is a weighty and humbling experience that I do not take lightly. It is definitely challenging, but it is also exhilarating, and often times, even fun.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? A long and winding road has brought me to the SFCN. I practiced law for nearly two decades, served as President of the Board of Aldermen on my town’s City Council, and then as a State Legislator. I have been on the “private sector side” of politics and public policy for over a decade now, working in the media and communications world (predominantly radio where I now run an evening drive show), and government affairs, almost entirely in the “freedom and liberty” space.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? I work hard to be grounded in my faith (Roman Catholic) and my family, and I consider myself a student and disciple of Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, & Winston Churchill. Never give up.

*Pick One To Answer*: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? As a state senator, Nathan sponsored a bill to rename a highway after President Trump in Oklahoma. It passed into law and it was the first state in the country to do so. Enjoy!

CONNIE HAIR

What is your role at SFCN? I serve as the Louisiana State Director. This entails helping part-time state legislators with information year round on policy, current events and legislation.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? Originally from Louisiana, I moved back home to Louisiana after serving nearly two decades on Capitol Hill, the last 12 on the Hill as Chief of Staff to former Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas. Moving home to Louisiana two years ago was unexpected and welcome! I love my home state and am excited to be a part of the healthy and growing conservative community seeking to Make Louisiana Great Again!

Tell us about your family! And pets! I have extended family living throughout Louisiana, Texas and Florida: parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. When my beloved Yorkie, Babeaux, and I moved back home there were obvious personal bonuses: family, lifelong friends, LSU football and baseball season tickets and all of my extended family now being a short car trip away! Was also thrilled to host a family reunion at my home in the late Summer of 2024 for 54 family members from differing states who had not all been together for, in some cases, decades.

What's the best part of your job? The absolute best part of my job is being part of helping pass very meaningful legislation through our Republican supermajority House and Senate and seeing it signed into law by our recently-elected Republican governor. Spending the better part of the past two decades in Washington, DC, where a moribund Congress has little real impact on things that actually matter to the people who do most of the working, living and paying taxes in America, seeing the legislative process have largely successful outcomes was a welcome change.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? Having worked as a Chief of Staff for a Member of the House Freedom Caucus, I was very familiar with the folks making HFC a successful effort at Congress. When my Member of Congress retired two years ago, Justin Ouimette and Andy Roth, whom I had worked with for years in DC, offered me this opportunity to come home to make an impact in Louisiana. We have had some very surprising results. State Freedom Caucuses have a REAL opportunity because, especially in the red states where the majority of voters are conservative and the majority of their legislators only pay lip service to conservatism, we can make noise and do a lot of truth-telling about what is actually in the bills being offered at the state level. Armed with the facts about what's actually in a bill, legislators and their constituents alike band together to help foster better outcomes. The State Freedom Caucus Network is all about that.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? There are many I could list here from classic to contemporary but a short list of folks I have met and come to know (and read) have had the most impact on my worldview and how you go about making real change in many different capacities: Alan Keyes, Clarence Thomas, Louie Gohmert, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and the late, great Harry Jaffa all make the top of the list. There is also a cadre of rock-ribbed conservative Congressional staff and outside group movement leaders that I've had the honor to meet, work with and argue with over the years who have helped shape my thoughts and principles. God has been very good to me in that regard, crossing my path with great conservative minds along the way who have the faith and heart to keep on pushing, come what may.

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? This one's easy to pick: all Cajun food now that I'm back home in Louisiana!

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

NATHAN DAHM

What is your role at SFCN? I serve as the State Director for Oklahoma. I’m the staffer on the ground working daily with the elected legislators, the grassroots activists, and conservative groups to help us all push and pull united towards freedom.

Where are you from originally? By the time my daughter was 9 months old she had already flow over 2 dozen times.

What's the best part of your job? Being the help I wish I had when I was serving as a State Senator. The leftists, moderates, & “leadership” (but I repeat myself) seem to have unlimited help and resources whereas conservatives always seem to be just treading water or on the defensive. My hope is to help the members with the type of assistance I would have appreciated during my 12 years in the Oklahoma Senate.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I’ve know Andy Roth for years. And I attended the official launch of the SFCN in Georgia. I was a State Senator at the time and had worked with HFC members and other organizations. Before this role I served in the Oklahoma State Senate for 12 years and was ranked the most conservative lawmaker in OK State history.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? Growing up in the formerly communist country of Romania had a huge impact on my views. I saw firsthand the destructive nature of socialism/communism and I hate it with a passion. When I moved back to Oklahoma in 2007 I got very involved politically, mostly because I heard of a true Constitutionalist: Ron Paul.

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? A little over an hour ago, Georgia Freedom Caucus Vice-Chair, State Senator Colton Moore was arrested. What was his crime? He was trying to attend the Governor’s “State of the State” address.

The governor’s speech was held in the State House chamber this morning, where Liberal Republican Speaker Jon Burns had previously banned Colton from entering. Burns banned him last year because Colton had the audacity to say that the previous and since-deceased speaker before Burns was corrupt.

Colton is a duly-elected member of the legislature representing over 200,000 Georgians and it’s his obligation to be their voice in Atlanta. He had every right to attend the Governor’s speech.

This move to arrest Colton was wholly unnecessary and unconstitutional, but expected. Swampy Georgia Republicans dislike Colton because he continually exposes them for supporting bloated budgets and big government programs. More importantly, two years ago he demanded that the Georgia State Senate investigate Fani Willis for her persecution of President Trump. The voters loved the idea and hated that their Republican Senators wouldn’t support the investigation. These Swampy Senators all hated Colton because he had the courage to expose their unwillingness to stand up to Fani’s fake lawsuit.

Two years ago, President Trump even publicly thanked Colton for his efforts. We launched in a new state and publicly supported efforts to stop non-citizens from voting in American elections. Several of our states announced their legislative priorities for the year, and some publicly responded to their respective governors’ “State of the State” address. And to boot, we got national coverage in the New York Times, the Associated Press, and Fox News. So grab some coffee because we have a lot of updates to share with you.

MARYLAND FREEDOM CAUCUS

I traveled to Annapolis, Maryland on Tuesday to help launch the Maryland Freedom Caucus with House Freedom Caucus Chairman, Congressman Andy Harris (who represents Maryland’s first congressional district). Maryland is the 13th state that the Network has helped launch. The MDFC will be lead by Delegates Matt Morgan (Chair) and Kathy Szeliga (Vice-Chair). The Network also hired Ali Rak, our amazing Maryland state director who is going to help the MDFC amplify the voices of the forgotten men and women in the state who have been ignored by the Democrats for far too long. Economic freedom, reducing the size and scope of government, and fighting the Democrat Governor’s tax hikes will be top priorities.

The Baltimore Sun newspaper covered the event:

“This isn’t a red agenda, blue agenda — this is an American agenda that is based on promise, and we’re going to continue to push Maryland to be safer, freer and more prosperous,” [MDFC Chair Matt Morgan] said.

STOPPING ILLEGALS FROM VOTING IN AMERICAN ELECTIONS

Several of our state freedom caucuses have already helped to ban non-citizens from voting in our elections - namely Arizona, Louisiana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Missouri, and Oklahoma. But even more importantly, we need to pass the SAVE Act in Congress, sponsored by House Freedom Caucus member, Rep. Chip Roy and Senator Mike Lee. So all of our state freedom caucus chairmen signed a joint letter and delivered it to Congress. Fox News had the exclusive:

Twelve state chairs of their respective State Freedom Caucuses, part of the State Freedom Caucus Network, are writing to members of Congress and urging them to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

"Illegal immigration was a top electoral issue for millions of voters and their message was heard loud and clear with the election of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. Now it’s time for Congress to listen," they say in a letter to lawmakers, obtained first by Fox News Digital.

THE WYOMING FREEDOM CAUCUS IS IN CHARGE!

For the first time in history, a state freedom caucus - the Wyoming Freedom Caucus - holds a majority of the members in their state house. This is in stark contrast to the Swamp, which often hides its agenda or uses smoke and mirrors to deceive the voters. Below are just some examples of what our states are doing - the South Carolina Freedom Caucus even reminded the public that their priorities are explicitly listed in the SC GOP platform. So the Columbia Swamp can’t wave them away as not important. Cutting taxes and spending, expanding school choice, safeguarding elections, judicial reform, and much more are included:

MEDIA COVERAGE

All of this activity by our state freedom caucuses was made possible because of YOU. The NYT interviewed several WYFC members, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, the liberal Republican governor, the RINOs who were defeated by WYFC-endorsed candidates, and others. The article ends with this quote:

[WYFC member and incoming Speaker Chip] Neiman and his leadership team said they were humbled, as business owners and political neophytes, to steer their state.

“I give the Lord credit for the success we’ve had,” said Mr. Neiman, a cattle rancher, speaking from a government building in Casper, after meeting with the Republican caucus. “I honor him in my decision-making, and I just rely on Him to guide my actions and thoughts.”

Mr. Neiman opened a handsome wooden box. If you missed our last three emails, we did a short Q&A with the Network’s President, Andy Roth, Senior Vice President Justin Ouimette, and our VP of Development Dana Craycroft and Sr. Development Director Sara Prinzi.

This week is our latest hire, Cesar Ybarra, a seasoned conservative strategist who came to us from the House Freedom Caucus. So he’s already part of the family. Enjoy!

What is your role at SFCN? I serve as the Vice President of Government Affairs. I facilitate the Network’s operations in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Andy Roth likes to call me the “King of the West!”

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I am Mexican by birth, American by choice. I’m originally from Tijuana, Mexico, but grew up in San Diego, California (America’s Finest City). I currently live in Arlington, Virginia.

Tell us about your family! And pets! I was raised in a tight-knit family. My amazing mother passed away in 2019 from ALS; her courage battling this devastating disease taught me a million different things that have shaped who I am today. No pets!

What's the best part of your job? The best part of the job is being in the arena. It’s a special and unique opportunity to work alongside courageous, conservative legislators who understand what time it is in America.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I’ve spent most of my time over the last decade working for House Freedom Caucus members and mission-aligned organizations. Prior to joining SFCN, I was Policy Director for the House Freedom Caucus. While serving in this role, I attended the State Freedom Caucus Foundation’s first annual summit in Dallas, TX. It was an incredible event where I got to meet State Freedom Caucus legislators, staff, and supporters. It told me everything I needed to know about the organization; and made it easy for me to say “yes” when I received the job offer from the Network last month.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? My conservative foundation comes from my Catholic upbringing. My disdain for taxes is what originally drew me to the Republican Party, but I think it was a mixture of listening to El Rushbo’s Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies, and working for Arizona Congressmen Matt Salmon and Andy Biggs, that really got me fired up about conservatism. My political philosophy is simple: limit the relationship between the individual and the state.

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? Beach vacations are nice, but the best vacation is the one where you can simply put down the phone, turn off the social media apps and notifications, and enjoy the world free from the screen!

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" Enjoy!

DANA CRAYCROFT

What is your role at SFCN? Vice President of Development

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I grew up in the small town of Earth, Texas-- pop. 1,001! It's a farming community in the Panhandle just south of Amarillo. After college, I spent time living in Washington, DC and Virginia while working in conservative politics, but I'm a Texas girl at heart and settled in Dallas before recently getting married and moving to the Austin area.

Tell us about your family! And pets! I just got married two weeks ago! My husband Greg and I met on a right-wing dating website a year and a half ago (neither of us wanted to use a dating app that asked for your pronouns!). Greg has spent his career in law enforcement and currently works as Campus Security Manager for a large Christian church and PreK-12 private school. Greg (and now I) have a German Shorthaired Pointer bird-dog named Annie and a 15 year old cat named Jihad. My sweet chihuahua-terrier Fitz passed away this summer and I don't think I can ever replace him!

What's the best part of your job? After spending the majority of my career raising money for candidates' campaigns that come and go, I enjoy seeing the vision and long-term investment of our donors in organizing a Network throughout the states that will be a haven for conservatives and freedom-fighters for years to come.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I was Texas Finance Director for Sen. Ted Cruz when he ran for President in 2016. Alongside that, I worked as a Fundraising Consultant for numerous campaigns from State House and Senate to Congress to Attorney General. While I will always love campaigns and elections, experiencing the constant "running" and changing tides of each cycle made me want to be involved in buliding something that would serve as a stalwart for my values after the first Tuesday in November. SFCN is just that, and lucky for me, SFCN Pres. Andy Roth and I had mutual colleagues from Cruz and Club for Growth.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? My Mom and Rush Limbaugh!

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? Favorite place to vacation? Favorite Book? Favorite Quote? At the risk of being cliché, I have to go with Ronald Reagan's 1967 Inagural Address: "Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again."

You can reach Dana at dana@statefreedomcaucus.org or (214) 605-8370.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

SARA PRINZI

What is your role at SFCN? I am the Senior Director of Fundraising

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now? I am originally from Ohio; but 11 years ago moved to East Tennessee, but I am still a Buckeye when it comes to college football!

Tell us about your family! And pets! I am married to my high school sweetheart, I have 2 daughters and I will be a grandma (Omie) in 2025. We have sooo many animals; 3 horses (all rescues), 6 dogs, 4 cats, and a pot bellied pig. We will add this spring to our hobby farm ducks and chickens as soon as construction is finished on their house. At one time we had 27 animals including a fox, cows, lamb, bunnies and goats.

What's the best part of your job? The best part of my job is seeing the wins our lawmakers are having and the impact it has on saving our states and country. Getting to talk with passionate supporters and showing them the many ways they can support us is so rewarding.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before? I came from PragerU as a Vice President of Development; PragerU has a great message and product but I don't believe we have 20 years to save this country with education and felt led to seek out an organization making big changes, right now! Those changes and the fight for our freedom are being won with the State Freedom Caucuses.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology? I was raised in a very liberal household - I voted for Bill Clinton when I was 18. As I became a mother, practicing Christian, and a business owner my eyes were opened. My values and moral compass only align with one party. I have lost friends and family members over making these changes and becoming more vocal and outspoken. We can no longer be the "silent" majority.

Pick One To Answer: Favorite food? If you missed last week’s post, we did a short Q&A with the Network’s President, Andy Roth. This week is the Network’s Senior Vice President Justin Ouimette (pronounced “Wee-met”). We tease him as the Network’s only Ivy Leaguer, but his wisdom and experience is a big reason why we’re so successful. Enjoy!

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now?

I was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Mauldin, South Carolina. Jim DeMint was my Congressman growing up! I live in Silver Spring, MD, right outside of DC. It's not like home, but at least it's one of the 13 original colonies.

Tell us about your family! And pets!

No pets. Alison and I have been married for 12 years but have been together since we were juniors in college. We have two daughters--Ruth is 7 and Greta is 4. The girls are really great. They take us places we would have never thought to go ourselves.

What's the best part of your job?

The best part of the job is that it's important. The lawmakers that we work with are desperate to preserve and protect their unique ways of life in their home states. There is a real, tangible sense that we are at a moment in our shared history as a nation where ground lost can never be regained. The stakes are real, and they are as high as they can possibly be and I love helping them organize, strategize, and meet those challenges. In addition, being able to spend time in states all across the country has been a blessing. There are a lot of great Americans out there.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before?

The short version of the story is that after studying History and International Relations at Brown University then doing my Master's in International Affairs at Boston University, I had to choose between heading to the deep state or the resistance. I chose the latter. I worked as a legislative director in Congress for 2 years then became the Policy Director for the newly formed House Freedom Caucus in 2015. After 9 months, I became the Executive Director of HFC and served in that role under the leadership of Jim Jordan, Mark Meadows, Andy Biggs, and, briefly, Scott Perry before heading to the State Freedom Caucus Network with Andy Roth. The HFC Members wanted a footprint in the states--they knew that's where many of the big battles would play out--and I believed I was well positioned to help inculcate the brand and its values. Learning over a dozen sets of state chamber rules, state constitutions, electoral systems, committee and floor structures, and political cultures has been a lot of fun.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology?

I don't like being told what to do. That reflex led me to "self-radicalize" in college as I continued my study of economics and history and found that what I really objected to was being told what to do by people and organizations that had no right to do so. The biggest offender on this ledger was government. And thus, the misapplication of government power against people became my biggest target. The flip side of this ungovernable impulse is knowing who to obey. I am faithful to God. He provides my strength and my limits.

What’s Your Favorite Quote?

To be successful, we have to figure out what tool to pick for the job and often, how to be the right tool for the job. Up first is a short Q&A with the Network’s President, Andy Roth.

Where are you from originally? Where do you live now?

I’m originally from Salina, KS. It’s a small town in the middle of the state. It’s usually the place where people stop to get gas if they are driving West to Denver or East to Kansas City.

I tell people that I currently live in DC, because like most people who live in this area, it’s the easiest way to explain it. But in reality, I live in “Real America” across the river in the Virginia suburbs just outside the swampy beltway.

Tell us about your family! And pets!

I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Kortney, for over 13 years, and I have two wonderful girls, Abbie (11) and Ava (9). We have a cat, Lloyd, whom the girls adore, and my wife and I respectfully tolerate.

What's the best part of your job?

This is easy. It’s an absolute thrill to watch state freedom caucus members succeed. When we started the Network, we knew that conservative lawmakers across the country have the deck stacked against them. They’ve been marginalized and treated with deep hostility by both parties in the Swamp. Helping freedom caucus members win is an overwhelming joy that is hard to describe. And it’s all because of their hard work (since they are on the front lines) and that of our state directors who are on the ground with them.

How did you come to SFCN? What did you do before?

Coming out of college, I was a stock trader for almost 7 years. But shortly after the dot com bubble burst in 2001, I moved to DC to get my master’s in economics at George Mason University – one of the very few schools in the country that taught free market economics. From there, I spent 18 years at the Club for Growth, most recently as their VP of Government Affairs and then running their new foundation. In that capacity, I had been working extensively with the amazing members of the House Freedom Caucus and our friends at the Conservative Partnership Institute. For years, we had been discussing the idea of helping state lawmakers form their own state freedom caucuses, and we finally did it in December 2021 when we launched the State Freedom Caucus Network.

Who or what most shaped your political philosophy/ideology?

As a Gen Xer, it should come as no surprise that I was heavily influenced by Ronald Reagan and Milton Friedman. But as I got older and dug a little deeper, my views on the world were more heavily influenced by men like Frederic Bastiat, Jude Wanniski, and Ludwig von Mises. However, everything I’ve learned from them is merely foundational. I have gained FAR more knowledge and understanding about policy and politics from the interactions I’ve had with others in the conservative movement. When you’re in the trenches fighting for freedom, the best way to strengthen your grasp on policy and test your resolve is through endless conversations with people in the movement. I’m a big believer in Proverbs 27:17 – “iron sharpens iron”.

What’s Your Favorite Quote?

I have three of them and they all describe the same thing – the forces of evil don’t immediately take hold of someone. It’s done in a very quiet, subtle manner. It’s a good reminder considering the fact that I see evil slowly stick its hooks into people in my line of work.

· "The safest road to hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts." - C.S. Lewis

· "We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have communism.” - Nikita Khrushchev (probably)

· "I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations” - James Madison

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" He needs all the support he can get so that he can enact massive reforms to dismantle The Swamp.

But let’s not forget the states. There is no doubt that the federal government is fleecing the American people, but so are the states. Fighting the Swamp has to be a federal battle AND a state battle. Thankfully the State Freedom Caucus Network is primed for the latter.

Here are just a few highlights to show you how State Freedom Caucuses are moving aggressively forward to prepare for 2025:

After the November elections, the results are in. Of the 106 State Freedom Caucus members who ran for re-election, 99 of them won. Plus, they recruited over 30 new members who will join them next year. All told, there will be over 200 State Freedom Caucus members fighting for you going into 2025. And let’s not forget that over 30 hostile RINOs lost their re-elections in the process. It was a Win-Win-Win scenario for freedom.

Three freedom caucus members are running for State House Speaker. WYFC member Chip Neiman is the frontrunner in his race and it’s going to be exciting to watch him move Wyoming in an unapologetically conservative direction next year. In Missouri, MOFC member Justin Sparks is challenging the Establishment’s pick because the latter is a full blown RINO who routinely undermines conservatives. Both of these races are scheduled for early January. The third, AZFC member Joseph Chaplik, unsuccessfully ran earlier this week in a close vote. But his campaign has put the Arizona GOP Establishment on notice that they can’t conduct “business as usual” in 2025. Congratulations to all three men for their courageous and principled races.

Arizona Freedom Caucus member, State Rep. Justin Heap, won his race for Maricopa County Recorder. We can’t overstate what a big deal this is. The Recorder is in charge of voter registration and elections for one of the largest counties in the nation. As the entire country knows, Maricopa is plagued with election integrity problems. Justin is going into that office to CLEAN HOUSE. This is a huge win for Arizona and the United States.

Missouri Freedom Caucus member, State Sen. Denny Hoskins, won his race for Missouri Secretary of State. Like Justin, Denny has a strong mandate to clean up elections in the Show Me State. As in Show Me Proof of Citizenship before voting!

Our Louisiana Freedom Caucus is wasting ZERO time to enact conservative policies. A special session is happening NOW before 2025 even arrives to cut taxes and spending. They are going to slash income taxes and corporate taxes and establish a statutory growth limit on spending. The tailwinds are strong in the Bayou State. I’ve said before that Louisiana is the most conservative state in the country - not Florida - and if they are able to pass these monumental reforms, their lead will only expand further.

If all of this sounds good to you - and I know it does - please support the Network’s efforts to continue this momentum. It’s not enough to have freedom caucuses in just 12 states - we need to get into all 50. And we have the plan to do it.

One of the Network’s founding supporters, Mike Rydin, is offering a $500,000 match donation if we can raise another $500,000 before November 30. We are currently at $227,965.06 towards that goal. Please consider a one-time gift, or even a recurring gift, so that we’re ready to fight in the states in 2025.

Our State Freedom Caucuses need your help. Can we count on your support? Please donate today so we can double your investment! The match opportunity ends on November 30 - less than a month away.

DONATE

If you don’t want to donate online by clicking the button above, you can send us a check to the following:

State Freedom Caucus Network (not tax deductible)

State Freedom Caucus Foundation (tax deductive)

The mailing address is: 300 Independence Ave, SE, Washington, DC 20003.

We also accept stock gifts and IRA distributions. Rubino)

Friends,

Tuesday’s landslide victory for Trump - and I do believe it was a landslide - was a huge mandate for states to implement a “Freedom Caucus” agenda.

This is our shot and we must seize it.

Thankfully, two of our states - Wyoming and Louisiana - are very well-positioned to do so. Wyoming Freedom Caucus member, State Rep. Chip Nieman, will likely be the next Wyoming House speaker. This is revolutionary because up until now, Democrats and liberal Republicans were fully in charge of that state. But because of the WY Freedom Caucus’s strong and vocal advocacy for family, faith, and freedom, the voters rewarded conservatives with a majority in the state house. The WY Freedom Caucus’s proposed 2025 agenda includes passing strong property tax relief, wiping woke DEI programs completely out of the state, and getting real school choice across the finish line.

The Louisiana Freedom Caucus said “hold my beer” before Trump even won earlier this week. With the help of conservative Governor Jeff Landry, they sponsored and passed dozens of conservative priorities earlier this year - like cutting the state budget in real terms, banning sanctuary cities, and enacting constitutional carry. The LA Freedom Caucus is wasting no time to carry that momentum into the future. They will be in a special session before 2024 is even over so that they can pass strong pro-growth tax reforms and cap spending even further.

The rest of the states in our Network are still meeting resistance from liberal Republicans and Democrats who are ignoring Trump’s massive victory. The Swamps in these states are still clinging to the outdated idea of moving money - your money - to favored special interest groups and ignoring everyday Americans who just want the government out of the way.

These Swamps are going to meet significant headwinds because the freedom caucuses in these states will vocally fight them every step of the way. And we have so much support on our side. The voters, the grassroots, and YOU, are collectively the Army of Freedom who will help us win back these states.

But it’s not enough to just fight these important battles in the 12 states that we are already in. The Network must expand into new states where the eventual goal - THE GOAL - is to be in all 50 states.

This is why we need to meet our current $500,000 match before November 30th so that we can be in the best financial position for expansion and fighting in our current states.

Right now, we have raised $181,644.17 towards that goal. Please consider a one-time gift, or even a recurring gift, so that we’re ready to rock the states in 2025.
