About

If you struggle to keep up with all new features of the web, then Modern Web Weekly is for you.

Each week, I test new features that are available on the web and write about what I have learned. This is not just a newsletter that brings you the same news you can find anywhere else.

I’m always on top of what’s happening on the web. I stay up to date on what features are coming to the web and as soon as they’re supported in some browser, I test them and write about it in plain English.

This is how I can tell you exactly how these features work and how you can implement them in your own web apps.

Who am I?

I’ve been working as a web developer professionally since 2008, but my programming journey already started in the early ‘80s when I was fiddling around with Basic on my Atari home computer.

I’ve worked at ING bank in the Netherlands where I helped pioneer web components using the Polymer framework and later with lit.

I built What PWA Can Do Today, a showcase of demos of what is possible with PWAs today.

I regularly write in-depth articles about what the modern web is capable of on Medium.

I’m passionate about the web and Progressive Web Apps in particular, because I think web apps should be just as capable as native apps and should be freely distributed on the internet, not from within the walled gardens of an app store.

Modern Web Weekly is all about that web.

Join now for free and I promise you will learn a couple of new things each week. With a paid subscription you will even get more exclusive content and access to the whole Modern Web Weekly community.
