Where you went wrong is never where you think it is. Just being good to other people might not always work out. Especially if the person doesn’t want your help. So find someone who can teach you what went wrong.

Issue 3 Part 10 - Hidden Suffering

Not everyone is so upfront about the suffering they’re going through.

Some people prefer to keep their trauma hidden rather than putting it out there for other people to see. They prefer to keep it from those who might be able to help them. Which means they will often have more trauma building inside them until it comes out in terrible ways.

Suffering is like a war that you have to win. Just how much you go through lets you know how much you’re willing to do. At the same time, when it’s over and you have no one else to turn to, it can be so much harder to survive through.

If you’ve been through a trauma, you can understand other people with trauma.

The best part about finding friends who’ve gone through a similar kind of trauma is that you don’t just have one thing in common. More often than not you did a lot more than just figure out how to make your way through it. You also needed to get your life back, even if it’s hard to do.

What someone goes through can really give you a way to connect with them. They may not have felt it in the same way. It might have been a more difficult process for you or the other person, but you still know something. Other people who haven’t really seen it don’t know what it’s like for those who do.

When you’re at the end of your rope, sometimes the best thing to do is feed your soul.

The more difficulty you’re dealing with, the more you can hunger for something to feed you something. Food is a good start but it’s not always where the problem ends. What gets you through even better than food is when you feed your soul with a little hope. Just having someone to talk to about your problems can give you a reason to continue.

Issue 3 Part 5 - Take Aways

Sometimes the best way to get something resolved is to leave it alone.

Moving on is easier if you’re not being seen. This might seem like a bad thing but people don’t really get over things that quickly. So rather than fight through the issue and hoping that things get resolved quickly, leaving can be the best idea. Yet when people don’t have to look at their problems it’s going to help. Maybe later they’ll be more open to being friendly.
