I’m at the excited, can’t believe it’s here moment, where I’ve seen lots of gorgeous exclusive pieces by the artists joining us, I’ve found out what our collab hosts food offer for the day is and entry ticket sales are flowing. IT’S HAPPENING.

It’s set to be a gorgeous day come rain, shine, hail, SNOW? No joking, though that 30% showers on the met office is haunting me. No fear, there’s lots of seating inside at both venues and the grill we promised will just move inside (if rainy). So it’s all go and feeling incredible, I’m hungry already.

Market Highlights

Artisan Market in a restored chapel

I could not think of a more gorgeous and fitting space to bring together a curation of makers who craft by hand, with a focus on limited collections, seasonal pieces and exclusives to be seen first at this event. There will be wheel thrown ceramics, botanicals, clothing, blooms, knitwear, kids clothing, jewellery, glass, homeware, woodwork and leather accessories, browse with a drink in hand and soak in the creativity, it will be there in abundance. Print Fair (our very first!)

This is something particularly special to us, print plays a huge part at our markets, so why not make a cool big thing of it, like a 20+ stall room kind of thing. Explore 100’s of prints and 1000’s of illustrated goods, originals, apparel and stationary. We’ll be joined by HUNK Print Studio, who can chat away about all the technical side of things, they host workshops in Sheffield, and even Alex from La Biblioteka is rocking up with a table full of design magazines, art books and ok ok a smidge bit of fiction for bookworms. Food

This I will chat more about below, because it deserves a whole section of it’s own, but it is in fact the main reason why I said yes to this collaboration, all made in house, all seasonal and the venues are stunners so all-round aligned values.

The Photo Booth

There is simply nothing like the nostalgia and excitement of an instant photo, one that unapologetically doesn’t wait for you to be ready, a gorgeous momento for the weekend and very cute for journals, you can find one at both venues.

Knitting your thing?

We’ve invited two local knit night hosts you may already know Jenny Kim Smith and Kathryn from Knit Sheffield who has hosted with Bloom. They will join us in the afternoon to hold a knitting circle up at the artisan market, a cosy meet suitable for all experiences all you’ll need is wool and needles, seasoned knitters bring your WIP, whether seeking insight into how to cast on, what kind of wool to use or meet some new people with a similar interest, come along it’s free to festival ticket holders. 📍The Artisan Market 1pm - 3pm

For this event I really wanted to lean into learning a skill you can take into summer, we just have the last remaining tickets for print your own wrapping paper in the morning with Izzy and Make a Corn dolly, harvest Favour with Lu in the afternoon, with Bookbinding sold out. Ticket links here

This week has been a little busy one, squeezing in creating content and emails in between life things. It was Lee’s birthday on Wednesday, so though I did sing happy birthday at him at 8am it was swiftly followed with “you need to get up, we’re going to Victoria to get photo’s taken.” He’s had the week off, so whilst i’m in the midst of quite possibly the busiest time of the year i’m also attempting to be a reasonably attentive partner. Which meant work in the morning , and an afternoon spent at Chatsworth on what surely was the hottest day of the year so far? and visiting the new (ish) Italian inspired restaurant in Sheffield Maria, which was exquisite and if you get chance do go, who knew grapefruit and sea bream was a thing, but it’s now my favourite thing.

I’m not sure whether it’s the weather or a new event but i’m still yet to find my flow with the Summer Festival. There is definitely a lot more to take on board, other people’s idea’s to consider and new audiences beyond my own to reach. It has felt like starting a new business amongst still staying firmly endless love creative and even typing this my head starts to go dizzy. What has been a breathe of fresh air is working in a collaborative way with a venue. That Mowbray and Victoria believe in endless love just as much as I and you do and they have created a concept of there own that works with us, the focus is making you feel welcome, thought of, with crafted seasonal food, fresh bakes and summer festival drinks, tons of seating, and weather, rain or shine you’ll be comfortable.

i’m always most excited and in my element when i’m at the venue’s i host in, this is often fleeting, the night before or even the morning of and for this event i’ve visited many times, to enjoy the space from a visitor perspective, though this week I went for work it was such a joy to introduce Natalie our photographer to the space for the first time, see her face light up and love every minute of it. We arrive and I grab us coffee and Nat’s already got the Canon out.

We wanted to capture the feel and beauty of Victoria, we also tried out the new photobooth, but i’ll save that picture 🫣 for another time. We got to chat to Steph on the bar who will be your go to for coffee on the day and I also accidentally walked into a lovely quiet office thinking it was The Lodge where workshops will be hosted, Victoria is like a gorgeous mini maze, secret doors and cosy nooks.

life lately

I hope you had a beautiful long weekend. I soaked up the sun wandering through Sharrow on Saturday, with an Eve’s kitchen doughnut to go and headed to the lovely new nursey from Greystones in millthorpe picking up two dahlia’s all leafy and beyond that tuber bit, which i seem to be terrible at nurturing, fingers crossed this year I have tons of Cafe au lait living there best flowery life. When you’re in the city (sheffield in my case) and its bustling isn’t that feeling just incredible, Sharrow is full of indie’s and it just completely fills my cup. Did you see that post on instagram about ‘if we spend £20 more a week on small business’, over big corporations it would add 29 Billion annually to our local economies” an absolute mic drop from the .

and on that note our Summer Festival will be blissfully independent,I’ve gathered 50 gorgeous artist/maker/crafter/shop owner’s, to share their work, and Victoria and Mowbray will be creating a seasonal menu and fresh bakes in house with local produce. It’s a save the whole day not just the date, with the cafe opening from 9am, market at 10.30 and closing at 4pm, there’s even a BBQ and alfresco bars, plenty of seating, and perfect for catching up with friends.

We’re just 12 days away ( Sunday 7th of June, depending on when you read this) It’s a little different to usual with advance tickets being £2, and on the day tickets being £3, so I’m softly suggesting to grab one in advance, it also guarantee’s entry. find them here on The Victoria’s event page.

Meeting internet archaeologist Erin Jackson Raynes- a new artist to our events - joining us this summer

My practice explores themes of folklore, ritual and tradition through archival imagery, and I like to work with a mix of contemporary and traditional craft to showcase the weird and the wonderful things that I find.

I’m a printer and bookbinder by profession and I’ve been printing my own books for the last 12 years. I make all of my books myself and I love every part of the book making process, from the intensity of the research to the freedom of the design, to the mathematical precision of printing and the therapeutic repetition of binding.

I like to work with historic artwork and texts that are in the public domain, and look to reanimate them through research and reproduction. I see my work as a facilitation of these materials, making them easier to discover and explore for others. Contemporary book arts creates a space for me to process my ideas, and allows me to bring niche subjects and content to new audiences.

New ideas for a book usually start when I come across a little nugget of information that I find intriguing. This could be a new fact or a new word, a story of something weird or a rumour of something mysterious, traditions long forgotten or rituals reemerging in new ways. Inspiration can come from all over — folk tales, archeology, architecture, fashion, textiles, interior design, traditional craft, astrology, religion. I feel most drawn to material that highlights social and community history, how we might see ourselves in that history, how stories can connect people across time, and how that might inform or reflect the way we live now. I guess the common thread that runs through my work is the idea of preserving ideas and knowledge that I think shouldn’t be forgotten.

My primary sources for material are digital archives, really old blogs, reddit pages, going through hashtags. I have recently been describing my practice as that of an ‘Internet Archeologist’. I just love the process of scouring an archive to see what could be there. There’s something about discovering a long-forgotten image or phrase or symbol in the dusty back corridors of a museum’s online collection that drives my love of the research and the need to share it — the thrill of the chase and the sweet victory of finding an original source or high definition image that might have otherwise remained buried in the digital depths.

The process for designing a book is different every time. Sometimes it feels immediately visual and I can picture every detail, sometimes the ideas literally come to me in a dream (must spend a bit too much time thinking about books), and sometimes I have to put the project down a few times before I can get all the pieces to fit together. As much as possible though I like to let the subject matter lead me on the look and feel of the book, as well as the materials, print processes, binding styles etc. This could exploring historically accurate forms of the book, using paper that evoke a certain feeling or using typefaces specific to a certain time period. For example, Black Shuck (2024) explores the legend of the demon dog of East Anglia which appeared one night in a church with a clap of thunder, only to tear through the congregation and kill two worshippers. The book incorporates a tactile, almost furry paper stock as the cover, and sections printed on bible paper to provide a physical connection to the materials that those worshippers would have been holding on that fateful night.

If you were after something analog to add to your bag this Summer you’re in the right place. We’re bringing together three beautiful traditional craft workshops, not a cable or plug socket insight.

In this mini interview I ask Lu what her workshop will be like

“You come from a line of straw braiders—three generations of hands shaping this craft. What feels most special to you about keeping that tradition alive, and what might surprise people about it?”

What feels most special is the sense of continuity - that I’m using techniques passed through generations of hands before mine. It connects me to my family, but also to a deeper history of seasonal rural work and careful, skilled making.

“You’ll be working with wheat gathered in Norfolk, shaped by its own season and place. How does that sense of origin find its way into what people will make on the day?”

We’ll be using a heritage wheat called Squareheads Master, grown in Norfolk, with long hollow stems and rich, rust-coloured heads (ideal for straw work). Varieties like this, along with Maris Widgeon, were widely used before the craft declined after the 1970s.

That sense of place is part of the making, so each piece becomes a small connection to the land and its history.

There’s something quietly beautiful about making with your hands. What does the rhythm of straw braiding feel like for you, and what do you hope people carry with them after the workshop?”

Straw plaiting is a slow, repetitive process - there’s a rhythm to it that becomes meditative. I hope people leave with that sense of calm and satisfaction, and a bit of confidence in making something by hand from simple materials. (further info below)

A little note for those who love brunch.

Below our artisan market is a cafe and bar called clubhouse social who will be serving up gorgeous seasonal plates and fresh bakes made in house, they’ll be open a little earlier than our market at 9am for early birds who love a coffee first thing (who doesn’t). I had an exceptional cookie last time, pistachio, with gooey white chocolate. I don’t know what the menu is just yet, but I know they’re planning something a little different just for us, so when I hear I’ll let you know here first, and if the weathers gorgeous 🤞🏻 there’s lots of outdoor seating . Both venues are dog friendly too. (note: I think the venue is cashless, but makers will accept both cash and card)

Where have I been, not far, mainly here at home, finally learning how to use google forms, which this week I put to great use as I embarked on 912 autumn/ winter market applications. If you applied, my heart is full, from one independent business to many others I am so grateful you thought of endless love.

I’ve been doing that thing where gorgeous things happen and I have every intention of writing a substack but by the time I sit at my laptop I feel like the moments gone and I’ve missed the boat, so I’m going to put those lovely notes to one side for now, and instead chat away about an exciting event thats just around the corner.

Lets start at the beginning.

It’s February, market seasons coming to a close, I’d hosted my first ever Autumn through to early Spring curation of events, six in six months, this human was tired. I was so ready for a little break, a puzzle, Pinterest just because and the return of MAFS, but then something landed in my DM’s, too good to miss.

‘Would you be up for hosting a summer market with us?”

Us being The Mowbray and Victoria two incredibly beautiful restored sister venues in Neepsend, Sheffield. Think reclaimed wood, golden glow lighting, and the warmth of exposed brick, they’ve hosted 100’s of wedding, talks, supper clubs and there own festive markets and now Endless Love Creative.

This will be a collab, our first, something special to bring in the warmer months we’ll celebrate beautiful craftsmanship through an artisan market and thoughtful printed goods at our very first print fair, you’ll find us hosting across the two venues. Victoria kitchen will be creating a sensational seasonal offering, locally sourced produce and in house baked goods, with alfresco bars and space to stay for the day, enjoy a slow Sunday and the most wholesome atmosphere, for a Summer Festival in the city.

Endless love curations change each season, you’ll see familiar faces amongst lots of new artists, we only host three markets at Workstation a year, making them this big unique celebration of independent design. The atmosphere is always so lovely and inspiring and we lean into the seasons, for this one expect valentines and galentines idea’s, new homeware pottery and gorgeous textiles and spring pieces, uplifting botanicals, and new key items for your wardrobe.

to be honest, i come and go with valentines, but when the line up is this cute i think it’s slightly unavoidable, i’ve been dropping hints all week to my partner, but what i do know is i’ll definitely be buying something for myself regardless, whether it’s a delicious raspberry and rose ice cream from fennells or a teeny demon with a heart from metal by chaz , there will be so many adorable and fun pieces to pick out.

Things to come

This trip has notably inspired the upcoming markets, full of cosy ethereal palette’s and grounding textures, you’ll see there’s even more ceramics and jewellery joining endless love this season, looking to functionality and wearability, pieces that serve you every day. I’m excited to showcase more makers new to ELC and even more original pieces and limited editions.

Cornwall

We stayed three nights in a little studio in between St Ives and Porthleven, meaning our Airbnb sat in an idyllic country setting of winding roads and over grown hedges, in-between a harbour with the most beautiful views and on my bucket list Barbara Hepworth’s studio. The spaces we visited by the sea were both homely and artistic, houses turned into independent shops, with warm textiles and art placed like collected items.

We arrived pretty late the first day and all I wanted to do was see the sea and find food, heading straight to Mussel shoal on the harbour of Portheleven, I sat on the stool with my feet dangling over the water eating fish and watching the seaweed shimmy. As the sun set we headed to The Ship Inn, an immaculate pub, coasters on the ceiling, nestled in a cliffs edge, with local ales and double sized portions, we sat at the bar having a stout getting food envy. We returned to Porthleven in the morning to grab a coffee from origins and the best bagel I’ve ever had from a little pop up called CEDs, Lee’s bagel had a pizza baked into the bread, we’re talking pepperoni and everything.(blew my mind).

The next day we headed to St Ives with a couple of none negotiable’s on the to do list, Hepworth, Palais Provisions and Tate. The one thing I didn’t expect from St Ives was the scale of artist galleries and studio’s, many not easily found online, like St Ives Ceramics with it unassuming front has a vast amount of classic and contemporary works beautifully curated.

Palais Provision has been on my instagram saves for a while, featuring handmade ice cream, beautiful coffee and a curated art meets antique shop. I loved the steel ice cream bowls, handcrafted mugs with their lion branding and walking into the quiet curated art and antique space upstairs.

A highlight of the trip was coming across St Eia restaurant, just off the beach, around the corner from Tate, set in a beautiful seaside cottage, local produce and organic wines. It felt easy and comfortable, like you were part of it, not just a guest, still regretting not grabbing a cute tote and a coffee to go, both looked delicious.

Going to Cornwall was quite a drive so we really wanted to squeeze in loads, we also visited Lizard I think the most south you can get, known for it’s wildlife walks and sea views, it had a real Wes Anderson feel to it, huge lighthouse, old boats and a look out for seal watching.

A couple of things we missed which I would have loved to see and do, riding the steam train near leedstown, Milieu Studio in St Ives, sadly closed the day we visited and grab a Yallah coffee, which many of you recommended on instagram.

Did you see we’ve just announced a cute workshop with Illustrator and charm maker Victoria Catten, creating your own keyring charm at our upcoming sheffield market on saturday 7 February, tickets have nearly sold out, which is like woah, but also, of course! it’s the cutest idea ever, so if you fancy joining a wholesome workshop with lovely people on a Saturday afternoon, then browsing the market, this is for you, go get them while you can.

Situated on the Quayside in Gateshead, a 10-15 minute walk from Gateshead Town Centre, or a 15-20 min walk from Newcastle city centre for Newcastle train station. Baltic is accessible for pedestrians from the Newcastle Quayside over the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

Market Doors open on level 1, 11am - 5pm

Baltic will be open from 10am, why not nip to an exhibition before and join us for opening, we’ll open doors bang on 11, get first dibs on all the originals and be the first to see the market.

Accessibility

The Market will take place inside on Level one of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, on arrival you’ll want to head to the back of Baltic ground floor, where you’ll find a lift or stairs to your right.

Our floor will be joined by coffee and doughnut stand Deep North. There are accessible toilets to the right and left of the entrance to the Market.

The market can get busy for a quieter shopping experience we suggest arriving just before doors open 11am to be the first to enter or between 4pm and 5pm.

Exhibition - Saodat IsmailovaAs We Fad

- Working between Paris and Tashkent, Ismailova came of age in the post-Soviet era Uzbekistan. Her work interweaves rituals, myths and dreams within the tapestry of everyday life.

Exhibition - Saelia Aparicio: A Joyful Parasite

A major solo exhibition by London-based Spanish artist Saelia Aparicio. Using installation, sculpture and murals to weave together narrative, science fiction and ecological speculation A Joyful Parasite explores the complex entanglements between bodies, environments and systems of care.

• Choir performance from Sisters In Harmony taking place on the Ground Floor at 12:00.

• A favourite from previous markets ceramic artist Qi fang Colberts has her own show on the ground floor opposite the wonderful Baltic Gift Shop.

• If the weather stays in this unusual warmth, it’s the perfect time go up to the viewing tower to look out onto the river offering spectacular views of the city.
