Approaching this challenging topic, my hope is that you engaged with The Enigma of Evil Part One in the spirit of curious inquiry. In said Part One, I shared my own journey around this important enigma. I also explored the perhaps surprising etymology of the word “evil” and shared philosophical concepts that underlie the inquiry. In particular, I introduced the importance of Free Will as essential to the inquiry, and its possible solution. Lastly, I introduced the work of Rudolf Steiner, for whom the encounter with evil was a life-long project.

“What people in this fifth post-Atlantean epoch must learn to recognize is the fully conscious struggle against the evil rising up in the evolution of Humanity.” Rudolf Steiner, 18 November 1917

In these times, many people seem to prefer simple black-and-white definitions, such as

Evil does not exist

• Good and Evil are two overarching cosmic principles

• or even, as in some Gnosticism sects, that Evil itself is the Prime Reality.

This Part Two goes beyond those simplifications.

The Three Forces

To understand Steiner’s solution, three separate components of the evolution of global humanity are necessary to be understood:

• the Luciferic

• the Ahrimanic (also called Satanic)

• and the authentic pure human, with a heart-centered connection to the etheric Christ or Christos-Sophia.

The Luciferic Force

According to Steiner, an incarnation of Lucifer occurred around 3000 BCE, likely the mythical figure known as the Yellow Emperor. What is important to know is that the Luciferic force is not evil per se, but rather a product of the development of personal ego. Steiner refers to this as the “I”.

This development happened in highly advanced beings, but was not available to the general population until the time of Christ, or as i feel, even earlier, around the time of the Uranus-Neptune-Pluto conjunction in 566 BCE. What emerged then was individual consciousness, including the beginning of individual birth charts. Soon after arrived luminaries including Plato, Socrates, Pythagoras, Zoroaster, Lao-Tzu, the Buddha, and many others. The main contribution of the Luciferic was idealism, optimism, creativity, and the expanded view. Sadly, the downside is huge! In short, it is the idea of “scientists” that they can be God without God. Can you see the problem? It’s the huge shadow of egoistic individuality.

Steiner broke from Theosophy, among other things, because they were primarily Luciferic. It is an interesting side-note that the Theosophists changed the name of their organization from Lucifer Trust, to Lucis Trust! Nevertheless, the Luciferic aspect was important for humanity, as it also contributed freedom and free-will. From an etymological perspective, Lucifer means the “Bringer of Light”, and this connotation remains with morning star Venus, referred to as Venus Lucifer, which is a far cry from being “evil”.

The Ahrimanic Force

Steiner borrowed this term from Persia and Zoroastrianism. Ahriman is a term that might confuse people today, but matches what many refer to as Satanism at this time. This is also seen to be part of human evolution, not some alien force. It mainly refers to

• materialism

• the rejection of higher consciousness

• and the attempt to prevent any ascension to higher realities at all.

At the end of Kali Yuga, the time we are now in, the deepest descent into matter, the very culmination of involution, the powers that shouldn’t be deeply love this impulse. The entire endeavor of reducing the human being to an algorithm and digitalized token is an Ahrimanic endeavor. The final outrage at the end of Kali Yuga is this desire to digitalize and tokenize everything, not “just” human beings. Steiner also feared that in the 21st century, the forces of Lucifer and Ahriman would forge an alliance. He felt that the Luciferic Age as the dominant ended and the Ahrimanic Age commenced, and believed there would be an incarnation of Ahriman. This is, of course, where individuals “sell their soul” for material and temporal advantages.

The Christ Impulse and Christos-Sophia

Unique to the philosophers and spiritual teachers I have respected and been influenced by since the 1960s, Steiner has a three-fold approach. What he means by Christ is not some re-incarnation of Jesus, but rather an etheric Christ, accessible to all, incorporating strong Spiritual Will and free choice. This matches what I’ve been writing about since the 1970s, namely the “Aquarian Dispensation”, meaning that human beings can directly access what it is to be an authentic human being, connected to the Good and the Virtues. An equivalence is seen between the Sun, etheric Christ-Jesus, and Archai Mich-ael. The union of the Sacred Masculine and Sacred Feminine is affirmed with the spiritual agency of Christos-Sophia.

This authentic and pure human stands between Lucifer and Ahriman, recognizing both as part of the natural evolution of human beings at this great Turning of The Ages, but needing to be infused with Love, Heart, Spirit and Soul in order to redeem the fallen proclivities, the materialistic temptations, and egoic misunderstandings. For Steiner, the confrontations with Lucifer and Ahriman are essential for a human being, who out of freedom and free will chooses the Good and the Christ within.

It is Ahriman that emphasizes technology, with a rejection of Consciousness and Spirit, a downward thrust into only the material, and even sub-nature. It was in the early 1900s that mainstream science as well as medicine eliminated aether (Prana, Chi, Orgone etc) from the equation. However, Steiner was no Luddite. He felt that not only evil, but also materialistic technology was inevitable, and must be faced and infused with spirituality, ethics, morality and the Virtues. If those values, freely chosen, did not take hold, he was not optimistic about the fate and destiny of global humanity. In short, it is the Christ center of a person, standing between the materialistic tendencies of Ahriman (Satan) and the egoic megalomania of Lucifer, that can redeem both.

As I understand Steiner’s work, what is known as Christ, is actually the authentic heart-centered human being. And with the “Aquarian Dispensation” now available to all, a conscious choice can be made to integrate both Ahriman and Lucifer into a fully evolved human being. Different names can be used that refer to pretty much the same agencies to help bring this about: Christos-Sophia, Archai Mich-ael, the Sun. The individual human, and now also collective humanity, must face the abyss, the temptations to abandon our Christ-center, and descend into evil. A free choice can be made to not do that.

Social Darwinism

A brief digression is called for here. The evolutionary theories of Darwin, rightly or wrongly applied, fed into a social philosophy known as Social Darwinism. This presupposed the “survival of the fittest”, giving rise to a variety of racial theories, as well as eugenics. These views basically perceived human beings as animals, just slightly more intelligent. Steiner, and many others including myself, disagree. A human being can often behave in animalistic ways, not to speak of Luciferic and Satanic ones. But for Steiner, the authentic heart- and Christ-centered human being (Homo Sapiens Sapiens 1.0) is intended to be and can choose to be moral, ethical, and an inalienable sovereign connected directly to their divinity as a child of God (or whatever term you choose here). This mirrors the truly revolutionary United States’ Declaration of Independence document, declaring inalienable rights bestowed by the Creator, rather than by the state or a government.

It was because Steiner felt and publicly expressed that evolution can only happen in the individual, not the state or any government or collective, that the State Socialists of Germany (Nazis) had him poisoned and destroyed his first center, the original Goetheanum.

Differing Timelines

My own research into cosmology, astrological ages, and the Yugas, compel me to differ with Steiner’s writings in one point: with regards to the timeline that he proposed. Basically, he was following what was known at the time from scientists and from the views of various extant mystery schools and esoteric societies. The early 20th century was rife with theories about a New Age and the end of the Kali Yuga. There are even books from that time announcing the beginning of the Age of Aquarius! See my article here. Mostly it was believed that the Kali Yuga was ending just before 1900.

The recent work of Bibhu Dev Misra has corrected such earlier assumptions and underpinned that the Kali Yuga in fact ended last year, 2025, at the Aries Equinox. See my most recent conversation with Bibhu and our first interview with him. My own research on the astrological ages has revealed that the center point of this Great Turning, i.e. the end and beginning of an entire 26,000-year precessional cycle, was in 1998, with the larger time frame being 1962-2034.

Steiner had projected thousands of years into the future for the changes we see happening now. To his credit though, he made a number of prescient predictions about the 21st century, probably the most widely known about vaccines being given to disconnect people from Spirit and Divinity. He also offered clues about the grip of technocracy, technologies without morals and ethics, and even saw a spider web encircling the Earth. We may rapidly be moving into a time he referred to as “the war of all against all”, the alliance of the Ahrimanic with the Luciferic, characterized by materialistic data harvesting, digital twins and human tokenization, in tandem with self-styled oligarchic billionaire “elites” trying to be God without God.

Steiner also thought there would be a physical incarnation of Ahriman, even stating 1998 as the birth year. Would that be the so-called “Anti-Christ”? And what about the seven years of “tribulation”? A topic for another time …

Evil Masquerading As Good

When looking for simplistic black and white answers, I wish to share a few other examples of what I have directly experienced within “spiritual” organizations. In the 60s and 70s I gathered experience with Scientology, EST and Transcendental Meditation.

Fortunately my time with the first two was brief. But my skeptical nature still impelled me to explore their back stories. Scientology, at its core, is rather similar to some versions of Gnosticism. The teaching is that our world is the creation of an evil god-like entity and our experience on Earth a “Con”, a prison that needs to be escaped from. Although my first EST training experience in 1978 was helpful, I soon learned that much of their philosophy and techniques derived from Scientology, and that EST also viewed life as a “Con”. Both organizations were all about sales, marketing and recruiting, built on hierarchal top-down structures. I even discovered that EST founder Werner Erhard had previously been the sales manager for Grolier Encyclopedias. Strangely enough, my second summer job was selling those encyclopedias. I only lasted two weeks though, as the manipulative sales techniques were so offensive.

My stint with TM was much longer. For a number of years I even entered the inner circle. To Maharishi’s credit, I never discovered a belief in a world ruled by an evil God. However, TM had its own shadows, with classism, the love of being connected to the business, family ruling elites, and money the most prevalent. My heart was broken deeply by these discoveries, and it was a profound learning experience. I was also not at all surprised to recently learn of the Maharishi International University’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein and CIA and KGB links.

I’d place all of these experiences in the category of evil masquerading as good … But then - what to make of Evil and the enigma?

Back To The Etymology

At this stage, I want to revert back to the etymology that provides additional clues towards a satisfactory solution to the enigma of Evil. From Part One of the Inquiry:

“Etymology:

I love etymology and the origins of the word “evil” are quite interesting. As you all know, I loath AI. But I do value research tools, and in this case, it did offer value to this research.

The etymology of “evil” traces back to a word meaning “to go beyond limits,” originally signifying something “uppity” or “excessive” rather than morally sinister.

Linguistic Evolution

Proto-Indo-European (PIE): It likely stems from the PIE root *upelo-, a derivative of *upo, which means “up” or “over”. This suggests the original concept was about “exceeding due limits” or extremism.

Proto-Germanic: The PIE form evolved into *ubilaz, which meant “bad” or “vicious”.

Old English: The word became yfel, used broadly by Anglo-Saxons to describe anything bad, cruel, unskillful, or even a disease (e.g., “the king’s evil” or scrofula).

Shift in Meaning

Broad to Specific: In Old and Middle English, “evil” was simply the standard word for “bad”. It wasn’t until the 18th century that it solidified its modern meaning of extreme moral wickedness.

Replacement by “Bad”: Over time, the word “bad” (which originally had a narrower meaning) took over the general senses of disapproval, while “evil” became reserved for the most serious moral offenses.”

As you can see, the original meanings included uppity, excessiveness and exceeding limits, without the latter connotations we assume to be true now. Using this original etymology, evil would be excessive or extreme Luciferic or excessive or extreme Ahrimanic behaviors. The extreme of being God without God would be Luciferic evil. The denial of Consciousness, Spirit and Soul etc. would be Ahrimanic evil.

The foundation for confronting and possibly transforming both forms of evil through Love are rooted in the Christ-Center of the authentic pure human being, cultivating morals and ethics, and a connection to our sovereign divinity, consciously willing the Good. It compels a rejection of Social Darwinism, disavowal of God-like Megalomania, and a rebuttal of the installation of a digital materialistic technocracy including surveillance grid (the spider web of thousands of satellites) and digital twins that are but shallow simulacra of our actual Creator.

Freely Choose Something Different

At the onset of this inquiry into the enigma of evil, in Part One, I speak of the three terms of the One Reality: Sat-Chit-Ananda. In line with that, I clearly place myself with those who believe and experience the Universe that we find ourselves in as being inherently Good, neither a con, nor a prison, nor created by an evil demiurge. In my constantly organically evolving philosophical and spiritual understanding, I find Steiner’s solution to make the most sense.

Evil exists and must be confronted. Human beings are not just (sometimes) more intelligent apes. The Luciferic and Ahrimanic extremes must be recognized as evil. But this recognized and called out evil is also part of our natural human evolution and not an alien force. In fact, at the end of Kali Yuga and at a Great Turning, it is a gift that we authentic humans and Seed People can recognize evil so clearly - and freely choose something different.

Finalizing, here is short piece in Rudolph Steiner’s own words:

“The free choice between good and evil

For if it were impossible for man to sink into the abyss of evil, then what on the one hand we call love and on the other freedom would also be unattainable for him. To the occultist freedom is inseparably connected with the concept of love. Love would be impossible for man and freedom would be impossible for man without the possibility of sailing down into the abyss. A man unable, of his own free decision, to choose good or evil, would be a being only led on a leading-string to a good which must be attained of necessity and who had no power to choose the good of his own fully purified will, by the love which springs from freedom. If it were impossible for man to follow in the trail of the monster with the two horns, it would also be impossible for him to follow God out of his own individual love. It was in accordance with a wise Providence that the possibility of freedom was given to a mankind which has been developing through our planetary system, and this possibility of freedom could be given on no other condition than that man himself has to make the free choice between good and evil.” Steiner, Rudolf, The Apocalypse of St. John: Lectures on the Book of Revelation (CW 104), Anthroposophic Press, (p. 220), Kindle Edition. Over the next 4-5 days there are several remarkable astronomical and astrological events to bring to your awareness: a significant New Moon, a beautiful planetary display in the evening sky, and, as the 250th birthday observances approach, new insights about the United States’ natal chart.

The Gemini New Moon

The exact New Moon was Sunday, June 14, at 7:54PM PDT / 4:54AM June 15 in Giza, with Moon and Sun at 24Gemini03. This is remarkably close to the Galactic Edge (what astronomers call the galactic anti-center). At this time in The Great Turning, the Galactic Edge, exactly opposite Galactic Center, is 27Gemini13. Since we are still in the Lunar Standstill Season, less than a day later, the Moon reaches 27N58 North Latitude, the farthest remaining Lunar extreme while the Lunar Standstill season is now winding down. Read more about out-of-boundness here.

A number of ancient and indigenous traditions perceive the galactic edge, the place where the galactic plane and the plane of the Solar System intersect in the center of the “sacred hoop”, to be where new souls come in and where new transmissions from beyond the galaxy enter into our solar system and planet. Any New Moon ceremony is therefore focused on the Galactic Edge and can be seen as a more powerful than usual seed point for receiving the transmissions and co-creating our emerging post-KaliYuga age with Great Mystery. Adding even more spice to this New Moon portal is that the Moon’s perigee is only 3.6 hours from the exact Sun-Moon conjunction (syzygy), the closest of the year. Some of the highest and lowest tides of the year can be expected.

In summary: An extreme Out-of-Bounds Moon at the Galactic Edge! And it just happens to be the closest perigee of the year aligned with a syzygy. Anticipate the unexpected and be in the flow, without expectation or resistance. Operate from as much out-of-boundness that you can muster. This applies especially to the Gemini and Cancer Mystery Schools.

In TOTAMS, rather than the exact Sun-Moon alignment, we place even more emphasis on the first visible tiny crescent Moon in the evening sky. The Islamic civilization still uses this first sighting for their calendars. This first sighting on June 15 or 16 just so happens to be their New Year in 2026! In the Americas this should be possible to see on Monday evening. From Egypt and the Middle East not likely until Tuesday evening. This first sighting of the young crescent opens the door to the other wonder of this week.

Evening Sky Magic

Mercury is now in the evening sky, at its greatest evening elongation of 24.5degrees from the Sun, on Monday at 19Cancer36, and magnitude of 0.6. It’s a fabulous apparition for naked eye visibility. Venus has recently separated from its close alignment with Jupiter. Both are still very prominent in the evening sky. Venus entered Leo on Saturday. Beginning Tuesday evening, the Moon passes all three!

Moon Conjuncts Mercury

On Tuesday, June 16, 1:12PM PDT (9 hours later at Giza), the Moon conjuncts Mercury at 20Cancer10. The Moon will be 2.56degrees NNE of Mercury, 25degrees from the Sun. This should be visible Tuesday evening in the Americas. Jupiter will be just slightly higher up.

Moon Conjuncts Jupiter

On Wednesday, June 17, 12:41AM PDT (9 hours later at Giza), the Moon conjuncts Jupiter at 27Cancer17. The Moon will be 2.47degrees NNE of Jupiter. Jupiter will be at magnitude -1.8 and 32degrees from the Sun.

Moon Conjuncts Venus

Also on Wednesday, June 17, 1:28PM PDT (9 hours later at Giza), the Moon conjuncts Venus at 5Leo06. The Moon will be only 0.37ENE of Venus, about 39degrees from the Sun, with Venus at magnitude -4.00. This is so close and so evocative, it is probably what inspired some of the flags of Middle Eastern countries! This is the 5th Moon-Venus Gate/Portal of the ascending evening star phase of her Pisces Overstory, associated with the Throat Chakra. Although that chakra is connected with speaking and listening, the actual location of Venus and the Moon with the Beehive cluster in the Crab constellation also strongly associates this with seeing clearly! Triple purpose …

In the Americas, Wednesday night will be extremely special indeed. Don’t miss it!

An Interesting Discovery and Important Event Coming Soon

Over the last five years, I have produced numerous articles and videos on the United States chart. The big topics are the Neptune Opposition and the Pluto and Chiron Returns. Most recently, I have explored the 20th Jupiter Return, with Jupiter amplifying four natal Cancer planets. Now, as the 250th birthday approaches, I have noticed something really significant centered on July 4-5: Not only is it a Solar Return, but it also has Mars and Mercury synodic returns!

Mercury

On the United States Solar Return chart, Mercury is at 25Cancer05Rx. On the natal it’s 24Cancer11Rx. Yes, the United States has Mercury retrograde, and this is a very close synodic planetary return.

Mars

Meanwhile, on the Solar Return Chart, Mars is at 04Gemini37. The natal position is 21Gemini22. Though this is not a most exact synodic return that only happens every 79 years, it does correspond with the 47/32-year synodic pattern, and is in the same synodic phase.

Fate or Destiny?

I will be writing more about this shortly. Any time there are synodic or metonic returns at the same time as a Solar Return, it has far greater significance. Also, the Tuesday and Wednesday night events described above, with the Moon in Cancer passing Mercury and Jupiter, should offer substantial clues to what happens to America: Fate or Destiny?

The Sagittarius-Gemini Full Moon is Sunday, May 31, at 1:45AM PDT with the Moon at 9Sagittarius55. Much will be written about it being a so-called Blue Moon. Regarding that, check out What Is A Real Blue Moon? and also Sagittarius Full Moon: OOB, Auspicious, but NOT a Blue Moon by my colleague Marianna Voulgaris.

This is the closest Full Moon of the year to the Galactic Center (27Sagittarius13). Also of note is that it’s a Micro-Moon, the smallest of the year. It’s about 252,360 miles (406,134 km) away, in contrast to an average moon distance of about 238,900 miles (384,472 km). Thus, this Full Moon will be about 7% dimmer than average and 25–30% dimmer than a particularly close Full Moon.

However, what I most want to discuss here is the out-of-bounds phenomenon and the term Out-of-Boundness I have made up for it. It turns out that we are still in the Lunar Standstill season.

The exact Full Moon is 26S50 degrees, more than 3 degrees from the ecliptic, and on Monday will reach a maximum of 27S58.

Mercury in Gemini is also OOB at 25N35

and Venus in Cancer at 24N21.

Here also are the dates of Mercury, Venus and Mars OOB for the rest of this year:

Mercury: May 23 - June 14, Dec 22 - Jan 8 2027

Venus: May 5 - June 4

Mars: Aug 7 - Aug 25

Lunar Standstill Season

A Lunar Standstill season is usually the time when the out-of-bounds phenomenon captures our attention. The center point of these seasons happens about every 19 years when the North Node of the Moon reaches 0Aries. Until this month, within the season, every time the Moon was near the Solstice it was stretching out beyond 28 degrees North or South of the ecliptic. This is nearly a year and a half since the 0Aries point was reached January 11 2025, the very center of the Lunar Standstill season. There is about a 3-year timeframe when the Moon gets beyond 28degrees. What can this mean, and what does it intend?

OOB Keywords

The keywords I use for the OOBs include: outsider, outlander, eccentric, unassimalable, and of course, out-of-boundness. Relative to the usual meanings of the Moon, Mercury and Venus, and relative to the more normal (as in average) meanings of the signs near the Solstices (Gemini, Cancer, Sagittarius and Capricorn), when OOB, behavior is very different. These signs and planets are no longer “normal”. The usual boundaries of attribution and allocation are expanded and exceeded.

For example:

Gemini:

Even greater shape-shifting and irreverence, or

to go beyond duality and polarity via crazy wisdom.

Cancer:

Even greater clannishness and tribalism, or

perceiving the entirety of global humanity.

Sagittarius:

An even deeper descent into rigid fundamentalisms, or

the courage to find the truth.

Capricorn:

An even deeper attachment to tradition and control, or

the courage to look beyond previously existing structures and knowledge.

As you can see, there is no good or bad here, though I surely advocate the expansion in the latter direction! Both will certainly be in evidence, even weather and the greater possibilities of earth changes. There is evidence that finance and economics are affected too with out-of-boundness. In some respects I see these periods as having an essence that combines a retrograde effect with Uranus and Jupiter.

Experiencing an OOB Moon

This Full Moon offers a great chance to directly experience in the body the Out-of-Bounds phenomenon. At this time of year, as we approach the Cancer (June) Solstice, the Sun is rising and setting farthest North. Meanwhile the Moon is rising and setting nearly the farthest South. At the Full Moon, the Moon rises 26S50 of East and the Sun sets at 21N56 North of West. That is nearly a 48degree difference! If you watch this Moonrise, the Sun will not set directly behind you as you might expect, or as it often does with a Moonrise. The same thing can be felt and experienced as the Full Moon sets and the Sun rises. On Monday, with the Moon still appearing full, the phenomenon appears with an even greater variance. Check it out for yourself.

Pure Speculation

I have been using the expression “standstill season”. How do we define that? The Moon is actually OOB a lot, anytime it moves beyond 23.26degrees off the ecliptic. But that is not always a time where full out-of-boundness is evident in the world.

I have been experimenting with two frameworks:

1) when the Moon goes beyond 28degrees North or South.

2) when the Lunar Nodes are in the axes before and after 0Aries. This would be from July 27 2023, when the North Node left Taurus and entered Aries, until July 26 2026, when the North Node leaves Pisces and enters Aquarius. This is very nearly the same window of time during which the Moon goes beyond 28degrees. I am experimenting with this synthesis.

Are You An Out-of-Bounder?

Of note is that this applies to a global perspective and is not the same for a personal chart. I take note of any natal Moon beyond the 23.26 degree ecliptic as out-of-boundness. Venus, Mercury and Mars have their own much shorter periods. On a natal chart, if you have one or more of these planets and/or the Moon OOB, you are definitely an out-of-bounder. With my clients, I always look for OOB factors. I even look at progressed OOBs.

This weekend is bracketed by the yearly Solar conjunction with Uranus and the Mars square to Pluto. The exact Uranus conjunction was Friday at 7:26AM PDT at 0Gemini30. The intent of such an alignment lasts for days on either side of the exact conjunction, as seen and felt on the world stage. Mars has his exact waxing square with Pluto on Monday, May 25, 9:02PM PDT, at Mars 5Taurus25 to Pluto 5Aquarius25Rx. The strength of this “crisis in action” aspect surely can be felt for a similar number of days. I can see these two transits feeding off of each other, which is what inspires this inquiry.

Blindingly Obvious Bifurcation

In these times of acceleration, the climax of the Fourth Turning, the nearness of the Uranus Return of the United States, and the first year of the post-KaliYuga age, what I notice is the rapidity of the current timeline split. The bifurcation is blindingly obvious. Many folks are deciding to not even waste time on the news of the world. With the AI coup happening all around us, how can anyone determine what is real or true? This is, of course, intentional - intentional chaos to create the necessary distractions so we don’t see the end game of the “powers that shouldn’t be”; that end game being technocracy, an AI control grid, and digital everything. Even you will be tokenized, reduced to a mere algorithm.

TOTAMS is a Three Worlds School. We recognize that Celestial (Upper) World, Middle World (objective 3D-reality), and Underworld (Lower World) are all real and happening simultaneously. It is my fate and calling to track all three, often with sardonic amusement. I greatly respect those who choose to tune out the external theater of the absurd, who are boldly on their intended Dharma and life purpose path. I have less, though, for those willfully blind to it all, still hoping things would go back to how they used to be. That is not happening. I would also include here those who are still clinging to partisanship and hero worship (prime Cancer and Leo shadows).

How to approach these two transits?

The Sun-Uranus conjunction energizes the acceleration, as well as bringing the unexplained, the unknown and unpredictable. There is even the element of extreme novelty. Roll with the punches and trust that it’s the direction your Soul wants to go. Any attachments will be hard to sustain. This is a Celestial World initiation, requiring Surrender and Trust.

The Mars-Pluto square is an entirely different initiatory process. This will be seen in the Middle World as events requiring a response. Mainstream astrology would sow fear around this. It has the feeling of an angry and reactive energy where the shadow is being encountered.

The Tarot offers clues here. Though there are numerous interpretations of the Tarot, here is how I see it:

Sun conjunct Uranus is like the Tower Card. This is not a “negative” card at all. It represents the times when an assemblage point shifts (the tower struck by lightning). After the collapse of the structure, a new structure can be reassembled.

Mars square Pluto is like the Death Card. This too is not negative. Death precedes Re-birth and Renewal. One way or another, the Kali Age of materialism and inversion must be composted, out of which comes new life.

Middle World Affairs

As an observer and commentator on geopolitics and middle world affairs, it would seem that much drama and trauma may occur over these days. Will it be the larger attack on Iran? Will Russia respond to the EU and NATO? Perhaps not. Probably just Cuba. Cuba is slated to be part of the American Technate of the technocratic New World Order, including Venezuela. This is deeply grievous to me. Being almost 78, I remember the Cuban Revolution in 1959, and the Bay of Pigs affair and the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961-62. Havana was the center of gambling, prostitution and organized crime. A revolution changed all that then. Those ousted oligarchic families, most now in Southern Florida, have spent generations trying to get their domains back. Cuba has been greatly and unfairly damaged by United States sanctions for generations. Now Trump wants to take it over and Marco Rubio intends be its king. What is less well known, is that due to drought and data centers, Las Vegas is dying. A relocation is planned to again be Cuba. I hope this does not come to pass.

The Choice

More than ever it boils down to this: With the timeline split and accelerated bifurcation, a choice is necessary to be made. Will you choose the AI route to become bio-synthetic, tokenized, and absorbed into the digital noosphere world brain? Or will you choose to remain committed to being a pure human, heart-centered, with empathy and connected to your essential divinity? Put another way, will you choose your individual sovereignty with unalienable rights granted by Creator, or be the digital token property of corporations, lorded over by unelected billionaire technocrats and bankers? The choice has become that simple.

Over these days, with the Tarot Tower and Death cards symbolizing the transits, how you react is of utmost importance. Hold all three worlds at once with as much equanimity as you can muster. Certainly, as inner and outer events transpire, strong feelings will emerge. Feeling these feelings from the depths is necessary. React but don’t over-react. Hold feeling the feelings that any heart centered human has the capacity to feel when encountering violation and suffering, while simultaneously being centered in your higher self, trusting that the Universe is unfolding as it should.

I am beginning to write this Wizard Weekly as the Moon is new at 25Taurus58. Only 27 minutes earlier, Mars exactly aligned with Chiron at 28Aries24. Last Tuesday/Wednesday, Mars joined with Eris. Having cleared their exact conjunctions, Eris and Chiron are now slowly separating.

This rare Mars-Chiron alignment has not happened since 1971. Let’s consider what it might mean and intend.

In past investigations I have suggested that a main theme is around Chaos, and whether that chaos is intentional or natural or both. At the end of ages, like the one we are traversing now, Great Mystery-Creator employs chaos to compost and reset creation. This has occurred many times before. This Great Turning, amplified by the end of Kali Yuga, is the time of materialism and the deepest descent of Spirit into matter. It cannot get any deeper. To accomplish this, many natural forces can be agencies: Solar Plasma, magnetic pole shifts, cosmic rays from Galactic Center, asteroid impacts etc.

But what about the part that is intentional chaos?

Agents of Intentional Chaos

The last Chiron-Eris alignment of 1971-1972 was an important time where the powers that shouldn’t be reset the financial and geopolitical world order. The Vietnam War had bankrupted the United States. On August 13 1971, with Chiron at 13Aries32 and Eris at 12Aries56, President Nixon suspended the US dollars’ convertibility to gold, ending the Bretton Woods agreement and ushering in a floating fiat currency system. The Petrodollar system soon followed to maintain US dollar hegemony. Earlier that year, on January 24, the organization to become the World Economic Forum (WEF) was birthed with Chiron at 6Aries30 and Eris at 11Aries43 - the next level of the foundation for globalism.

Meanwhile, also in 1971, Elon Musk was born on June 28 with Chiron at 13Aries42 and Eris at 13Aries02. In the just completed Shanghai Meetings between Trump and Xi, along with scores of oligarchs, the next next level transformation of the financial and geopolitical world order was negotiated. Perhaps in this case, history does more than just rhyme? Elon Musk was the only oligarch there with ties to all four factions of the currently most operational “powers that shouldn’t be” that have designs on controlling the world:

• the Tech Bros / Silicon Valley

• US-Israel hegemonic imperialism/military industrial complex

• the financial industrial complex

• National Sovereign multipolarity - China, Russia, Iran and a few others.

This enmeshment makes Musk a perfect agent of chaos, along with Trump. The Shanghai Meetings occurred while Mars was transiting Eris and had almost made it to Chiron, their conjunction having been at 28Aries24.

It is my contention that these unelected billionaire oligarchs are agents of chaos and are attempting, through intentional chaos and destruction, to impose their elitist vision of a reset. This includes, among other things, everything digital, AI, and a global surveillance apparatus. They may succeed in the short term, but not the long term. Because simultaneously, so many people are waking up and choosing a different timeline in this extremely accelerated bifurcation: A timeline as pure humans in connection with Spirit, Heart, Soul and our Divinity.

Natural Evolution

Looking from a different perspective, more in alignment with natural evolution, Dane Rudhyar’s Sabian Symbol for 29 Aries is quite interesting:

“(ARIES 29°): THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES.

KEYNOTE: Attunement to cosmic order.

At the fourth stage of a five-fold sequence a technique is often presented. It is based on the experiences implied in the preceding symbols. In this case, what the individual who has entered into a new realm of possibilities of action should learn is the harmonic principles operating in this realm. The music of the spheres is the celestial embodiment of principles of polyphonic interplay. The individual advancing ‘on the Path’ should seek to understand and realize his place in the vast scheme of mankind’s evolution, in the immense Chord of the harmony of the universe.

The message to the seeker for meaning which is implied in this symbol is TO LISTEN TO THE INNER VOICE; to listen without personalizing this Voice in a glamour-producing manner. It is the Voice of the Whole, of which one begins to realize that one is a tiny little part - yet a significant part, for every note of the universal Chord has its place and its ineradicable meaning.”

These thoughts are resonating so much with our understanding of

the essence of the Mystery School of Aries:

to commit to defending and upholding the Cosmic Order of Great Mystery.

What’s Next?

On Sunday, Mercury aligns with Uranus (and the Pleiades) at 1Gemini14, followed by the yearly Sun-Uranus conjunction on Friday at 1Gemini30. Uranus certainly remains in sharp focus. Rudhyar’s Sabian Symbol offers an unexpected and welcome clue for navigating these times:

“(GEMINI 2°): SANTA CLAUS FURTIVELY FILLING STOCKINGS HANGING IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE.

KEYNOTE: A rewarded faith in spiritual blessings.

The popular allegory refers to the spiritual blessings which come to the ‘pure in heart,’ whose consciousness is likened to that of a little child. Polarized by eager expectation and faith in the existence of celestial Powers, the pure consciousness as yet un-solidified by ego and rationalistic arguments experiences the concrete manifestation of what it had imagined. In this symbol, Santa Claus acts ‘furtively.’ The gifts from an imagined and intensely believed in spiritual world must not be examined closely or at length by the reasoning intellect. The would-be clairvoyant is told not to look straight and intently at what he begins to ‘see’; instead he should cast sideways glances at it, since the sharply focused mind would make the apparition vanish.

At this second stage of the thirteenth five-fold sequence we have once more a symbol in contrast to the one for the first stage. In order to discover the wonders of the normally unconscious depths of the collective psyche, the individual has to build the proper kind of vehicle (a glass-bottomed boat); but the reception of new blessings from the spiritual realm above (the superconscious) requires mostly faith and purity of heart, and a common type of understanding (stockings) — thus a state of INNOCENCE.”

It’s “almost funny”

Uranus expands Gemini into a higher objectivity and a cosmic overview, and Gemini brings to Uranus divine comedy. It’s “almost funny” as my wife likes to say. Maybe a good strategy is to laugh at the ridiculousness of these oligarchs and their self-importance. Indigenous people would always lampoon anyone who took themselves too seriously. We need to remember that.

I am reminded of some lyrics from Tim Buckley’s 1967 song “Goodbye and Hello”, with lyrics by Larry Beckett:

“The king and the queen in their castle of billboards

Sleepwalk down the hallways dragging behind

All their possessions and transient treasures

As they go to worship the electronic shrine

On which is playing the late, late commercial

In that hollowest house of the opulent blind

And I wave goodbye to Mammon

And smile hello to a stream”

“The vaudeville generals cavort on the stage

And shatter their audience with submachine guns

And Freedom and Violence, the acrobat clowns

Do a balancing act on the graves of our sons

While the tap-dancing Emperor sings, ‘War is peace’

And Love the Magician disappears in the fun

And I wave goodbye to murder

And smile hello to the rain.”

The Project

Since when I first learned astrology in 1969 and was fully into the world of Dane Rudhyar’s astrological movement, I have held fast to the commitment to question, and often reject, traditional and classical astrological meanings and assumptions. Most of all, this involved rejecting the deterministic and fate based versions that have us at the effect of benign or malefic energies. Rather than this, astrology can be a superb, and possibly the greatest, divination tool for connecting to our Dharma and Life Purpose - The Highest of the Lower Mysteries! I have written and spoken on this many times.

Over the last few decades, through my research and experience, a variety of revisions to the classical canon have been made. Among them,

• renaming the modalities

• downgrading the emphasis on Sun Signs

• eliminating dualistic and hierarchical language

• enhanced emphasis on Venus, Mars, Moon, Angles and Nodes.

We also have developed a unique way to synthesize the Sidereal and Tropical zodiacs.

TOTAMS is now ready to take this even farther.

Why Now?

In all we do, another major feature of the TOTAMS approach is to place the weekly, monthly, and yearly astrological transits and cycles within the much larger context of a Great Turning of the Ages. We calculated the core of this Great Turning of The Ages to be 1962-2034. This includes the end and beginning of an entire 26,000-year precessional cycle. It may even be the end and beginning of twelve precessional cycles— a period of over 300,000 years. We also know that the Yuga cycles correspond in many ways. Through the research of Bibhu Dev Misra, the end of the most recent Kali Yuga was determined to be the Aries Equinox of 2025. That means we are now in a post-KaliYuga time, with only another eight years or so to go in this Great Turning.

The time is ripe to initiate a re-visioning of astrology to a place that truly serves today’s Seed People and anyone desiring to create the astrology of the emerging epoch, to remain a pure human, with free will, choosing to connect with Spirit, Soul, Heart and our essential Divinity.

What is very clear is that there is no going back to how things were before. Call it what you will: Reset, Rebirth, Renaissance, Great Awakening, New Jupiter, or even Resurrection. Also clear is that the meanings and interpretations of the astrology that became cannonized around the time of the monthly shift in the Great Year from the constellation of the Ram to the constellation of the Fish are becoming far less relevant. It is indeed time to re-vision all of the signs and the planets.

That is our ambitious project now!

How?

One of the many great things that Dane Rudhyar brought to the young astrologers of the 60s and 70s (a Second Turning generation) was the inclusion of Jungian psychology. This sparked great interest to include various tools from Jung and other archetypal psychologists into astrology, adding depth and spirituality to our craft. It also brought about expanded interest in myth and symbol. Among a very long list of us I can particularly name Tony Joseph, Richard Idemon, Demetra George, Liz Greene, and, my favorite, Charles Ponce. These developments also led to the greater emphasis on the archetypal Feminine and reaction against the Patriarchal biases inherent in the classical canon.

Following these initial sparks, a noteworthy split developed in the archetypal world that is deeply relevant to our inquiry. Are the archetypes eternal and unchanging, or do they change and evolve depending on the culture, geography, and, even more importantly, what astrological age or Yuga is happening? The more doctrinaire Jungian would say that the archetypes are eternal and unchanging components of the Collective Unconscious. The Mother archetype is always the same Mother, the Anima is always the same Anima etc, with the same images always, regardless of time, culture, or geography. Charles Ponce and others though had a different view, articulating that the images do change and evolve. I certainly concur, and this is foundational to our inquiry.

How would this relate to astrology? If we use the Tropical signs, which was a magnificent act of creative genius by the Hellenistic astrologers, the meanings of the components, of what Ponce calls a self-standing Zodiac archetype, could be looked at in these two different ways. The essence of the sign Aries, for example, could be eternally the same, or, it could undergo change and evolution depending on time and space.

TOTAMS does use the self-standing tropical zodiac, which is an Earth zodiac, fixed to the Equinoxes and Solstices. The later Babylonians and the Hellenistic astrologers were motivated to create this Earth zodiac because the constellations slowly kept shifting their locations relative to Earth’s seasons. How this all happened is covered in detail in our Cosmology Course. We even now have a deeper understanding of why the tropical zodiac works well in both of Earth’s hemispheres.

The Zodiacs, Signs and Constellations

To really get to the bottom of our inquiry, the other zodiac needs to be considered. I am referring, of course, to the various sidereal zodiacs, based on the constellational star groups themselves. Most every culture projected images and stories onto these star groups. What they projected varied relative to culture, time, and geography. But, the star patterns themselves are the same star patterns regardless of what is projected onto them. The Big Dipper can be a Plow or a Great Bear. The constellation called Scorpius by astronomers can be perceived as a scorpion or a snake or even as Maui’s fishhook. Plenty more examples could be given. But the question remains: Does the constellation Scorpius have an eternal essence as a scorpion? If we say so, we become chauvinists of specific cultural and geographical projections. Does the star pattern itself have an essence? Is it archetypally masculine or feminine? All this is part of the inquiry.

The constellations are in constant and ever-changing relationship with the tropical signs. And it needs to be made crystal clear that they are not the same! For reference, see my classic article Why We Use Signs and Love The Constellations. Each star pattern has an opportunity to align with every sign over the course of a 26,000-year cycle. The star pattern of the constellation Taurus lined up with the sign Aries during the so-called Age of Taurus. Then the constellation of Aries, the Ram, lined up with the sign of Aries, and so on. Even today, many astrologers derive their understanding and beliefs about the Age of Aquarius from the sign of Aquarius. In actuality, the Age of Aquarius is just now beginning because the constellation of Aquarius (in many parts of the world known as the Water Bearer) is beginning to align with the sign of Aries! Can we see why we need to re-think all this?

Naming Constellations and Signs Differently

It’s not entirely adequate, but a simple way to assist this inquiry is to name the constellations something different from the names of the signs. To that end, TOTAMS has borrowed a protocol from the school of astrology called Astrosophy, stemming from the research of Rudolf Steiner. Though now apparently all sidereal, when Elizabeth Vreede took on the responsibility for astronomy and astrology after Steiner’s death in 1925, she envisioned using both zodiacs, with the great need to have different names for both.

In this context, as a practical way of wrapping our minds around all this, we suggest:

Aries is the sign, The Ram is the constellation

Taurus is the sign, The Bull is the constellation

Gemini is the sign, The Twins is the constellation

Cancer is the sign, The Crab is the constellation

Leo is the sign, The Lion is the constellation

Virgo is the sign, The Priestess is the constellation

Libra is the sign, The Scales is the constellation

Scorpio is the sign, The Scorpion is the constellation

Sagittarius is the sign, The Archer is the constellation

Capricorn is the sign, The Goat Fish is the constellation

Aquarius is the sign, The Water Bearer is the constellation

Pisces is the sign, The Fish is the constellation

The reason why this is not entirely adequate, is that naming the constellations by their Sumerian-Babylonian-Hellenistic names is not universal or global. But at least it offers a framework to begin seeing the constellations as entities different from the popularly known signs. The great advantage is that it refers us to the star groups themselves. The popular and widely used meanings of the signs do carry some genuine essence, so we continue to use those names.

Ptolemy’s Timeless Question

But what are the essences of the 12 signs? Is there a deep universal essence to them? Equally we may ask if there is a deep universal essence to the star patterns. As discussed above, within the vast context of the 26,000-year precessional cycle, every star pattern has a chance to align with each sign. This is the observed and cosmological mechanism that gives rise to “New Ages”, each emerging with their differing characteristics. It is the very mechanism and process that changes the actual content and expression of an age as well as the archetypes themselves.

Even in the time of Ptolemy, ca. 200 AD, the existence of both zodiacal frames of reference was known. A question asked in his Mystery School was:

“What is the proportion that the constellation informs the sign?”

And that is exactly what we at TOTAMS ask today. We purport there’s no better time than a Great Turning of The Ages to seriously consider this.

Essence vs. Content

Most likely there’s a universal and long-lasting essence to each of the signs (which TOTAMS calls the 12 Mystery Schools of Global Humanity). I greatly respect the brilliance and genius of the Hellenistic astrologers who created our well known self-standing Zodiac archetype. There is, indeed, for example, something like “Aries-ness”. But this is not the constellation or the Sun sign! When Creator Great Mystery allocates essence to a human being, different signs get different allocations. Here is a suggested list to assist in our inquiry:

Aries is allocated Commitment to a Purpose

Taurus is allocated Embodied Pleasure

Gemini is allocated Joy of Mind

Cancer is allocated the desire to Provide Nourishment

Leo is allocated Sovereignty and the Joy of Being Creator

Virgo is allocated Discrimination

Libra is allocated Relational Consciousness

Scorpio is allocated the Strongest Will

Sagittarius is allocated the Thirst for Truth

Capricorn is allocated Knowledge

Aquarius is allocated Objectivity

Pisces is allocated Compassion

This is in no way dogmatic, but meant as starting points for our project.

The actual practical and cultural expressions in each age, in each culture, and in different geographical locations, will express the essence in different ways, This is the content. For example, Cancer will always have the same essence, but a matrilineal culture will express it differently than various versions of patriarchal cultures. Libra at certain times has been expressed through arranged marriages, and more recently, ideals of soulmates, twin flames etc. But it is always the same essence, expressed differently in different times or places. No right or wrong judgments have a place here. We intend to explore each and every one of these in depth, including their shadow expressions. This, we trust, will provide a solid framework for participating in the great work of co-creating new expressions, new content, for practical application in the post-KaliYuga time we have just entered.

What About The Star Patterns?

But what about the other zodiac, the star patterns themselves? The Tropical sign zodiac is an Earth Zodiac. The sidereal Zodiac with its often distinct and unique star patterns is the framework, the scaffolding, or what Steiner referred to as the bones, through which stellar and galactic transmissions flow to Earth and global humanity. Since different cultures throughout the ages have projected different images, it is very challenging to create universal language for this. The transmissions can be seen and felt through their effects. These transmissions are happening, and are a major part of understanding how signs and archetypes change and evolve over time. This process occurs on a major scale now, likely much stronger than at any of the monthly changes in the Great Year. I think the greatest changes happen at the seasonal junction points of the Great Year: in the vicinity of 6,500 BCE, 12,000-13,000 BCE, 18,000 BCE, and 26,000 BCE. Since our research sees the timeframe of 1962-2034 as the Great Turning, the end and beginning of the 26,000-year cycle itself, the greatest change and evolution of sign and archetype is happening now.

Another way that I like to think of this is that the Tropical sign Earth Zodiac is like Soul, as Jungians and others use that word. It is archetypally feminine. The star pattern Zodiacs are like Spirit, and archetypally masculine. Somewhat alike to Mother Earth - Father Sky.

For a sky-watcher school like TOTAMS, part of this project is also to sense into the essence of the star patterns. Does the Scorpion feel more masculine or feminine? What about the Archer or Priestess? Which ones feel more active, passive or reflective? And what about that huge area of the sky that looks and feels like water, featuring the the Fish, the Water Bearer, and part of the Goat-Fish?

One vision is to eventually create 12 councils of 12 - 144 persons to hold the space and vision. In 2027, we will then follow on with a similar approach to the planets. We also have in mind the creation of an additional Divination Card Deck that will allow to place signs and planets next to constellations, making it easier to sense into the ongoing changes and the evolution now taking place.

However, nothing is better than to go out under a clear dark sky and sense into it. To say the least, it can be revelatory to personally feel the significance of, for example, your natal Jupiter in the sign of Cancer actually sitting in the Twins constellation, or your Libra Rising degree being in the body of the Priestess! Monumental Changes

I cannot ever under-estimate the magnitude of the changes and acceleration taking place now in all Three Worlds. As our Media Maven Naraya often reminds us: “These are no ordinary times”.

On the heels of the recent intense Aries configurations and Uranus’ entry into Gemini, last Wednesday’s Pluto station retrograde is now stimulating intense focus on Pluto. The Moon’s alignment with Pluto on Friday also got my notice.

The other thing that happened last week is that various media outlets reported about reconsidering the demotion of Pluto to a “dwarf planet.” The story appeared on the EarthSky blog, in Sky&Telescope, on Forbes, the BBC, Scientific American and many more. Here is a link to the article in Nature.

As those of you who follow TOTAMS and myself know, I have never taken anything decreed by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) seriously. This of course applies to Pluto’s demotion to a “dwarf Planet” in 2006. In our astrology practice, there is nothing “dwarf” about Pluto.

Thus, it is high time to thoroughly consider and re-consider Pluto!

Words Have Meanings

Consider

I have always loved etymology. I also love the word “consider.”. And would you believe it - the word is highly relevant to our craft! Here is something that you can find when researching etymology online:

consider(v.)

late 14c., consideren, “to fix the mind upon for careful examination, meditate upon,” also “view attentively, scrutinize; not to be negligent of,” from Old French considerer (13c.) “reflect on, consider, study,” from Latin considerare “to look at closely, observe,” probably literally “to observe the stars,” from assimilated form of com “with, together” (see con-) + sidus (genitive sideris) “heavenly body, star, constellation” (see sidereal).

So “to consider”, in its original sense, literally means to reach a decision by aligning with the stars. It seems that this meaning is all but forgotten now.

Pluto

We find equally interesting things when considering the word “Pluto.” Among the Romans, it has the additional spellings of “Pluton” and “Plouton”. Here is some more etymology:

Pluto(n.)

Roman god of the underworld, early 14c., from Latin Pluto, Pluton, from Greek Ploutōn “god of wealth,” from ploutos “wealth, riches,” probably originally “overflowing,” from PIE root *pleu- “to flow.” The alternative Greek name or epithet of Hades is his function as the god of wealth (precious metals and gems, coming from beneath the earth, form part of his realm)

The well known words “plutocrat” and “plutocracy” are sort of related:

The meaning of Plutocrat is a person with power or influence due to his wealth: a member of a plutocracy.

Plutocracy is a government controlled exclusively by wealthy individuals, either directly or indirectly.

Plutocracy is a government where only the wealthy have control.

Wealth can influence policies, favoring the affluent.

Wealth

I believe that the original meaning of “wealth” has been hijacked and inverted, as always happens at the end of a Kali Yuga and at a Great Turning of The Ages. So what is “wealth” then? Check this out:

wealth(n.)

mid-12c., welth, “state or condition of happiness, well-being, joy” (contrasted with care or woe, a sense now obsolete), also “valuable material possessions; prosperity in abundance,” from wele “well-being” (see weal (n.1)) on analogy of health (see -th (2)).

No mention of money per se!

Knowing all this, how can we reconsider Pluto?

Revisioning The Classical Meaning of Pluto

TOTAMS is engaged in the ambitious and sorely needed project of radically reconsidering and revisioning the classical meanings of the signs and planets. This is much needed with Pluto. When the patriarchal Zeus cults took over the ancient world, the Three Worlds were allocated to the three brothers:

• Zeus (Roman Jupiter) getting the sky and leadership

• Poseidon (Roman Neptune) being allocated the oceans

• and Hades (Roman Pluto) the Underworld.

• All three equally were allotted the Earth.

Wealth, however, came from below, the power and strength of the chthonic realm, the word meaning soil. It was the realm of the dead, but also of fecundity. The power and strength of the powerful currents below the surface of the ocean, and of the energy flows from the center of the Earth up, like the Kundalini. I had always loved the way Liz Green described Pluto as both dark-damp soil as well as running sewers. Yes, below ground are found rare gems and metals, but they are meant for true wealth, happiness and well-being, not to own and dominate. The latter is the Plutonian shadow. It’s so ironic that the Mafia and their government and corporate allies can also be considered the “underworld.”

Archetypal Feminine

It can be speculated that the Greeks and Romans (with similar equivalents in other cultures) actually saw these energetic patterns and called them “gods” and “goddesses.” In our vastly objectified and intellect ruled times, these are now known as the psychological archetypes. It is our contention that these archetypal energies are not fixed in concrete. They change and evolve depending on the Yugas and the precessional cycles. Why should the astrologers of today rely on classical patriarchal meanings that may have been true thousands of years ago, but are now less relevant?

Though TOTAMS can see archetypal Feminine and Masculine in all signs and planets, some lean more into one than the other. You can learn more about this by visiting our YouTube playlist Sex, Gender and Intimacy.

Personally, I have never thought or felt that Pluto was that Greek or Roman God. Rather, I sense Pluto (as well as Neptune) to be a strong archetypal Feminine essence. But in Pluto’s case, it is certainly not a sky or mother nurturer goddess. The essence here is that of a dark underworld Feminine. Sometimes she has been called the “teeth mother.” I would list Kali, Durga, Hecate, and surely Ereshkigal.

Pluto’s Contribution at The Great Turning

It is beyond the scope of these contemplations to delve into all the ways of navigating a Plutonian initiation, be it by transit or by natal complex. But I will offer a general approach to recognize Pluto’s contribution to those of us living through the Great Turning now.

There is no doubt that how Pluto works is by way of chaos, confusion, and irrational events that cannot be figured out by the mind. She offers conditions for surrender, for which there is no ‘technique” to find relief. Often, any attempt to understand (or overstand) this kind of experience ends here, and what remains is merely the hope that it may end at some point. What is often forgotten though, is what happens, if all goes well, following on from the surrender. The outcome is empowerment and true wealth - the power and strength from below the Earth.

Plutonian initiations are a natural and organic part of the Life Process on Planet Earth. We all encounter them, some people more than others. When placed in the larger context of a Great Turning and the beginning of a post-KaliYuga epoch, the deepest descent of Spirit into Matter has occurred, and the recognition of the deceptive inversions and composting of materialism is sure to take place. All Plutonian initiatory processes include deathing and birthing, surrender and empowerment. Out of compost comes new life, renewal, and rebirth.

May Day, Beltaine, Wesak and Mayday

May Day

A large portion of the world celebrates May 1 as International Workers Day, originating in the 1880s in the United States to celebrate workers rights and the inauguration of a 40hour work week. In the burgeoning rise of socialism and communism in Europe, it also caught on there. Socialist leaning countries with revolutionary pasts hold May 1 in high regard.

Interesting is to note who doesn’t celebrate International Workers Day: the United States, Canada, Australia, the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, New Zealand, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Virtually all other countries do. May Day can inspire activists, but often now, it mainly is a day of rest and leisure. So why are the United States opting out? Should you desire to go down that rabbit hole, here is a video.

Beltaine

The ancient Celtic and pre-Celtic spring rites known as Beltaine are most often celebrated on May 1 on the secular calendar. But many astrologers, including TOTAMS, use the actual mid-point between the Aries Equinox and the Cancer Solstice. This year, that is May 4.

As a pre-Christian tradition with pagan implications, after the arrival of Roman Catholicism, Beltaine became controversial. Originally it celebrated the fecundity of plants and the new growth cycle. It emphasized revelry and embrace of sexuality. Fire celebrations were common to honor the renewal of the Earth. It was a good time for all and a celebration of Life. During the past 50 years, there has been quite a resurgence of interest in this festival. We at TOTAMS offered our Earth Branch free seminar on May 2.

However, it must be noted that “the powers that shouldn’t be” love to invert all that is positive and good, using Beltaine and later Samhain as their favorite times of the year for blood sacrifice rituals. Yes, these folks know astrology well, and keep using it in grossly inverted ways.

Wesak

Adding even more depth and complexity to this Scorpio Full Moon and May Day, is Wesak, often just known as “ The Buddha’s Birthday.” In Buddhist countries, it is celebrated on the Full Moon of May. Here is Wiki’s concise description of Wesak:

Wesak, also known as Vesak, Buddha Purnima, or Buddha Day, is the most sacred festival in Buddhism, commemorating the birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and passing (Parinirvana) of Gautama Buddha. Celebrated on the full moon in May, it is a time for reflection on peace, compassion, and kindness, often marked by visiting temples, meditation, charity, and acts of kindness.

Mayday

Meanwhile, there is yet another ingredient in this unpacking of May 1. Apparently it has no relation to the other three mentioned. It is the emergency and distress call of “mayday”, originating from the French m’aider (”help me”).

More To The Mix

This Full Moon weekend has so many ingredients! Themes of activism, celebration and spiritual enlightenment, as well as a warning of great danger and distress. All of these themes come coupled with a Full Moon in Scorpio, the closest Full Moon to the Cross-quarter, uniting Solar and Lunar strengths. From a night sky perspective, the Moon is now poised to enter the balance beam of the Scales constellation, to be weighed to discern whether the Heart is as light as a feather!

Extreme OOB Moon

Yet another extreme OOB Moon occurs May 3-7. This is the last Southern extreme exceeding 28degrees declination in the now concluding Lunar Standstill Season. Expect events, inner and outer, beyond the ordinary meanings of Sagittarius and Capricorn!

Moon Occults Antares

Monday May 4 at 10Sagittarius07

On Monday morning, from the Americas, the currently unfolding pattern of the Moon occulting Antares can be observed. Antares, the Heart of the Scorpion constellation, the so-called “Guardian of the Golden Gate”, helps determine the fate of a soul passing this way: Is it Ascension or is it composting? Considering what has preceded since May 1, this could be really important. In the Hawaiian Moon Calendar traditions, this is also the “Spirit-Walker” Moon.

Beltaine Cross-Quarter

Monday May 4, Sun at 15Taurus

The Moon will be at the Galactic Center, 27Sagittarius13, and cross over it.

Mars Square Jupiter

Monday, May 4, 19Aries30/19Cancer30

The final and larger wave of Jupiter in Cancer is now activated by Mars. Remember that the United States is in its 20th Jupiter Return. What will she do? The old shadow Cancer, or a commitment to a greater, and less imperialistic intention?

Pluto Stationary Retrograde

This concludes a long time frame of All Planets Direct. Tuesday through Thursday are strongly impacted by the intensification of Plutonian energies, all related to the overall themes of the “Shadow of Aquarius”, namely AI, Technocracy, the false god of global surveillance, and collectivism without personal sovereignty.

My Thoughts, Concerns and Prayers

I am writing this just as the Full Moon is peaking. Which version or combination of May Day, or Beltaine, or Buddhist wisdom will prevail? Could it be a planetary mayday distress call? Much more may stand revealed over this next week.

In the attempt to discern the meaning and intent of the unfolding inner and outer events using our Three Worlds Approach, the recent ingress of Uranus into Gemini, reminds me of something: One extreme of Gemini is to regard the Truth to be an excuse for a lack of imagination. One can revel in the seemingly infinite versions of Truth. Full Moons can remind us to include the resonant polarity. Gemini needs Sagittarius and its commitment to Truth, Meaning and Purpose. These upcoming Out of Bounds extreme days at the Galactic Center can help inspire a willingness to go beyond the bounds of conventional binary thinking. Uranus demands that of Gemini. The next Full Moon, a second one in May, will be on the Sagittarius-Gemini resonant polarity.

One additional note. In my interest to discern Middle World and geo-politics events, I have recently been discovering and enjoying the Substack The Margins by Richard Revelstoke.

On Friday, April 24, Venus entered Gemini. The day before, she aligned with Uranus at 29Taurus53. Uranus entry into Gemini is Saturday, April 25. This ingress of Uranus into Gemini is the big event on everybody’s radar, not least TOTAMS’, as we present our Uranus Into Gemini Highlight Seminar on Sunday. You can still sign up for the livestream here or use the same link to get the recording post-event.

In this Wizard Weekly however, I will focus on the potential significance of the alignments with the Pleiades. In addition, the possibly overlooked square of the Sun to Pluto is also on Saturday. These two themes potently illustrate the binary nature of the timeline split happening now.

The Pleiades Alignment

At this time in the greater precessional cycle, the stars of the Pleiades stretch over and around 0Gemini. In other ages and times, an ingress of Uranus or Venus into Gemini would not have the stars of the Pleiades behind them. Surely this is a cosmic message for our times. What might that message be?

When observing Venus these coming days, as she has now risen far enough in the evening sky (about 27degrees from the Sun) to be easily seen just after dusk, and with a still not too bright Moon, the Pleiades should also be well visible. Though Uranus cannot be seen with the naked eye, you can imagine the presence of Uranus there with Venus.

Most of us will have favorable connotations for the Pleiades. Cultures across Australia, Polynesia and the Americas almost without exception consider the Pleiades to be where global humanity originates from. Or at least the Seven Sisters are perceived as bringers of love, higher knowledge and an egalitarian spirit. They’re a favorite for many with Aquarian signatures. Thus, I invite you to go out, be with Venus and the Pleiades, and see what transmissions and intuitions you receive.

Sun Square Pluto

The yearly waning square of the Sun with Pluto also occurs on Saturday at 5Taurus28 / 5Aquarius28. In less than two weeks, Pluto will station retrograde, ending a prolonged period of 47 days with all planets direct. I follow Dane Rudhyar with the insight that a waning square is a “crisis in consciousness”. If global humanity has learned anything over the last 9 months, it’s time to put that into action. I generally ascribe about a day and a half on each side of the exact square when the square is at its most intense. The actions and the awareness necessary for action will stem from the underworld and shadow dimensions - and the actions taken will either come from an integrated and digested shadow, or from unconsciously acting out from trauma, fear, and past violations. Either way, this is an intense, and potentially dangerous aspect that can hopefully be balanced or even mitigated by the Pleiadean influence.

As an important additional factor, both the Uranus ingress into Gemini and the Sun-Pluto Square are under a Leo Moon on or near Regulus, the Heart star of the celestial Lion. In some traditions this star is associated with Archai Mich-ael, the time-lord of this age.

Out of Free Will, Choose Love and The Good

In many Mystery School teachings, such as in Anthroposophy, the strong and ever-present experience of evil is necessary for an evolving pure human to, out of free will, choose love and the good. The extreme binary nature of the current aspects offers a similar opportunity. In light of the overwhelming Aries initiations taking place (written about in the last few Wizard Weeklies), one possible timeline is more war, aggression, dominance and a need to win, propelled by trauma and blood feuds. Or, inspired by the Venus-Uranus alignment with the Pleiades, may we achieve a higher view, and move past the debris of the Kali Yuga, and then, with a confident free will, choose a different way, a way of compassion, love, and sovereignty with the connection to our Divinity. May Uranus provide the unexpected events necessary to provide the impetus for the very necessary assemblage point shifts.

In my last Wizard Weekly I zoomed in on the large number of aspects and events featuring the Aries Mystery School, urging us to revision what we think we know about Aries. This theme continues through this week and even beyond.

The Aries New Moon of Friday, April 17, at 27Aries29, is now behind us, as well as the Sun-Chiron conjunction of April 16 at 26Aries38. The energies of the Chiron-Eris conjunctions are still very much with us, reminding us of their last alignment in 1971 when the previous financial and economic reset happened.

It is important to highlight the other main cosmic theme: the Moon-Venus conjunction, opening the third ascending gate of Venus’ Pisces Overstory on Sunday, April 19, at 24Taurus02. Venus has risen far enough from the Sun now to be visible as dusk is fading into dark, so this can easily be viewed in the evening sky. Noteworthy is the close proximity of the Pleiades, sitting at 29Taurus-0Gemini. Venus, herself aligns with the Pleiades April 23-24. It is interesting to speculate how this remarkable signature in the Solar Plexus chakra may contribute to, or even help mitigate, the potential great challenges and dangers of the Aries alignments.

On The Aries Agenda Now

The focus now shifts to an earlier portion of Aries. Lets look at the string of events:

Mars Conjunct Neptune

This alignment was exact back on April 12-13 at 2Aries39, with both planets presently still being quite close to each other. This can infer the confusions and deceptions related to the “fog of war”, as well as the attempt of Neptune to contribute some compassion, empathy and spirituality to Mars.

Mars Conjunct Saturn

Today, Sunday, April 19, 3:44PM PDT, 7Aries51

If the old classical meanings assigned to these celestial beings as being the primary “malefics” holds sway, this is an ominous portent.

Mercury Conjunct Saturn

Monday, April 20, 4:22AM PDT, 7Aries55

Mercury, in a Pisces Overstory, is now descending into the external underworld to soon be in the role of Guardian of the Threshold and Pyschopomp for Souls desiring to enter the underworld, otherworlds, or upper world. I am imagining Mercury, as messenger and teacher, intending to transmit the values of compassion and empathy to Mars and Saturn.

Mercury-Mars-Saturn Alignment

From Sunday to mid-week, Mercury, Mars and Saturn (as well as a not visible Neptune) are aligned in a string at dawn. In the dawn’s glare, all are quite dim and difficult to see. Making this particular Mars apparition especially tricky, is that during the current synodic cycle he is quite far from the Earth and Sun. Even Mercury is brighter at -0.09 magnitude, while Mars is +1.23 and Saturn 0.93.

As Shamanic Astrologers, part of our job is to imagine the most positive and life-affirming outcomes. It can be really powerful and important to look for this alignment, and even if you don’t clearly see it, envision helping Mercury getting the message through to Mars and Saturn (also aided by Neptune)!

Just Round The Corner

Soon to come the following week is the ingress of Uranus into Gemini and the square of Sun to Pluto, followed closely by Mars’ alignments with Eris and Chiron! Mars conjuncts Chiron at 28Aries24 on May 16.

Revisioning Aries

Right now, especially when considering the role of the Moon-Venus third chakra Solar Plexus ascending Venus gate/portal, several possibilities emerge. Through an empowered conscious willing, aided by the Pleiadian alignment, we can strongly intend a bold new way for Mars and Aries, with universal and unconditional love values. On the other hand, if the old ways of Aries and Mars refuse to release their grip, then the power and strength of the Solar Plexus will just increase the aggression and blood lust of the old Mars, devoid of moral and ethical values and without any legitimate and life-supporting boundaries.

For global Humanity to have any chance to enter a more loving, compassionate, spiritual, and human epoch, the old patriarchal Aries and Mars descriptions are in such great need of revision. It is truly time to retire the classical understanding of Mars (and Saturn). This I discussed last week. War, domination, blood-feuds, and needing to win are relics of the Kali Yuga and, one way or another, will be composted. I pray for the most compassionate way, with least possible suffering.

Just as there are some Christians who take the Bible totally literally, entirely disregarding the historical time periods and the politics that have been involved, the same situation exists in astrology. The classical meanings of signs and planets in astrology emanate from a specific time in history, specific locations, and with known and unknown political and economic prejudices and objectives.

Introduction

Coming of age in the mid to late sixties, I gravitated to the metaphysically and philosophically inclined counterculture. As a philosophy and East Asian studies major, the tendency, indeed the consensus, was the rejection of behaviorism, logical positivism, British Empiricism, and Utilitarianism. We believed those approaches had been swept aside for good. How naive we were!

Now, in 2026, AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), along with the embrace of the tyranny of the “greater good”, are here as the ultimate materialistic extensions of Logic, devoid of Consciousness and Soul.

However, back then, nearly all of us embraced the Perennial Philosophies, holding that Consciousness precedes Matter and is not merely a materialistic creation of the physical brain. As the well-known Sanskrit term “Sat-Chit-Ananda”, representing the ultimate reality or true nature of the self in Hindu philosophy, particularly Vedanta, as in

Sat: Absolute Existence/Being

Chit: Pure Consciousness/Awareness

Ananda: Limitless Bliss / Peace describing a state of being that is eternal, undivided, and inherently joyful

points to:

Consciousness is a foundational attribute of the Absolute, The One Reality.

Under the sway of the emergent psychologies of the time, such as transpersonal psychology, Jungian psychology, and archetypal psychology, as well as the faddish popularity of Indian Gurus, what happened though in those heady and halcyon times was that the question of evil was swept under the rug. Evil was assumed to not exist, and certainly not to be discussed. Instead, the inversions of light polarization and spiritual bypassing were rapidly being popularized. I am reminded of this quote, attributed to different sources but hailing back to early 19th century Quakerism:

“The Devil’s greatest trick is to convince humans that he doesn’t exist.”

The Turning Point

I too was taken in by this! What it took for me to snap out, was reading “The War of the Gods in Addiction” by David Schoen (2009) about 15 years ago. The book is based on a series of letters exchanged between Bill Wilson (Bill W: the founder of AA) and Carl Jung just before his death. Through these letters, Bill W convinces Jung, who previously had been in denial about it, of the existence of archetypal Evil. In Bill W’s view, through various forms of addiction (not just alcohol), a certain point can be reached where the individual soul is taken over by the spirit or agent of addiction. At that point, the individual, either by choice or for survival, surrenders possession of their soul and basic core humanity. Only a direct experience of a “higher power” can remedy the situation.

After reading this really important book, I started opening up to the “Evil” issue. As I did, and as I started talking about it, strange things started to happen, though fortunately not that often: folks leaving the school. They simply would and could not accept the reality of evil, the fact that I was openly talking about it!

So then, what indeed is Evil? And what to do about it? This Part One of my Ramblings is designed to help initiate YOUR inquiry, just as mine is ongoing.

Rudolf Steiner Enters My Awareness

Over the last decade, the latter teachings and writings of Rudolf Steiner have entered my awareness, often via my wife’s input. As far back as the 1980s I had been influenced by the form of astrology, known as Astrosophy, that grew out of Steiner’s inner esoteric circle after his death in 1925. Particularly the works of Elizabeth Vreede, Norman Davidson and Joachim Schultz (some of their books can be found on our resource lists) have had a lasting impact on me. However, I had not until this past decade, gone deeper into the writings of Steiner himself. What initially accelerated my interest was his post-WWI warnings about vaccines: that they would be created to cut off a human being’s connection to Spirit, Soul, and Divinity. Had he presciently and clearly seen the Scamdemic of the Covidcon?

Back to the topic of Evil, several of Steiner’s lectures informed my inquiry:

• November 18, 1917 (Dornach, GA 178): Steiner stated that learning to overcome or transform the powers of evil is a necessity for people in our epoch.

• October 26, 1918 (Dornach, GA 185): In a lecture titled “Evil and the Future of Man,” he argued that the “mission of the age” is for humanity to recognize its evolutionary goals and the forces—specifically the Ahrimanic and Luciferic—that work to undermine them.

• September 23, 1921 (Dornach, GA 207): In “Evil and the Power of Thought,” he discussed how the mystery of evil is a “deep secret” of our current period that humans are still struggling to develop the maturity to face.

• January 25, 1910 (GA 118): He warned that there would be “so much evil and materialism on earth” in the coming century (20th and beyond) that many might fail to recognize the most important spiritual events for humanity.

After you and I spend some more time with this inquiry, in Part Two of this contribution we will explore Steiner’s solution. This will also look into what is meant by Luciferic and Ahrimanic (a clue is to replace Satanic for Ahrimanic). But first, let’s look at the word ‘evil’ itself and how it has evolved and changed over time.

The Word “Evil”

Many will simply say that “evil” is the opposite of “good.” Another approach is to say that evil is the absence of good, or even that evil is the lowest form of good. Many others, particularly of my generation, either deny its existence or spiritually bypass it entirely. I have also heard some say to just reverse the word “evil” to spell “live”, implying that evil is the opposite of living. The Christian biblical view defines evil as anything contrary to the holy nature, will, and commands of God, representing a “spoiling” or privation of good. It encompasses moral wickedness (sin, injustice, rebellion) and, in some contexts, natural calamity or suffering (ra’ah). Ultimately, it is defined as preferring anything above God.

Clues and kernels of truth can be found in each and every one of these conceptions.

Etymology

I love etymology and the origins of the word “evil” are quite interesting. As you all know, I loath AI. But I do value research tools, and in this case, it did offer value to this research.

The etymology of “evil” traces back to a word meaning “to go beyond limits,” originally signifying something “uppity” or “excessive” rather than morally sinister.

Linguistic Evolution

• Proto-Indo-European (PIE): It likely stems from the PIE root *upelo-, a derivative of *upo, which means “up” or “over”. This suggests the original concept was about “exceeding due limits” or extremism.

• Proto-Germanic: The PIE form evolved into *ubilaz, which meant “bad” or “vicious”.

• Old English: The word became yfel, used broadly by Anglo-Saxons to describe anything bad, cruel, unskillful, or even a disease (e.g., “the king’s evil” or scrofula).

Shift in Meaning

• Broad to Specific: In Old and Middle English, “evil” was simply the standard word for “bad”. It wasn’t until the 18th century that it solidified its modern meaning of extreme moral wickedness.

• Replacement by “Bad”: Over time, the word “bad” (which originally had a narrower meaning) took over the general senses of disapproval, while “evil” became reserved for the most serious moral offenses.

The origin and evolution of the word “evil” as shown above will offer great insight once we delve deeper into Steiner’s ideas in Part Two of these Ramblings.

The Importance of Free Will

There is one more topic to introduce to deepen our inquiry, namely Free Will.

The reality of Free Will is essential to this inquiry. TOTAMS has explored the topic of Free Will in a slightly different context, and it is foundational to our astrological paradigm and school. I have always loved Jung’s statement. When asked about free will, he responded that “Free Will means to gladly do what you must do.” From this stems my rephrase of the rather well known words of Jesus: “Many are Called and Few are Chosen.” Instead I say: “Many are called and Few agree!” Being originally a follower of Dane Rudhyar, I learned that one of the main purposes of astrology at this junction point in The Great Turning, is to help each individual align with their Life Purpose. Often, this is not the path of least resistance, and the individual can choose to align with their dharmic intent—or not. As Rudhyar once said:

“If you fail to live your Dharma, there is a hole left in the universe, where you were intended to be!”

Just as Consciousness is foundational to our existence, so is Free Will an essential component of an authentic, pure human being, and central to our inquiry into evil.

Of course, these views run counter to the philosophies and ideas of the technocratic oligarchs, who almost without exception, deny Spirit and Soul, and really believe that consciousness is somehow just a product of the brain. Some even believe that AI and LLM’s can be sentient. The lack of empathy and compassion in these people is becoming increasingly clear. Their court philosopher Yuval Harari is known to have stated: “Free Will? That’s Over.” For them, data is religion, and humans are just algorithms.

Free Will is key to exploring the Enigma of Evil. Hopefully this Part One will spark deep Inquiry. Part Two will explore the approach to recognizing evil and how to confront it, inspired by Rudolf Steiner. In my constantly evolving views of spirituality, philosophy and astrology, I find Steiner’s approach the most useful.

The astonishingly intense astrological aspects just keep compounding and accelerating. In the last two Wizard Weeklies, I have explored the need to revision Taurus, and then Jupiter’s initiatory activation of Cancer. The week before that, I looked at the intensification of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, and my monthly Ramblings article was about the Chiron-Eris conjunction in Aries. This coming week, all of these configurations are in play, and place even more attention on Aries. Once again we are faced with so many aspects that the complexity is certainly beyond easy comprehension. Our intention here is to provide a map and a few clues - a map that applies collectively and globally, as well as in your personal experience.

Mars into Aries

Mars has not been in Aries since April 30 - June 8 2024. He is now in Aries until May 18 of this year. This includes the fateful conjunction with Eris and Chiron around May 16. Classical astrology reckons Mars to “rule” Aries. Two weeks ago I inquired into the dubious value of using ruler-ships, especially now, at the Great Turning. My 56 years of astrological practice, more often than not, reveal the “shadow” of the sign with so-called ruler-ships even more than other sign placements.

The shadow of a strong resonance between Mars and Aries is rather obvious. It is the hijacked patriarchal understanding of both, over the last 2000 years. This includes war, dominance, aggression, “an eye for an eye”, professional armies, and winning. It can be such a regressive match to an equally hijacked patriarchal and classical Cancer.

TOTAMS offers a different vision: Mars and Aries as noble protector of the Sacred Feminine and Cosmic Order. Mars and Aries as symbols not of aggressive need to win, but of motivating our “personal best.” And most importantly, to defend our personal sovereignty from violation.

Mercury is now a morning star in the Pisces Overstory, this being the first sign change since the cycle started on March 20. Let’s hope that Mercury can have the courage to share the wisdom and compassion of Pisces.

Moon conjunct Mars

I am beginning to suspect that this is actually the first and not the second Moon-Mars conjunction since Mars emerged from the underworld. This current Mars synodic cycle does not include a close perigee to the Earth or Sun and is as difficult to see with the morning rise as it was with the evening setting into the underworld last November.

On Wednesday morning a very old Moon crescent will align with Mercury, Mars, Saturn (and Neptune) very low in the brightening dawn. It may be possible to have our first glimpse of Mars. Mercury may be easier to see, Saturn less so. It’s a truly remarkable gathering.

Such an important time ... be aware of it ... Much will unfold before this time frame, as the Jupiter in Cancer largest wave engulfs the 20th United States Jupiter Return.

Navigation Suggestions

The powers that shouldn’t be are utilizing this time frame to be the agents of chaos, attemping to impose their version of “Out of Chaos—Impose Order” in order to hijack the natural law requirements of our times. These natural law requirements are to compost materialism and usher in a new epoch of Prime Earth. This is, indeed, the end of Kali Yuga, a Great Turning of The Ages, and a Fourth Turning.

Applying our school’s Three Worlds approach, remember to, as much as you can, embrace all Three Worlds, without spiritual bypassing, without failing to embrace the actual middle world circumstances you are faced with, and in lessening your fears that we will not ever be able to go back to how things were before. That is no longer possible. The timelines are splitting again, and this is the most powerful choice point yet. Will you commit to remain purely human, with Free Will to choose your humanity, including an ethical and moral framework? Or will you agree to become a creature of synthetic biology that joins the collective borg / hive mind of artificial machine “intelligence”? The latter is neither inevitable nor an indication of “progress.” Rather, it is a regression, a devolution, and the deepest descent into a materialism that rejects Spirit, Soul, and Heart.

On this Easter Sunday, April 5, at 3:23PM PDT, the Sun squares Jupiter at 16Cancer08. This marks a critical turning point within the larger Jupiter in Cancer cycle, a crisis in consciousness.

What is this crisis? And what is this larger initiatory process?

Jupiter in Cancer

Jupiter has often been referred to as the “year star”. As he takes an average of 11.5 years to orbit the Sun, Jupiter takes about a year to move through one whole sign. In China, Jupiter’s movement through their 12 constellations on the celestial equator was the original version of their 12 signs as we know them in Chinese astrology today. The researcher Thomas Tao has found evidence that this attention to Jupiter was the earliest known source of the “twelveness” that has become so foundational to astronomy, astrology and number systems.

Jupiter entered the sign of Cancer last June 9, 2025. The conjunction with the Sun was on June 24, 2025, at 3Cancer21. This was the “seed point” for the intent of this year-long process.

Here are its key punctuations:

• June 09 2025: Jupiter enters Cancer

• June 24 2025: Sun conjunct Jupiter, 03Cancer21 - Cancer seed point

• October 16 2025: Sun waxing square to Jupiter, 24Cancer06 - Crisis in Action

• January 10 2026: Sun opposition to Jupiter, 20Cancer06Rx - Expanded Consciousness or Lunacy

• April 5 2026: Sun waning square to Jupiter, 16Cancer 08 - Crisis in Consciousness

• June 29 2026: Jupiter enters Leo

• July 29 2026: Sun conjunct Jupiter, 06Leo24 - Leo seed point

What is this Crisis?

The meanings and connotations given for the word “crisis” have mutated and evolved over the centuries. In the Western world it started as a medical term referring to a turning point in a disease.

Here is the Greek root:

Greek krisis (act of separating, outcome, or decision)

If one uses current AI definitions we get this:

“A crisis is an unstable, dangerous situation or turning point causing significant disruption, often requiring urgent action or decision-making. It can stem from abrupt, negative events in personal life, economics, politics, or the environment. Key types include financial crashes, natural disasters, and conflict-driven shortages, like the 2026 Middle East crisis affecting global energy.”

In the astrological context, I have always, since the 1970s, used my first mentor Dane Rudhyar’s interpretation:

A waxing square is “Crisis in Action”

The waning square is a “Crisis in Consciousness.”

Both require action!

In case of the waxing square, this action is based on external events requiring some kind of reaction.

In case of the waning square, it is an action hopefully based on the awareness and expanded consciousness engendered by the opposition.

Surely you remember back in January, at the time of the opposition, Venus and Mars were in the underworld - the closest underworld saga of Venus and Mars in 400 years! You can read about it in this article or review my December 2025 vlog.

The current time can be thought of as a referendum as to whether global humanity learned anything. The actions taken now will reflect that.

Jupiter’s Amplification of Cancer

My favorite keywords for Jupiter are expansion, amplification, activation and enthusiasm. In the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm ™, Jupiter symbolizes planetary Dharma, and the sign he moves through is the primary Mystery School of Life amplified and activated during the year of Jupiter’s passage. The meaning of “Dharma”, as we use it, refers to the duty and responsibility each Mystery School has to Global Humanity. It is also what Global Humanity needs from each Mystery School.

So, what is the intention of Jupiter’s amplification of the Cancer Mystery School? And how is it going now that we’ve reached the “Crisis in Consciousness?”

The TOTAMS definition of the Cancer Mystery School is:

“How to provide responsible and personal nourishment and safety to a ‘seed’ until it reaches its maturity.”

This can apply to parent-child, teacher-student, therapist-client, and spiritual teacher-chela relationships. It has a giving nature and operates through the feeling function. Within recent patriarchal structures it has, all too often, been limited to clannish, family and country domains. This is Cancer’s shadow. What we need is a global vision for Cancer. This waning square is designed to motivate us to take action to expand the intent of Cancer to serve all of global humanity. This will require expanding beyond binary partisanship, beyond my team vs your team, my country vs another country. Blood feuds and all that smacks of “an eye for an eye” philosophies are now obsolete and in stark contradiction to the natural empathy of an authentic heart-centered human being.

This quote says it all:

“Only when the sense of the pain of others begins, does man begin.” Yevgeny Yevtushenko

This Cancerian crisis in consciousness is in play with the United States right now. The US has four planets in Cancer:

• Mercury at 24Cancer11RX

• Sun at 13Cancer19

• Jupiter at 5Cancer56

• and Venus at 3Cancer06.

Jupiter and Venus were in the underworld. The United States is now in its 20th Jupiter return.

Quite possibly the most powerful timeline split is upon us. Will the United States follow its dark shadow Cancer path? Or can a Great Awakening restore America to at least some of the original ideals of its Founders? Renewal, a renaissance, and resurrection are always possible. Let’s intend that this Easter!
