I’ve been watching this market long enough to know what this kind of move feels like from the inside. It doesn’t feel like an opportunity. It feels like the bottom might fall out. That’s exactly why it’s worth paying close attention right now.

Let’s look at what the data actually says. The daily RSI is at 17, among the most oversold readings in years. Bitcoin is trading well below the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages. That’s a structural breakdown, not a routine pullback. It doesn’t automatically mean we bounce. But it does mean the selling pressure is historically extreme.

What hasn’t changed: the GENIUS Act is law. Institutional capital is still moving on-chain. Stablecoin infrastructure is scaling. Neil Steinhardt at Nexo told me just a few weeks ago that the amount of institutions willing to work in this space increased considerably after the GENIUS Act passed - and that was before this dip. The fundamentals didn’t break. The sentiment did.

Historically, the moments that feel like this, $60K with a Fear & Greed of 12, are rarely the right time to panic out. They’re the moments that look obvious in hindsight. That said, no one rings a bell at the bottom. If you’re holding through this: know why you’re holding. If you’re watching from the sidelines: know what level brings you back in.

$60K is the line right now. How Bitcoin behaves around it over the next few sessions will set the tone for the weeks ahead.

Price knifed through both the SMA 50 and SMA 200 in a single move, with volume dropping on the way down, which tells you this is not panic selling finding a floor yet - it is a controlled bleed with sellers still in control.

The Death Cross is confirmed on the chart. The Golden Cross that gave bulls hope earlier in the cycle has been fully reversed. There is no timeframe on this chart showing buyers have any edge right now. The AI Social Intelligence Score is 5 out of 100, meaning sentiment from social channels is as negative as it gets.

My bias: BEARISH - oversold but no confirmation of reversal. The RSI is extreme enough that a mean-reversion bounce is possible at any session, but oversold does not mean bottom. There is no Smart Money flow, no timeframe flipping bullish, and no volume spike to suggest capitulation is complete.

What I’m watching: $59,141 is the session low and the immediate line. A close below it on the 12H with sustained volume opens the door toward $52,000, the next visible support. A reclaim of $63,725 on a close would be the first sign buyers are stepping in at scale. Until that happens, any bounce is a relief rally inside a downtrend.

Do not try to catch this falling knife without a confirmed close above structure. Manage your risk accordingly.

The Senate Banking Committee passed the CLARITY Act 15-9. Two Democrats crossed the aisle. Bitcoin hit $82,000. The market reacted the way it should: not with fear or confusion, but with conviction.

I want to be honest. This is not the finish line. The bill needs 60 Senate votes. The ethics provision is still unresolved. The House still needs to act. The White House says July 4th. Senator Lummis says miss August recess and the next window is 2030. Both things can be true.

But here’s what changed today: the most important crypto legislation in a decade cleared a major hurdle with bipartisan support. Fidelity backed it publicly. Chuck Schumer said Democrats want a good crypto bill to pass. When the opposition leader says that, you’re in a different fight than you were six months ago.

And it didn’t happen in isolation. Kevin Warsh, the first crypto-friendly Fed Chair in history, was confirmed Wednesday. JPMorgan announced a tokenized money-market fund on Ethereum. Tokenized treasuries hit a $15B all-time high. The UAE started accepting crypto for government fees.

This is not one headline. This is a pattern.

Bitcoin at $82K is the line. A Golden Cross is forming on the 12H chart. The weekly flips bullish on a confirmed close above $82K tonight. If it holds, $92K to $98K opens.

The CLARITY Act going to the full Senate is the catalyst we have been waiting for. Today might be the day we look back on and say: that’s when the next leg started.

Before Bitcoin 2026 started, the FUD was loud. People were saying nobody was coming. Bear market, wrong year, wrong energy. They were wrong.

Bitcoin 2026 drew somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 people, right in line with last year when JD Vance headlined and the price was considerably higher. Michael Saylor returned and gave a standing-room only talk. Jack Mallers delivered one of the best keynotes of the conference. Mark Moss was on point. Eric Trump’s panel drew a massive crowd. And Afroman’s performance pulled just as many people as any suit on stage. The energy was there. The people were there. Anyone who told you otherwise wasn’t.

The politicians showed up in force too. Acting AG Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, CFTC Chairman Mike Selig, Senator Lummis pushing the BITCOIN Act. Unprecedented. But here’s what was telling: the FBI Director’s panel was attended minimally compared to Saylor and Eric Trump. The Bitcoin community was polite about it, but they made clear who they came to see. This conference belongs to the Bitcoin natives. The suits are welcome guests, not the main event.

The short version: the regulatory picture is complicated and the turf wars are getting louder, not quieter, as the CFTC suing Wisconsin this week proved.

These macro conditions historically favour hard assets, and the institutional floor under this market has not moved.

Bitcoin is trading around $77,000 today, up roughly 13% in April and holding above the key $76,200 support level -- the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement. The week dipped toward $75,000 mid-conference as oil surged and leveraged positions were flushed out, with over $110M in BTC liquidations accelerating the move. Buyers stepped back in and the structure held. Price is now consolidating in the $76,200 to $79,000 range, pressing up toward the $78,500 resistance zone where sellers have been active.

My bias: CAUTIOUSLY BULLISH. Bitcoin is stronger than ETH right now and the macro environment is improving. Institutional flows remain the floor -- ETF inflows are steady and exchange reserves continue to fall as more BTC moves into cold storage. The Iran conflict and oil prices are the main overhang weighing on risk assets, but any easing of those tensions could give BTC a clean run at $80,000.

What I’m watching: A confirmed daily close above $78,500 opens the path toward $80,000 and beyond. Failure to hold $76,200 on a retest risks a move toward $73,500.

The thing that stayed with me most wasn’t the Midnight demo, as impressive as that was. It was what he said about the Clarity Act. His argument is surgical: under the current bill’s language, Ethereum would be a security. XRP would be a security. Cardano would be a security. The mature blockchain standard as written gives no viable path for a new project to grow into something decentralized — no exchange listings, no community building, no VC, no liquidity. The incumbents escape because they already got big under ambiguity. Everyone who comes next gets crushed by the law the incumbents helped write. He called it what it is: a ladder being pulled up.

What makes the take land harder is that Charles openly admits the Clarity Act is good for him personally. Cardano gets a pass. Midnight gets a pass. He’s arguing against his own financial interest, and that’s rare enough in this industry to be worth paying attention to.

On Midnight Network: the concept most people are still underestimating is what he calls the agent economy. By 2035, the majority of internet commerce won’t be conducted by humans — it will be AI agents transacting on behalf of humans. Agents need a language to talk to each other. That language is proofs. Bitcoin is trading at $78,106 this morning, up 5.81% on the week and holding above $78K for the second consecutive day — a level it hadn’t opened above since early February before the Iran conflict began. The breakout is real, but it’s contested. BTC hit its highest point since January on Wednesday before sellers stepped in just beneath $80,000. Futures open interest remains at historically elevated levels while funding rates have turned negative — a rare combination that some analysts are calling a “most hated” rally, meaning short pressure could accelerate the move if bears are forced to unwind.

My bias: CAUTIOUSLY BULLISH. The structure is constructive. Institutional flows remain the floor. It opened Monday down 2.5%, bounced back toward $75,000 by mid-morning as institutional buyers stepped in, and that has been the pattern all month: macro shock, dip, institutional buy. BlackRock’s IBIT alone pulled $284M in a single day on April 17. The floor is real. But BTC has failed six times to hold above $76K and the Iran ceasefire clock is still ticking. That weekly close above $76K is the signal I’m watching.

On the DeFi side, KelpDAO got exploited on Tuesday. Attackers found a flaw in the way it verified prices before processing large withdrawals and drained $293 million in 46 minutes. The ripple effect hit Aave, essentially a DeFi lending bank, which was left with $196 million in loans it may not fully recover. If you hold, lend, or earn yield on any cross-chain protocol, the full breakdown is worth reading.

Vercel confirmed a breach on April 19. It’s the platform that hosts the frontend of a huge slice of the Web3 ecosystem, the actual websites you interact with when you use a dApp. Compromised via a supply-chain attack through a third-party AI tool. Bitcoin has broken $78,000 and is almost holding above it. Today’s high touched $78,333 before pulling back slightly, with price now consolidating above $77,000.

The daily is bullish across every shorter timeframe. RSI sits at 67.9, elevated but not yet overextended. On the weekly chart, MACD has flipped bullish for the first time since September 2025. That is the higher timeframe signal that matters most this week. One caveat: the weekly candle is still reading bearish on the dashboard. All shorter timeframes are bullish. That split tells you the daily trend is recovering while the weekly has not yet confirmed. A strong weekly close fixes that.

My bias: BULLISH, accelerating. Bitcoin is testing a descending trendline for the second time this year. A confirmed daily close above $78,500 with above-average volume breaks that trendline and opens the path to $80,000 and $82,000 before Bitcoin 2026 Las Vegas. If we see a rejection back below $76,000, I will reassess. The structure does not suggest that is the likely outcome.

What I’m watching: That daily close above $78,500. Volume is the confirmation signal. Without it, the move is a wick until proven otherwise.

Let the market do the work. Don’t fight the structure.

Bitcoin is breaking out. $75K has been cleared this morning and price is holding above it. This is the level we’ve been flagging for three editions.

The 4H structure is clean: higher highs, higher lows, and Smart Money positioning that’s been accumulating since the March 30 low. RSI is elevated but not yet overextended. There’s room to run before a meaningful cooldown. The S&P 500’s longest win streak since October 2025 is providing macro tailwind, and institutional ETF inflows are absorbing sell pressure at every retest.

My bias: BULLISH, cautiously aggressive. The macro variable that matters most this week is the Middle East peace deal narrative. If that holds and we get a daily close above $75K, the door to $80K opens before the conference. Watch Thursday’s close.

What I’m watching: A clean daily close above $75,500 with above-average volume. If we get that, $78K-$80K becomes the next range. If we lose $73K on a daily close, the breakout has failed and we reassess.

Don’t chase the wick. Let price confirm.

📊 MARKET ANALYSIS, ETHEREUM 4H

ETH is lagging BTC on this move, which is normal in the early stage of a Bitcoin breakout. The question is whether it catches up.

The 4H is showing consolidation rather than distribution, which is a constructive sign. Smart Money signals are neutral-to-bullish, RSI has room to expand, and the Golden Cross on the daily is still intact. ETH tends to follow BTC with a 24-48 hour lag on breakout moves. If BTC holds $75K into Wednesday, expect ETH to start moving.

My bias: BULLISH, waiting for confirmation. ETH needs a daily close above its current range high to turn aggressive. Until then, this is a patient setup.

What I’m watching: ETH holding its current support range and a BTC daily confirmation. When ETH starts outperforming BTC on a percentage basis, that’s when this gets loud.

Note: BMNR just crossed 4% of all ETH. As of April 12, 2026, Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR) holds 4,874,858 ETH, representing 4.04% of the entire ETH supply of 120.7 million tokens. That is $10.75 billion worth of ETH, with 3.33 million tokens already staked through their MAVAN validator network generating $212 million in annualized staking revenue. Tom Lee’s firm has been buying aggressively for four consecutive weeks and calls this the “final stages of the mini-crypto winter.” Their stated goal is 5%, what they call the “Alchemy of 5%”, and they are 81% of the way there in just 9 months. For context, this mirrors what Strategy did to Bitcoin’s narrative. One firm accumulating 4% of the entire supply is not a trade. It is a structural shift in who owns ETH and what that means for price discovery.

⭐⭐⭐ Japan officially recognizes cryptocurrency as a financial asset. This is landmark legislation from the world’s third largest economy. It doesn’t make the price go up tomorrow. It changes the floor for where this industry is permitted to go.

US Treasury shares classified cybersecurity threat intelligence with crypto firms for the first time. The same briefings quietly given to JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs for years. Washington just decided crypto infrastructure is a national security matter.

Clarity Act gaining real momentum. SEC Chair Paul Atkins, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, and Senator Lummis all called for passage in the same week. Lummis put a deadline on it: “This is our last chance until at least 2030.”

• $175 million in shorts liquidated in 60 minutes as Bitcoin pushed toward $74K Monday. That is what a short squeeze looks like in real time.

• Circle drops nearly 10%. Compass Point initiates with a Sell rating. The issue: revenue-sharing deals with Binance, Sky, and Ethena are compressing margins even as USDC supply grows. More supply, thinner profits.

• Deutsche Börse acquires a $200M stake in Kraken. The German stock exchange is buying into crypto infrastructure. Every institution that follows brings this market further inside the system.

Bitcoin surged past $70K for the first time since March 26, driven by Trump’s two-week US-Iran ceasefire announcement. ETH followed, hitting its highest since March 18. Total market cap reached $2.52T on $123B in 24-hour volume. BTC dominance sits at 56.8%.

Despite the move, confirmation still hasn’t come. Bitcoin remains below all major moving averages and the bearish pennant is still technically in play. Resistance at $76K is the key level. A clean 4H close above that with volume changes the picture. Until then, this is a relief rally in an uncertain macro environment, not a trend reversal.

Ethereum cleared $2,200 for the first time since March 18, its first meaningful level of strength in months. Altcoins followed the bounce broadly, but volume is thin across the board and most names remain well below their early 2026 highs. A relief rally in a bear market looks identical to the start of a recovery until it isn’t. The altcoin market needs BTC to clear and hold $76K before any of these moves carry structural weight.

The key catalyst is still ahead: CLARITY Act roundtable April 16, and the Iran ceasefire holding over the next two weeks. Watch both.

Bitcoin is still compressing inside the descending wedge with no breakout yet. The weekly and daily are both bearish, the 3H is neutral, and the 45M is starting to turn bullish — which tells you short-term buyers are trying, but the bigger trend hasn’t confirmed anything. RSI sitting at 46 with Smart Money OUT means there’s no real conviction in either direction right now. The one thing worth watching is volatility at 4.48% — heading into a thin Easter weekend, that’s a setup for fast moves on relatively little volume.

Today’s jobs print (228K vs. 140K estimated) adds another layer of uncertainty. Strong employment pushes rate cut expectations further out and removes a near-term catalyst for risk assets. That doesn’t kill the bull case, but it does mean we need actual price confirmation, not just narrative, before the wedge resolves higher.

What I’m watching: A 4H close above the descending trendline with volume is the signal — that opens the path to $75,714. On the downside, lose $67,183 and $63,725 comes back into play. The Monday open will be the first real read after the holiday weekend.

The weekly is bearish, the daily is neutral, and the 3H has flipped bearish — the AI flagged a take-profit near the recent local high and price has since pulled back to $2,051, sitting just a few dollars above the $2,047 support level. Volatility at 2.01% is notably compressed compared to Bitcoin’s 4.48%, which typically signals one of two things: either a quiet weekend where nothing much happens, or a sharp move the moment something breaks.

The Glamsterdam hard fork in June — which bumps the gas limit from 60M to 200M — is a building narrative that institutional buyers are starting to pay attention to. But that’s a medium-term story. Right now, ETH under-performing BTC heading into a low-volume Easter weekend is not a setup for aggressive positioning.

What I’m watching: Hold above $2,047 and the structure stays intact heading into next week. Lose that level and $1,997 comes into focus. A clean 4H close above $2,082 would be the re-engagement signal, with $2,419 as the next meaningful target.

The 3H and 45M are bullish. The 1W and 1D are still bearish. That split tells you we’re in a decision zone, not a trend. AI signals are stacking up in the $67,400–$68,000 range at the lower wedge boundary — that’s the line in the sand. Volatility at 2.56%, RSI neutral at 60.3, Smart Money reads OUT — accumulation beneath the surface, not distribution.

My bias: cautiously bullish — but macro-dependent. The single biggest variable right now isn’t the chart, it’s the Iran situation. If Trump tweets that the war is coming to an end, we push up — hard. If headlines shift back toward escalation, we move down just as fast. This is a news-driven market right now, and that means volatility in both directions without much warning.

What I will say with more confidence: the Fear & Greed Index is sitting at 8 — almost an all-time low. Historically, readings this low don’t stay there long. We are definitively closer to the bottom than the top. Long-term investors should be paying very close attention right now. This is the kind of entry window that looks obvious in hindsight and terrifying in the moment.

What I’m watching: A close above the descending trendline on the 4H with volume. That’s the trigger for $75,714 first, then the $79,000–$82,000 range. Lose $67,408 convincingly and we revisit $63,725 — that’s where the bull case gets stress-tested.

This week a single transaction became the most talked-about event in DeFi. Not because of a hack, not because of a rug, but because of a checkbox.

A trader swapped $50.4 million USDT through Aave’s interface, routing through CoW Protocol and SushiSwap, and received 324 AAVE tokens in return. At market price, that’s roughly $36,000. The remaining $50.36 million evaporated — MEV bots took ~$10M, block builders extracted ~$33.6M, and Aave collected ~$600K in fees (later refunded).

The structure is turning.

After weeks of compression below the 200 SMA on the 4H, Bitcoin has reclaimed it — and more importantly, is now closing above the descending trendline that defined the entire February downtrend. That line capped every rally attempt for over a month. Breaking it cleanly is the signal bulls were waiting for.

A Golden Cross has printed on the 4H with the 50 SMA crossing above the 200 SMA — a momentum confirmation that historically precedes sustained moves. The multi-timeframe picture is constructive: bullish on the 1D and 3H, RSI at 64 with room to run before overbought territory, and volume picking up on the move higher. Smart Money reads OUT — the footprint of accumulation, not distribution.

Watch for low volume this weekend. Thin weekends create noise. The trend is your friend until the structure says otherwise — and right now, the structure is saying higher.

Market Analysis — Ethereum 4H

ETH is showing something Bitcoin hasn’t done yet! It already broke a new local high within the channel.

While Bitcoin is testing the descending trendline from below, Ethereum has pushed through it and printed a higher high on the 4H. That’s short-term momentum leadership. A Golden Cross has also printed on ETH’s 4H, mirroring Bitcoin’s signal, and the multi-timeframe dashboard is bullish across the 3H and composite. RSI sits at 65.8 — neutral with room to extend, and volatility running hotter than Bitcoin at 6.71%, meaning sharper moves in both directions.

The key difference from Bitcoin: ETH has not yet flipped bullish on the 1D. The daily is still neutral. This is a 4H-led move. Momentum is real but needs the daily to confirm before it becomes a higher-timeframe trend shift. When that flip comes, the move becomes considerably more convincing.

The immediate target is the green resistance line at $2,419. That level aligns with prior structure and is where short-term sellers are likely positioned. Hold above $2,028 and ETH has a clean path to test it. Smart Money reads OUT across the board — accumulation, not distribution.

ETH is leading on short-term momentum. Bitcoin is leading on timeframe confirmation. Both setups are constructive.

The Moat Just Broke.

For decades, the Federal Reserve’s master account system was sealed off from crypto. You could build the best exchange in the world and still had to beg a bank to touch the rails.

That changed this week.

Kraken became the first crypto bank in US history to receive a Federal Reserve master account. Direct access to Fedwire. The same payment infrastructure JPMorgan settles on. The banking lobby responded within hours. Groups representing JPMorgan, Goldman and Bank of America called it “deeply concerning”, arguing it happened too fast, without proper framework.

What they meant: we didn’t plan for this…

The moat was never just regulation. It was access. This week, a crypto-native institution walked across it for the first time.

The Kraken news doesn’t stand alone. The same day, OKX announced a direct strategic investment from ICE, parent company of the NYSE, at a $25 billion valuation. ICE joins the board, licenses OKX spot prices for US-regulated futures, and OKX’s 120 million users gain access to NYSE tokenized equities markets.

Two of the largest crypto exchanges in the world connected to the core of traditional financial infrastructure in the same week. One through the Federal Reserve. One through the NYSE. The convergence is no longer coming. It’s here.

This all lands the same week Trump publicly accused the banks of holding the GENIUS Act hostage. The Fed moved without waiting for Congress to finish arguing.

The message was simple: stop blocking crypto legislation or lose the industry to China. He called out the GENIUS Act and Clarity Act by name, accused banks of holding legislation hostage while posting record profits, and signed off as “President DONALD J. TRUMP” — the capital letters doing exactly what they were meant to do.

This isn’t a background policy position anymore. The sitting president is publicly pressuring the banking lobby in real time, on social media, over crypto legislation.

Which brings us to the infrastructure layer. While Washington fights over the rules, builders are already laying the rails.

Bitcoin 4Hour chart Reclaims the 200 MA — Downtrend Line Breaking

Bitcoin is doing exactly what the structure called for.

After weeks of compression below the 200 MA, BTC has pushed back above it on the 4H, flipping the daily timeframe to bullish and confirming the move that patient holders were waiting for. The red 200 SMA held as resistance through the February downtrend. Now it’s flipping to support.

More importantly, the dotted descending trendline that has capped every rally since early February is breaking. That line defined the entire downtrend structure. Price is now testing and closing above it, a technical signal that the sellers who controlled this range are losing grip.

The current pullback to $70,000 is healthy and expected. After a sharp move through two key levels, the 200 MA and the descending trendline, price needs to retest. The $70K level is now the line in the sand. If it holds as support, the next leg higher has a clean path toward $75,700, where the next significant resistance sits on the chart.

The multi-timeframe dashboard confirms the picture: bullish on the 1D and 3H, RSI neutral at 56 with room to run, and volume picking up on the move higher. Smart money positioning shows mostly out, meaning accumulation, not distribution.

The structure is clean. $70K holds, and this move has legs.

A Note on Altcoins

The altcoin market is relatively quiet compared to Bitcoin’s move, which is typical in the early stages of a BTC breakout. Capital rotates to BTC first.

A few names worth watching:

• OKX/$OKB — Secured a direct strategic investment from ICE, parent company of the NYSE, at a $25 billion valuation. ICE joins the board, licenses OKX spot prices for US-regulated futures, and OKX's 120 million users gain access to NYSE tokenized equities. The same week Kraken connected to the Fed, OKX connected to the NYSE.

• $JUP Jupiter — Continuing to assert itself as one of the top DEXs on Solana, holding volume dominance as activity across the Solana ecosystem stays elevated.

• $NEAR Protocol — Generating interest around its AI-driven NEAR Intents system, positioning itself at the intersection of AI and blockchain in a way that’s attracting developer attention.

• $ICP & $HYPE — Both showing early signs of movement on the L1 front, though neither has broken out convincingly yet.

  The altcoin season signal isn’t flashing yet. But the setups are forming. When Bitcoin confirms $70K as support and sentiment shifts, the rotation will be fast. These are the names to have on your radar when it does.

A decisive break above the current consolidation range, which formed after the February 5 dip, is required to shift momentum more convincingly.

A key technical factor is the downward-sloping 200-day moving average (200MA). Bitcoin must break above this level and establish support on it to transition into bullish territory.

Once price breaks out of the descending channel, the next step would be establishing a series of higher highs and higher lows, ideally building support above the $70K level.

Although the 4-hour timeframe and lower are showing bullish momentum, the 1-day chart will not turn bullish until price breaks the channel and reclaims the key moving averages.

Immediate Resistance

• $69,500 – $70,400: Confluence zone near the 200 SMA and prior supply

• $75,700: Higher-timeframe resistance pivot

• $85,000: Major structural resistance from the breakdown area

Support

• $66,250: Recent breakout base

• $63,725: Key swing low

• $60,000: Psychological and structural support

A rejection at $70K that produces another lower high would reinforce continuation toward the $66K–$63K region. Conversely, a clean break and sustained hold above $70.4K would open the path toward $75K.

The $60,000 to $63,000 zone remains a high-interest accumulation area if retested. The Smart Money indicator remains neutral to defensive, which may reflect seller exhaustion rather than renewed distribution. A breakout in OBV would confirm renewed capital inflows.

Ethereum 4H Technical Outlook: Counter-Trend Bounce Into 200 MA Resistance

Ethereum is trading near $2,045 on the 4 hour Binance chart, attempting to stabilize after a sharp selloff from the $3,400 region ahead of the late January crash. Price bounced from the $1,950 to $1,960 area and is now pressing into key moving average resistance, specifically the downward sloping 200 day moving average.

While short term momentum has improved, the broader 4 hour structure remains bearish beneath the 200 day MA. A decisive break above this level, followed by sustained support, is required to shift Ethereum back into a bullish structure. The reaction in the $2,090 to $2,100 region will determine whether this is simply a relief bounce or the start of a broader structural recovery.

This was the year crypto shifted from speculation to integration. Governments formed national Bitcoin reserves, altcoin ETFs entered the mainstream, real-world assets began flowing on-chain. In many ways, 2025 was the “reset” year before the next era of global adoption.

Among the hundreds of headlines, here are the ones that made the top of the list.

The Top 5 Events That Defined Crypto in 2025:

1. The U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (March 2025)

On March 6, 2025, President Trump signed the executive order for the Establishment of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR). This move officially categorized Bitcoin as a "strategic national asset" alongside gold and petroleum.

• Initial Capital: The reserve was seeded with approximately 200,000 BTC (worth ~$17 billion at the time) held by the federal government from previous criminal forfeitures.

• The “Million Coin” Plan: Senator Cynthia Lummis’ BITCOIN Act of 2025 aims to legislate the purchase of 1 million BTC over five years, capped at 200,000 BTC per year, to reach roughly 5% of the total BTC supply. After months of bipartisan negotiations and 38 GOP concessions, the bill is scheduled to hold a formal markup of the bill in early 2026.

So how can the U.S. add more BTC to its strategic reserve in 2026 without spending taxpayer money?

The Three Main Funding “Tricks”

1. Gold Revaluation (The “Digital Gold” Swap): The U.S. currently values its gold at a “statutory price” of roughly $42.22 per ounce, a number fixed in 1973. By legally “marking to market” this gold to its current price (e.g., $4,300/oz), the Treasury creates hundreds of billions in “new” accounting value on its balance sheet. This allows them to issue new gold certificates to the Federal Reserve in exchange for the cash needed to buy Bitcoin.

2. Federal Reserve Remittances: The Fed typically earns interest on the securities it holds and sends the “leftover” profit (remittances) to the Treasury. The BITCOIN Act proposes diverting a portion of these profits of up to $6 billion per year, specifically for Bitcoin purchases.

3. Fed Surplus Funds: The Federal Reserve Banks maintain a capital surplus account. The proposed plan would reduce the cap on this surplus, transferring the excess funds directly to the Treasury’s general fund to be used for the reserve.

   

Why 2026 is the Critical Year

While 2025 was about laying the legal groundwork and centralizing the ~200,000 BTC reserve. We expect the U.S. government to move from passive holder to active buyer in 2026, and the mere act of the world’s largest superpower adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet should serve as a massive “wake-up call” for the bulls.

2. Bybit Hack: The World’s Largest Crypto Heist of $1.5 billion in ETH (Feb 2025)

The Bybit hack on February 21, 2025, stands as the largest cryptocurrency heist in history, with $1.5 billion in Ethereum (ETH) stolen by North Korean state-sponsored actors known as the Lazarus Group (or “TraderTraitor”).

The attackers first gained access to the Safe{Wallet} (formerly Gnosis Safe) website code and injected a “sleeper” script.

• The Trick: The screen showed the Bybit admins exactly what they expected: a routine transfer to their internal “Warm Wallet” with the correct addresses.

• The Reality: Behind that image, the hidden code swapped the command. The wallet was actually being told to hand over total ownership to a North Korean address.

• The Trap: Because hardware security devices (like a Ledger) display complex raw data instead of clear names, the admins trusted the “correct” info on their monitors and hit “confirm.” This fatal reliance on a faked visual interface is known as Blind Signing.

Essentially, the hackers didn’t pick the lock; they tricked the owner into handing over the keys by making the theft look like a routine task.

Strategic Conversion: Convert the ETH to BTC

Hackers quickly converted roughly 86% of the 401,347 stolen ETH into Bitcoin (BTC).

Why? Because it’s censorship resistance: Unlike Ethereum or stablecoins (USDT/USDC), which allow issuers to potentially blacklist or freeze addresses, Bitcoin lacks a centralized “kill switch”. This resulted in North Korea accumulating approximately 14,500 to 16,000 BTC from this single hack. Chainalysis estimate that North Korea’s total sovereign Bitcoin “war chest” now sits between 35,000 and 40,000 BTC.

3. ETF Maturity and Altcoin ETF’s (Sep 2025)

In 2025, the 'Big Two'—Bitcoin and Ethereum—officially graduated from experimental novelties to foundational institutional assets, now commanding the vast majority of the regulated crypto market. This maturation, paired with new SEC listing standards, paved the way for a second wave of ETF products including Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin. As the market expands, this trend is set to accelerate into 2026 with a new frontier of infrastructure-focused ETF picks.

The Institutional Titans: Bitcoin & Ethereum

• Bitcoin (Launched Jan 11, 2024): As the clear institutional favorite, Bitcoin ETFs reached $137 billion in AUM by December 2025, capturing roughly 80% of all crypto ETF market share and cementing BTC’s role as a “digital macro hedge” for global wealth managers.

• Ethereum (Launched July 23, 2024): Ethereum ETFs matured into the primary “utility” play, attracting steady inflows that drove AUM to $28 billion by year-end. While overshadowed by Bitcoin’s volume, ETH saw a significant 2025 pivot as public companies aggressively added it to their treasuries, with corporate holdings climbing past 5 million ETH.

The Altcoin “Fast-Track” (SOL & XRP)

The SEC’s September 2025 approval of “generic listing standards” allowed assets with mature futures markets to bypass the long review process, sparking a late-year surge for the next tier of altcoin ETFs.

• Solana (SOL): On October 28, 2025, Bitwise launched $BSOL, the first U.S. spot Solana ETF with built-in staking rewards. It saw immediate success, recording over $750 million in inflows by late December as investors sought exposure to the network’s high-speed transaction growth.

• XRP: Following the final resolution of the Ripple lawsuit, Canary Capital ($XPRC) and Bitwise (XRP) launched spot XRP ETFs in November 2025. XRP proved to be the “dark horse” of the winter, recording a record-breaking $245 million in first-day inflows and defying a broader December market slump to add over $1 billion in total assets.

2026 Outlook: The Next Wave of ETFs

The SEC’s shift toward generic listing standards has opened the door for crypto assets with strong liquidity and security profiles. Here are the top contenders for 2026:

Chainlink (LINK)
Grayscale has approval to convert its Chainlink Trust (GLNK) into a spot ETF, expected to begin trading in early 2026. Institutions see LINK not as a currency but as essential infrastructure powering RWA tokenization, with more than $27 trillion in value secured by its oracles.

Avalanche (AVAX)
VanEck’s AVAX Spot ETF filing is one of the first in line for 2026. Avalanche spent 2025 cementing its role as the enterprise-ready blockchain, with major pilots like FIFA’s ticketing subnet and a $240B real estate tokenization project positioning AVAX as a regulated-friendly alternative to Solana.

4. Establishing the GENIUS Act (July 2025)

The GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins), signed into law on July 18, 2025, is the most significant piece of legislation for the crypto industry to date. It didn’t just “regulate” stablecoins; it formally integrated them into the U.S. banking system.

For years, the industry lived in fear of the SEC labeling stablecoins as unregistered securities. The GENIUS Act permanently amended federal law to explicitly state that “payment stablecoins” are neither securities nor commodities.

The “1:1 Iron Rule” for Reserves

To prevent a repeat of the Terra/Luna collapse, the GENIUS Act established strict mandates for what can back a stablecoin:

• Allowed Assets: 100% backing by U.S. currency, short-term Treasury bills (maturities under 90 days), or deposits at insured banks.

• Prohibited: Rehypothecation (lending out the reserves), algorithmic “rebalancing,” or backing with other cryptocurrencies is strictly illegal for licensed issuers.

• Transparency: Issuers must publish monthly, independently audited reports of their reserve composition.

Bankruptcy Protection for Holders

Before this Act, if a stablecoin issuer went bust, holders were often considered “unsecured creditors” (at the back of the line for payouts). The GENIUS Act changed the Bankruptcy Code to ensure stablecoin holders have a senior priority claim on the reserves. If an issuer fails, the reserves are legally “segregated,” meaning they belong to the users, not the company’s creditors.

Why it Mattered in 2025

The impact was immediate. Within 90 days of the Act passing, mentions of stablecoins on U.S. corporate earnings calls increased 10x, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs moved their internal ledgers to permission blockchains, and stablecoin supply surged from $200B to nearly $300B by the end of the year.

The GENIUS Act effectively transformed stablecoins from "crypto-native tools" into "Programmable Dollars." The Act has brought the "Wild West" era of algorithmic experimentation to a close and inaugurated the era of Internet-Native Finance, where the U.S. Dollar can now move at the speed of data with full federal protection.

5. The $126k BTC All-Time-High & The “Black Friday” Flash Crash

If the first half of 2025 was about big banks and institutions finally moving in, the final three months were a reality check. The market shifted from a "safe" story about new ETFs and limited supply to a chaotic struggle against global trade wars and political shockwaves. This collision between Wall Street's new money and real-world economic stress led to a "perfect storm" that tested the market's limits, beginning with a historic high and ending in a record-breaking crash.

• The All-Time High (October 6): Following a wave of record-breaking ETF inflows and a favorable political climate, Bitcoin smashed through its previous ceilings to hit $126,198. The “Uptober” sentiment was at an all-time high, with retail and institutional leverage piling into long positions in anticipation of a $150k year-end finish.

• The “Tariff Shock” (October 10): The euphoria ended abruptly on Friday, October 10. President Trump’s surprise announcement of a 100% tariff on Chinese imports sent shockwaves through global markets. While traditional markets were already closed for the weekend, the 24/7 crypto market bore the full brunt of the panic.

• The $19 Billion “Liquidation Cascade”: The geopolitical news acted as the match, but the “kindling” was extreme over-leverage. As prices began to slip, automated liquidation systems triggered a chain reaction. Within hours, a record $19.4 billion in positions were wiped out: an event nine times larger than any previous crash, including the FTX collapse.

The Current Landscape (December 31, 2025)

We are ending the year in a “reset” phase. Bitcoin is currently hovering near $88,000, roughly 30% below its October peak but still remarkably resilient compared to previous cycles.

While the “retail vibe” is understandably negative after the October wipeout, institutional conviction remains unshakeable. Leaders like BlackRock’s Larry Fink continue to note that “legitimate long owners”—including sovereign wealth funds—are using this drawdown to accumulate, viewing 2025 as the year crypto officially graduated to a “well-lit establishment”.

2026 Outlook: The Dawn of the Infrastructure & Yield Era

If 2025 was the year we built the foundations of crypto ownership, 2026 is the year we start putting those assets to work. The “next frontier” is moving beyond simple price exposure and toward native yield generation within the regulated ETF wrapper.

• Staking in ETFs (ETH & SOL): 2026 will be the year “Staked ETFs” go mainstream, capturing the 3–7% native rewards of the Ethereum and Solana networks directly in their brokerage accounts. You won’t just bet on the price; you’ll earn the “interest” of the digital economy.

• The “BTCFi” Movement (Yield for Bitcoin): While Bitcoin doesn’t have native staking, 2026 is the year “Bitcoin Finance” goes institutional. I expect the first wave of “Yield-Generating BTC” products.

• The Industrialization of Altcoin ETFs: With the SEC’s "generic listing standards" now operational, the market is expanding beyond the "Big Two." We expect 2026 to see a deluge of spot ETFs targeting the "Utility Layer." This includes assets like Chainlink (LINK) and Avalanche (AVAX), which have matured from experimental protocols into essential service providers for traditional finance.

The Big Question: Will $100k be the New Permanent Floor?

The most debated topic heading into the new year is whether we will enter the “Permanent Six-Figure Era.” After the massive $19B “cleansing” in October 2025, the market ended the year near $88,000, but with a much healthier foundation.

Analysts from Standard Chartered and Bernstein are now clustering their 2026 targets between $150,000 and $200,000, suggesting that the days of Bitcoin trading in the five-digits may be numbered. With the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve acting as a sovereign backstop and the GENIUS Act bringing trillions in stablecoin liquidity to the table, many believe that once Bitcoin reclaims $100,000 in early 2026, it will become a permanent “institutional floor” that we never look back from.

Market Analysis:

Bitcoin Ranging Within the Channel: Short-Term 4-Hour Outlook

Bitcoin continues to struggle with the $90,000 resistance zone. We saw a brief breakout above $90,000 on Monday morning, but as mentioned in previous newsletters, Tuesday is typically the day that needs to confirm momentum for the week. So far, Tuesday the 22nd has brought a rejection back toward $87,000, keeping price locked in the broader $85,000 to $90,000 range.

Crypto remains a lower priority for major traders as capital continues rotating into the equity markets, which have been pushing to new highs. The Engineering Robo algorithm remains bearish across nearly every timeframe. While the 4-hour chart has printed small buy signals, there are still no confirmed one-day or one-week buy signals, which suggests smart money is largely sitting out.

On a positive note, OBV is starting to rise, hinting at accumulation. However, I am not expecting a Santa Claus rally for Bitcoin before December 31. January may tell a different story. We go deeper into this in CCS Weekly #1 with Golden Yogi, where we discuss how current levels could represent a bottom. As IncomeSharks often reminds the community, bottoms can take weeks or months to form. The top is usually the quick part. It is much easier to buy a bottom than it is to time a top.

With that in mind, this area could still be the bottoming region for Bitcoin, even if it does not form a sharp V-shaped reversal. Interestingly, Cathie Wood and ARK Invest have already begun rotating Tesla gains into Bitcoin and Ethereum-related equities such as Coinbase and $IBIT, suggesting long-term confidence in the crypto market’s next leg.

Ethereum $ETH Medium Term Outlook : 12H Timeframe

Ethereum continues to move closely with Bitcoin, trading in a tight range between $2,750 and $3,200 over the past month. The $2,900 level once again acted as the fair value zone, continuing ETH’s reputation as the “best stablecoin” since 2021.

The overall trend remains bearish on all major timeframes with smart money still out. ETH is unlikely to make a meaningful move until Bitcoin can break above $95,000. Volume remains weak and OBV has trended downward since October 10, which suggests limited upside until OBV can break its downward resistance line shown above. Liquidity continues flowing into equities and precious metals, both pushing new all time highs, reducing momentum for Crypto and ETH.

The ETHBTC pair is also leaning bearish but stable. If Bitcoin recovers, Ethereum will likely follow with similar strength. December has been slightly more favorable for ETH over BTC, so we will see if that continues into early 2026.

Altcoins remain quiet and most are consolidating near their lows. They will not see meaningful moves until Ethereum or Bitcoin show strength. Long term investors may view this time to accumulate altcoin projects with quality fundamentals, as most are near their yearly lows.

Next-Generation Cybersecurity: Stopping Attacks Before They Happen

Secondly, we spoke with Alexander Rogan from Abatis ABTU about cybersecurity, not only in Web3 but across the broader computing landscape, including military-grade protection and modern cyberwarfare. I had the pleasure of interviewing Alexander six or seven years ago, and since then he has taken over a cybersecurity firm and elevated it to true military and enterprise-grade capability. Their focus is on protecting Web3 infrastructure and stopping threats before they occur.

Building the Multi-Chain Future: Connecting UTXO and EVM Into One Web3 Ecosystem

Lastly, we spoke with ApexFusion, a multi-chain architecture platform that is now connecting UTXO chains such as Bitcoin, Cardano, Litecoin, and Dogecoin into the EVM ecosystem. They’ve developed a tri-chain architecture built with Cardano technology that allows UTXO assets to enter the world of programmable smart contracts and DeFi, and also enables EVM assets to move back the other way. All of ApexFusion’s chains are already live on mainnet.

My conversation with the founder, Jerry Fragiskatos, was especially enlightening. With a strong background in the Web2 world, including years at Dell, he compares ApexFusion’s role to VMware: a unifying layer that works across all operating systems. In the same way, ApexFusion is designed to run interoperably across all of Web3, allowing development on any chain and bridging the fragmented blockchain landscape. The team believes this multi-chain approach will become the standard as other ecosystems follow suit.

Market Analysis:

Bitcoin 4h Chart: BTC Market rises slowly but surely.

Bitcoin has shown modest upward momentum since the last newsletter about a week and a half ago. The move began after the low-liquidity weekend dip below $89,000 triggered by concerns around the underperformance of the Japanese bond market. It is important to note that many stock market–related events and announcements tend to occur late on Friday afternoons or over the weekend when equities markets are closed. With Bitcoin becoming increasingly institutionalized, its correlation to equities has grown, which means negative news in traditional markets over the weekend now affects Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies more than ever.

Because equity markets close on weekends while crypto trades 24/7, only crypto prices can react during those periods. Liquidity and order books are also much thinner on weekends, making it easier for price manipulation or exaggerated volatility. For this reason, as crypto becomes more mainstream, it is wise to avoid making mid or long-term decisions based on weekend price action. Monday-through-Friday movement provides a clearer signal.

Bitcoin has continued rising within its ascending channel and recently pushed up to $93,000, showing continued bullish momentum with an uptick in the RSI. However, when comparing Ethereum to Bitcoin based on last week’s analysis, Bitcoin followed the modest trajectory we expected, while Ethereum followed the more aggressive bullish path and has continued to outperform in December.

Even so, Bitcoin appears positioned for a continued Santa Claus rally. It is currently sitting near the upper end of the ascending channel, which is a positive signal for Bitcoin and the broader crypto market. There may be some profit taking or loss harvesting before year-end, but that activity is more likely after December 23.

If Bitcoin continues to push higher, the next resistance range sits between $95,000 and $96,000, which could be reached within the next 7 to 10 days. Smart Money remains out for now, but a breakout above $96,000, or even a move toward $100,000, could bring it back in. It is also possible that Smart Money may wait until January 1 to take cleaner entries for the new tax year. We will see how that develops.

Ethereum 4h chart: Bullish over Bitcoin!

Ethereum is looking quite bullish at the moment, even more so than Bitcoin. Buyers are stepping in this week, and we are seeing bullish momentum across the short-term time frames. The 1-day chart has also shifted from bearish to neutral and appears to be moving toward a bullish setup.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is climbing on the lower time frames, showing increasing momentum. Although the EngineeringRobo dashboard still indicates that Smart Money is “out”, we are beginning to see early signs of accumulation. IncomeSharks announced he has re-entered a small Ethereum position after the OBV (On-Balance Volume) broke its previous structure. OBV can be seen on the chart in blue at approximately 11.55M.

Ethereum is currently positioned at the top of an ascending channel. It broke above resistance and is now retesting that level as support. With the upcoming rate cut, which is nearly confirmed at a minimum of 25 bps, some volatility is expected. ETH may follow the yellow path for a deeper retest, or it may continue along the green path toward the next resistance zone at $3,500 to $3,600.

Overall, Ethereum is showing more strength than Bitcoin, which is a positive signal for altcoins and the broader crypto market.

ETH/BTC: Will Ethereum Outperform Bitcoin in 2026?

Taking a quick look at the ETH/BTC chart, Ethereum has been climbing steadily since the bottom in April 2025 and has outperformed Bitcoin over that period. If Ethereum continues this momentum and makes another leg higher ahead of Bitcoin, I could anticipate it to retest the 0.042 level and potentially move toward 0.049 by mid-2026. This would represent roughly a 38 percent gain over Bitcoin in terms of ratio performance.

It is important to note that this does not indicate the percentage returns of Ethereum or Bitcoin individually. It simply reflects which of the two assets is expected to outperform the other based on their relative strength.

With momentum shifting toward Ethereum, supported by more ETH ETFs coming online, broader staking product availability, continued treasury accumulation from groups like Bitmine, and the approaching wave of financial tokenization, Ethereum appears positioned to outperform Bitcoin in 2026. At the very least, the ETH/BTC ratio looks likely to be higher during the first half of 2026.

In short, ETH/BTC is likely to move higher in 2026.

For long-term investors, 2025 has been an accumulation year, and institutional behavior reflects that. ETFs and major custodians have steadily increased their Bitcoin exposure, signaling strong conviction in the long-term trajectory. Market Analysis:

Bitcoin 3-Hour Chart: End-of-November Momentum Shift

Bitcoin opened November trading above $100,000, but a sharp pullback in global equities triggered an even stronger correction in crypto, dragging BTC down to a monthly low near $80,000. At the peak of the decline, Bitcoin’s Fear & Greed Index fell to 11, its lowest reading since the FTX collapse in 2022… signaling extreme fear and forced capitulation. By the final week of November, however, Bitcoin staged a notable recovery back above $90,000, with fear/greed sentiment improving to 28/100. Many traders were anticipating a strong Q4, and despite turbulence, the market still appears positioned for a potential December rally, supported by seasonal “Santa Rally” dynamics, continued equity strength, and the possibility of another Federal Reserve rate cut, historically bullish especially for hard assets like Bitcoin.

From a technical standpoint, shorter time frames on this 3-hour chart above show bullish momentum returning (AI Buy Signal), though Bitcoin has not yet flashed a renewed buy signal on the 1-day or 1-week time frames, with “smart money” still out of the trade. The RSI has normalized from oversold conditions following the mid-November dip and is now neutral, indicating room for momentum to rebuild. A moderate December beginning would likely see Bitcoin break above $93,000, with targets in the $95,000–$96,000 range by mid December. In a more aggressive scenario with renewed market fuel, BTC could retest $100,000 by mid-December and potentially close the year in the triple digits. A more conservative path would involve a brief revisit of $88,000–$89,000 before establishing firmer support near $93,000 and pushing toward $96,000–$97,000 to close out the year. Re-engagement from smart money on higher time frames would set the stage for Bitcoin to build toward new all-time highs in 2026.

Ethereum 3-Hour Chart: Short-Term Setup Into End of November

Ethereum is showing a very similar recovery pattern to Bitcoin’s. After dipping to around $2,600 during the third-week November sell-off, ETH has now climbed back to the key psychological level of $3,000, which is an ideal zone for building a new support floor. Like Bitcoin, however, the 1-day and 1-week signals are still not showing smart-money re-entry, meaning higher-timeframe investors remain cautious. Short-term resistance sits in the $3,200–$3,300 range; a clean breakout above this zone would likely flip the longer-term charts back to bullish… Potentially by the mid-December depending on market momentum. Encouragingly, the ETH/BTC ratio is holding support and looks ready to break upward, suggesting Ethereum may lead the market ahead of Bitcoin and open the door for stronger altcoin performance. Speaking of altcoins, let’s dive into them briefly below.

Altcoins: Holding Steady & Preparing for Rotation

Altcoins saw a pullback during the Bitcoin–Ethereum dip in mid-November, but notably, they did not crash as aggressively as they typically do during major market corrections. Part of this is because much of the altcoin market has already been bottomed out for most of 2025, leaving less downside pressure during this recent sell-off. A few standout narratives remain strong—most notably privacy, with Zcash ($ZEC) and ZK-focused projects continuing to gain traction. Traders are also watching the usual large-cap rotation candidates: Solana, Dogecoin, XRP, Chainlink, and Avalanche, all of which could benefit if Ethereum continues to strengthen against Bitcoin in early December. The introduction of ETFs now live and trading for Solana, XRP and DOGE is something to take note of, and Avalanche and Chainlink should follow in 2026. With the institutional backing behind these and ETF products in place, it’s hard to see these platforms going away anytime soon.

In this issue we break down the charts for BTC, ETH, and SOL to highlight their current strengths and weaknesses heading into September. Will the rally keep going, or will we see a dip before a potential Q4 frenzy?

Market Analysis:

Bitcoin $BTC (1D Chart w/ EngineeringRobo)

BTC is not looking great right now. It’s mainly been in a downtrend since the mid-July high of $123,000, despite briefly breaking its all-time high exactly one month later in August. Since then, sellers have taken back control and Bitcoin is now sitting right on the floor/support line of this descending channel. With September historically being a weak month, we may see more dips before any potential October–November rally kicks in.

The algorithms are showing Bitcoin as bearish across nearly all timeframes except the weekly, which adds more weight to the idea that September could be a red month. If BTC drops below support, the next big level is the 200-day moving average around $101K. That could open the door for sub-$100K entries — rare chances that don’t come often in this cycle. The real question is whether this dip will be a shakeout before the next leg up, or the start of something deeper.

Ethereum $ETH (1D Chart w/ EngineeringRobo)

ETH on the daily is looking stronger than BTC overall, but cracks are starting to show. While Bitcoin has dipped, ETH has managed to hold relatively firm, supported by narratives like Fundstrat’s Tom Lee continuing to stack ETH and manage the largest Ethereum treasury in the world. That kind of institutional backing has helped ETH trade with more strength compared to BTC.

Ethereum did briefly break its all-time highs this month, revisiting $4,850+ for the first time in four years, which is an incredible feat in itself. But the FOMO quickly turned ugly. Many traders, likely on leverage and expecting a clean breakout past $5,000, instead got slammed by a fat red candle, with over $800M in liquidations as ETH fell back toward $4,100. Since then, it has not regained the momentum of that mid-month rally and is currently sitting under the support of its ascending channel.

If Bitcoin takes another leg down in September, which historically tends to be a red month, ETH could get dragged down with it. For now, the one week and one day charts are still showing bullish signals, but those could flip fast if the broader market weakens. My mentors have stayed cautious, closing leveraged ETH positions around $4,600, and are waiting for a clear confirmation that the trend is heading back up before reloading.

Solana $SOL (1D Chart w/ EngineeringRobo)

Solana is looking like the strongest of the three majors right now compared to BTC and ETH, at least in the short term. The last week of August gave SOL a solid rally of about 18%, and it continues to climb within its ascending wedge. Unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are both sitting near the bottom of their support channels, SOL is sitting comfortably in the middle of its range.

Interestingly, the algorithms show Solana as bullish on the daily chart but only neutral on the weekly, while BTC and ETH both lean bullish on the weekly. The difference comes down to the huge buying pressure around ETFs and treasuries that is fueling BTC and ETH, pressure that will eventually spill over into Solana once those markets start to saturate.

The big question is whether SOL can continue its rally or if it will get dragged down if Bitcoin stumbles in September. History shows that when Bitcoin drops, everything else tends to follow, but it is often the assets that bounce back the hardest that present the best opportunities. Early September post Labor Day price action will be important to watch to see how SOL and ETH react compared to Bitcoin.

Fundamental Analysis/Interviews:

Preparing for Q-Day: Quantum-Resistant Blockchain Security

Firstly, I spoke with Krown Network, a quantum-resistant blockchain building secure wallets and infrastructure. The looming “Q-Day”, when quantum computers could break blockchain cryptography and centralized databases, may be closer than expected, potentially within 18 months. In this interview with Krown Network’s CEO James Stephens, we discuss post-quantum cryptography, whether quantum truly threatens blockchain, and how to safeguard assets and decentralized networks against future attacks, including the launch of their upcoming multi-asset quantum protected Qastle wallet and more.

Redefining Fundraising with Transparent, Onchain Capital Markets

Secondly this week, I spoke with Legion, a merit-based fundraising platform reshaping onchain capital markets. Recently raising a $5M round led by VanEck, Brevan Howard with additional investments from Coinbase Ventures, Kraken, and others, Legion’s mission is to give founders a credible way to raise money globally, while also letting everyday retail investors participate alongside top venture funds on equal terms. They’re even embodying this principle themselves, opening up a “community round” to invest in Legion at the same terms as VanEck and Coinbase Ventures.

When I last spoke to Legion last Christmas, they had just started. Now they have over 150,000 users contributing over $25M. It looks like they are only going up form here. Watch our interview to learn more and potentially participate in some of the fundraising rounds.

Lastly, we spoke with CoinTerminal Partner Patrick Carey, who is leading a new early-access launchpad taking a fresh approach to fundraising. Bitcoin 4H Analysis with EngineeringRobo Algorithms:

In the second half of July, Bitcoin entered a period of consolidation, which allowed Ethereum and altcoins to take the spotlight with notable upward moves. However, this sideways action misled many traders into expecting a breakout to the upside. Instead, the altcoin frenzy combined with excessive leverage across the market triggered a sharp downturn, leading to over $1 billion in liquidations across all major coins in recent days and a dip below $115,000.

Currently, Bitcoin is trading around $113.7K, hovering at the lower boundary of a descending channel. The technicals suggest a potential short-term bounce toward the $116K–$117K range, but with the weekend’s typically low volume, crazier volatility is expected. This is not an ideal environment for active trading unless you are strategically buying the dip for longer term. There’s still a high probability of a wick down to $112K, and possibly even testing $107-110K.

On the positive side, the RSI is oversold at 29, and the 1-day and 1-week charts remain bullish, signaling that the larger trend still favors movement up. The key resistance to watch is $120K. Bitcoin must break and hold above this level to establish a base for the next move toward $125K and eventually $130K. Smart money meter remains “IN”, holding strong positions while waiting for leveraged traders to be flushed out before pushing the price higher. They say the stock market transfers value from the impatient to the patient, and the same goes for crypto.

Ethereum 4H chart with EngineeringRobo Algorithms:

Ethereum has been even more volatile than Bitcoin throughout July and mostly in a good way. The asset surged to nearly $4,000 per ETH during the first half of the month, fueled by strong momentum and bullish sentiment. However, as signaled in the previous analysis, the RSI had climbed above 90, indicating extreme overbought conditions and suggesting that a cooldown was imminent.

Following multiple rejections in the $3,700 to $3,800 zone, Ethereum broke down and has now tested the $3,500 level, a target many professional traders were eyeing. According to IncomeSharks, Ethereum could still drop to around $3,400 and maintain its overall bullish structure, as this would align with key Fibonacci retracement levels and healthy market corrections.

Based on the chart, the current retracement could extend further, with the 0.618 Fibonacci level aligning with the low $3,300s as another potential support area, even if it’s just a whick. Similar to Bitcoin, Ethereum shows bearish signals on the short term timeframes but remains bullish on the daily and weekly charts. The RSI has cooled to 27, meaning oversold conditions, and smart money remains “IN”, reinforcing the fact that this bull run is not over.

Looking ahead, wether it’s in 2 weeks or a month, breaking and holding above $4,000 would be a major bullish trigger. I also see $4,200 and $4,600 as important milestones, IncomeSharks has a significant take profit level at $4,800 as seen in the chart below. There are no signs that this correction marks the end of the bull run, rather it appears to be a healthy pullback before a potential move higher.

Fundamentals: DEX’s, AI Marketing, And Tokenization.

Market Analysis:

$BTC: 1 hour chart with EngineeringRobo Algorithms.

Bitcoin is holding strong, consolidating between $118,000 and $120,000. This steady range has given room for Ethereum and other altcoins to move higher, as Bitcoin dominance has dropped notably over the past two weeks, an early sign of a widespread potential altseason. We are already seeing this with ETH, SOL, LINK, AVAX, DOGE, and some others.

Bitcoin remains bullish on all timeframes, though some altcoins are showing mixed signals. Currently, there isn’t significant volume to push BTC above $120,000 yet, but it continues to test that level. If it breaks through, the next major resistance is around $130,000. On the downside, if Bitcoin loses $118,000 support, a quick move back to $112,000 or even $110,000 is likely, given the thin buying support from the recent run-up.

With the stock market appearing toppy, traders may rotate into crypto for more favorable volatility, which could fuel further rallying into late July and August.

$ETH - 4 hour chart with EngineeringRobo algorithm

Ethereum is up 19.3% this week, printing 9 green daily candles in a row, a rare streak not seen in years. The chart remains bullish on most timeframes, especially the 1D, but shorter timeframes like the 3H are turning neutral, showing signs of consolidation and slowing down from its crazy rise this week.

Price is currently hovering around $3,740, just under the closest resistance level of $3,850. Smart traders on X have been warning about opening new longs at this level, citing the need for healthy pullbacks before further upside. 10 Bearish divergences have been confirmed, suggesting momentum may be cooling off at least temporarily. The RSI for Ethereum was above 90, which needs to be

If Ethereum breaks above $3,800, the next targets are $4,000 and $4,100. However, if bulls fail to hold this level, a flush to $3,500 could be necessary to reset leverage. The EngineeringRobo AI still shows strong multi-timeframe bullishness. Now is likely not the time to enter high-leverage positions, as much of the short-term move has already played out.

$SOL Solana 12H chart with EngineeringRobo Algorithm

Solana is showing impressive strength this week, up 25 percent and leading the altcoin rally. Unlike Ethereum, which has started to consolidate, SOL continues climbing with buy signals across all timeframes. The RSI is overbought but still below extreme levels seen in ETH, suggesting there may be room for more upside before a correction.

Momentum within the Solana ecosystem is building fast. BONK, one of the top SOL-based memecoins, is up 200 percent in the last 30 days, and trading activity is increasing across DeFi platforms like Raydium and Jupiter. Many traders on X are rotating into Solana-based plays as Ethereum cools off.

If Solana continues higher, the next resistance zones are at 220 and then the previous 2025 high near 300. If it loses momentum, a pullback to the 180 support area is likely, which would be a healthy reset before another potential leg up.
