Yet Chiron carried a wound that he could not heal himself.

Accidentally struck by one of Heracles’ poisoned arrows, he suffered a painful injury that would never fully heal. Although immortal, he could not escape the suffering it caused. Through this paradox, Chiron became a symbol of the places in our lives where pain becomes wisdom and where vulnerability becomes a source of compassion for others.

In the Mythic Tarot, the Hierophant is depicted as Chiron standing between the worlds of instinct and spirit, matter and meaning. His role is not simply to teach doctrine but to guide others toward deeper understanding through lived experience.

As Chiron enters Taurus, the Hierophant reminds us that true worth cannot be granted by society, wealth, status, or achievement. It emerges through the slow work of becoming grounded in who we are and what we value. The wound may point to where we feel least secure, but it can also reveal where our greatest wisdom is waiting to be discovered.

Why I Left Instagram (and What I Do Instead)

Over the past few months, I’ve been paying closer attention to where my energy goes.

Instagram helped me connect with wonderful people, and I’m grateful for the friendships and conversations that began there. But increasingly, I found myself spending time creating content for a platform that gave less and less back in return.

The problem wasn’t the people.

The problem was the environment.

Algorithms reward speed, volume, and visibility. The work I care about most tends to grow in slower soil.

Rather than trying to keep up with a system that constantly demands more, I decided to invest my energy elsewhere.

I’ve returned to what I love most: writing.

The Gemini New Moon arrives on 14-15 June (click the link for your Gemini New Moon Tarot spread) under one of the most unusual astrological configurations of the year.

At first glance, Gemini is the sign of curiosity, communication, learning, and connection. New Moons in Gemini often invite us to refresh our thinking, explore new possibilities, and become more open to fresh perspectives.

This one feels different.

The reason is Uranus.

Currently moving through Gemini, Uranus forms a precise square to the Nodal Axis, a configuration astrologers sometimes call “the bending of the Nodes.” The North Node in Pisces points towards our collective future, while the South Node in Virgo highlights habits, patterns, and systems that have outlived their usefulness. Uranus, the great awakener, presses against both.

The result is a sense of standing at a crossroads.

The usual pathways no longer feel quite right. Old certainties become unreliable. New possibilities appear unexpectedly. Choices made under this New Moon may carry greater significance than they initially seem to.

Adding another layer to the symbolism, Hekate currently sits on the Pisces North Node. As goddess of the crossroads, thresholds, and liminal spaces, her presence feels especially striking. This is not simply a New Moon about setting intentions. It is a New Moon about recognising which road is opening before you and which road has reached its natural end.

The Sabian Symbol for this lunation is “A man trimming palms.”

Rather than accumulating more, we are invited to remove what has become overgrown. Outdated beliefs. Draining commitments. Endless mental loops. Habits that once served a purpose but now block new growth.

Gemini often wants more information.

This New Moon suggests that clarity may come through subtraction. We are now in the Waning/Dark Moon phase so now is a good time for the clear-out to begin.

Mercury, ruler of the lunation, is in Cancer and in mutual reception with the Moon. Head and heart are in conversation. Logic alone is unlikely to provide the answers. Nor will pure emotion. The invitation is to allow wisdom to emerge from the dialogue between the two.

Underneath it all runs a larger question:

What are you ready to stop carrying?

Sometimes the most powerful new beginning begins with a conscious ending.

The Queen of the Crossroads

In the run-up to this New Moon, I felt a strong urge to embark on an extended fast. At the time, I didn’t know how significant asteroid Hekate was for this lunation, but I dedicated my fast to Her.

Over the course of these first four days of the fast, many of the themes I’ve been writing about recently are coming into sharper focus: loyalty, purpose, boundaries, truth, and the question of what remains when we stop distracting ourselves from what we already know.

One unexpected gift was the decision to reboot my Hekate Drakaina blog. For a long time, I felt caught between wanting to share some of my stranger experiences and presenting a more “polite” version of myself. The older I get, the less interested I am in that compromise. If Hekate has taught me anything, it is that thresholds require honesty. We cannot walk through a doorway while leaving parts of ourselves behind.

Then came the candle.

Yesterday, on day three of the fast, I lit a black candle to clear any lingering confusion. The wax left behind formed a clear pattern: one of Hekate's black dragons. It carried a message to trust what is unfolding.

So as this New Moon opens a new chapter, I find myself returning to Hekate’s dragons, the crossroads, and perhaps most importantly, to myself. The pruning theme of this lunation feels deeply personal. What remains after the dead wood is cut away is often the truest thing we have.

And if that means letting my freak flag fly a little higher than before, so be it.

Uranus is currently joined by Urania and Lilith, a combination that feels particularly supportive of those of us choosing authenticity over conformity.

We are currently moving through the second decan of Gemini (10°–20° Gemini). A decan is simply a ten-degree subdivision of a zodiac sign, adding another layer of symbolism and nuance to the astrological year.

In the Golden Dawn tradition, this decan is associated with Mars in Gemini and the Nine of Swords.

That may seem like an odd combination at first.

Through the Golden Dawn lens, Gemini wants to gather information while Mars wants to act.

Together, they create a mind that is quick, sharp, questioning, and difficult to switch off.

Decans and the Tarot

Many modern Tarot readers are familiar with the astrological correspondences found in the Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth traditions.

These correspondences largely come from the work of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the late nineteenth century. The Golden Dawn assigned zodiac signs, planets, and decans to the Minor Arcana, creating a symbolic framework that continues to influence Tarot practice today.

It is worth noting that astrologers use more than one system of decan rulers. The Golden Dawn followed the older Chaldean system, which assigns Mars to the second decan of Gemini. Other systems use different rulers and may arrive at different interpretations.

For Tarot, however, the important point is that the Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth traditions inherited these Golden Dawn correspondences. This is why the Nine of Swords is associated with Mars in Gemini.

The Nine of Swords was given the title “Lord of Despair and Cruelty.” Rather grim, and not a card most of us like to see in a Golden Dawn-based reading. (Personally, I trimmed the titles off my Thoth deck for this very reason.)

The Tarot de Marseille, however, predates these correspondences by centuries. It does not contain the same astrological structure and approaches the cards through what is visually present.

Comparing the two traditions side by side can be surprisingly revealing.

The Rider-Waite-Smith tells a story.

The Marseille shows the architecture.

The Nine of Swords: Two Visions

Rider-Waite-Smith

The Rider-Waite-Smith Nine of Swords is one of the most recognisable images in Tarot.

A figure sits upright in bed with their head in their hands. Nine swords hang overhead like a wall of intrusive thoughts.

Most readers associate the card with anxiety, worry, sleepless nights, regret, fear, and mental suffering.

The image is powerful because most of us have been there.

Lying awake at three in the morning.

Replaying conversations.

Imagining worst-case scenarios.

Trying to solve problems that cannot be solved before sunrise.

Tarot de Marseille

In the Tarot de Marseille, there is no distressed figure.

No bedroom.

No visible suffering.

Instead, we see nine swords arranged in a symmetrical pattern around a central blade.

The image is structured, balanced, and highly ordered.

The card speaks of multiplication rather than collapse.

Thought building upon thought.

Analysis generating more analysis until we become trapped in our own attempts to find certainty.

That is when the ninth sword creates the breakthrough by forcing us to surrender to uncertainty.

According to Marianne Costa, who co-authored The Way of Tarot with Alejandro Jodorowsky:

“Illumination arrives when we are no longer sure of anything.”

When I place these two cards side by side, I see the same landscape viewed from two different angles.

The Marseille card shows the structure.

The Rider-Waite-Smith card shows the lived experience.

Between Anxiety and Discernment

The second decan of Gemini can be a wonderful time for research, learning, writing, studying, teaching, and making connections between ideas.

It is a decan of intellectual movement.

The challenge is that movement can sometimes become momentum for its own sake.

One thought leads to another.

One possibility becomes ten.

A question becomes a theory.

A theory becomes a certainty. (Oh, how the ego clings to certainty!)

Before long, we are reacting not to reality itself but to a story we have constructed around it.

The modern world offers endless opportunities for this.

News cycles.

Doom scrolling.

Spiritual fear narratives.

Relationship assumptions.

Conspiracy theories.

Even artificial intelligence.

The problem is rarely information.

The problem is what happens after information enters the mind.

Discernment is not the absence of thought.

Discernment is the ability to observe thought without immediately believing every conclusion it produces.

Perhaps that is one of the hidden gifts of the Nine of Swords.

Not fear.

Not despair.

Awareness.

The realisation that thoughts are constantly being generated and that we are not required to treat every one of them as truth.

Working with Gemini II

As we continue through this decan, I have been reflecting on a few questions:

• Which stories am I treating as facts?

• What evidence actually supports my conclusions?

• What have I assumed rather than verified?

• Is my mind helping me perceive clearly, or simply generating possibilities?

The Nine of Swords reminds us that the mind is a remarkable tool.

But it remains a tool.

When we forget that distinction, the tool begins to use us.

To avoid being used by the tool, we turn to the two angels associated with Gemini II. Hariel helps us clear away anything that obscures the truth, while Hekamiah strengthens our commitment to it.

Together, they remind us that discernment is not simply about gathering information. It is about recognising what is worthy of our trust, attention, and loyalty.

I’ve always wanted to belong, but I’ve never wanted to fit in.

Perhaps my Aquarius Midheaven has something to do with that.

I love the idea of people coming together around a shared vision or common cause. A community of individuals moving in the same direction while retaining their own agency, sovereignty, and unique perspective. The older I get, the more convinced I become that true community should not require conformity.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way what can happen when we hand our sovereignty over to others. I’ve done it in group settings, most notably in church, and I’ve done it in close personal relationships. The cost of belonging is too high when it requires us to abandon ourselves.

These days, I have no problem being my weird and wonderful self. Reaching crone age brings a certain freedom. There comes a point where pretending becomes far more exhausting than authenticity. Yet finding a sense of belonging has, if anything, become more difficult.

Part of that is geographical. Living in a small English village means there are not exactly thriving communities devoted to Tarot, astrology, mythology, or the occult. But I suspect the challenge runs deeper than that.

The real difficulty is finding people who can stand fully in their own truth while allowing others to do the same.

Many communities begin with a shared vision and end with a conformity test. Spiritual groups, political movements, churches, online tribes—it hardly seems to matter. Sooner or later, the message becomes: “You can belong, but only if you think like us.”

Perhaps that’s why so many of us feel caught between worlds. We no longer wish to shrink ourselves to fit in, but we still long for meaningful connection.

Online communities can provide a kind of surrogate. Back in the blogging days, they often felt surprisingly real. Conversations unfolded over weeks and months. Friendships formed. People gathered around shared interests simply because they cared about them.

The internet feels different now. Much of it has become performative. Everyone is building a brand, growing an audience, chasing visibility, or trying to make a quick buck. Genuine communities still exist, particularly among those who have been othered by mainstream culture, but they can be harder to find.

And if we’re honest, more time online is not what most of us are longing for.

People need people.

Not followers or subscribers. Not engagement metrics.

People.

We need proximity. We need warmth. We need eye contact. We need to laugh around tables together. We need to hold each other, smell each other, exchange microbes, and know that our absence would be noticed.

Perhaps one of the great paradoxes of modern life is that we have never been more connected and never been more physically separate.

So this Gemini Season, I’ve been reflecting on belonging. Not fitting in. Not finding a tribe that agrees with me about everything.

Belonging.

The kind that allows us to seek inspiration, spitball ideas, and laugh together without having to conform to anyone else’s expectations.

I would like to have the courage to start a new community. I don’t.

The last time I tried, it went down in flames before it even got off the ground. I managed to gather a small group of spirituality enthusiasts in the nearest town, but my AuDHD got the better of me. Being responsible for a group was too much for my nervous system at the time.

Every time I find someone advertising meet-ups for people who share my interests, they charge an arm and a leg. Perhaps that’s fair. People deserve to be paid for their work. But I often come away with the feeling that they are looking for an audience rather than friends, clients rather than co-conspirators.

So what’s the solution? I wish I had answers. So far, I only have questions.

Perhaps that’s why this feels important enough to write about.

I suspect I’m not the only one looking for genuine community while refusing to surrender my individuality. I suspect I’m not the only one who longs for friendship, collaboration, conversation, and belonging without hierarchy or performance.

This much I know: something has to change. I’m not convinced we are designed to live this disconnected from one another.

And I can’t help wondering whether we’re all sitting at home, quietly hoping that someone else will have the courage to start the community we wish already existed.

In the run-up to Gemini season 2026, I decided to begin consciously working with the Greek Pantheon. I already had a weekly devotional rhythm in place where several of the deities I honoured belonged to that world, and gradually I felt myself being drawn deeper into it. I’ve been reading and researching the myths, reciting Homeric and Orphic hymns out loud, and immersing myself in the old stories. My husband and I even started reading the Iliad together. We are slowly making our way through Pope’s translation, and my AuDHD hyperlexic tongue is relishing the opportunity to “taste” the deliciousness of the language as I read it aloud.

My first deity crush was Persephone. I was eight years old, listening to a Swedish radio series about the Greek gods. I still remember sitting on the kitchen floor in my grandmother’s cottage in the north of Sweden, utterly spellbound as the stories carried me deep into the mysteries.

For many years, the idea of working with an entire pantheon felt daunting. It seemed to require a more dogmatic approach than the intuitive “cherry picking” I had gravitated toward in my own spiritual life. On the surface, the myths themselves often struck me as strangely childish compared to the monotheistic framework I adopted in my late teens. The gods appeared volatile, jealous, impulsive, deeply entangled in human drama. I struggled to reconcile that with the transcendent spiritual ideal I was seeking at the time.

Over the years, however, my understanding has gradually begun to shift. I’ve come to realise that there is no single way of approaching the gods or the old stories. Some people approach them through careful reconstruction of ancient religious practice. Others through revivalist devotion, psychological inquiry, archetypal work, or ceremonial and magical traditions. Some experience the gods as autonomous intelligences; others as profound symbolic realities woven through psyche, nature, culture, and cosmos. Most, I suspect, live somewhere in between.

Rather than trying to force myself into one rigid framework, I’ve slowly been allowing my own relationship with the mysteries to unfold more organically. The deeper I go, the less interested I become in defending a fixed metaphysical position, and the more interested I become in participation, attention, reverence, and relationship.

One of the things that has surprised me most is the sense of wholeness that emerges when working within a pantheon rather than relating only to isolated deities. The gods begin to reveal themselves not merely as separate figures, but as part of a living web of relationships, tensions, harmonies, and complementary forces. Hermes feels different when understood alongside Apollo. Persephone changes when seen through Demeter. Athena becomes more complete beside Hephaestus, Zeus, or Hera. Even apparent contradictions begin to form part of a larger symbolic ecology.

There is something profoundly connective about it. The myths are no longer flattened into moral tales or literal events, but become mirrors of consciousness, nature, psyche, culture, family, power, love, grief, conflict, creativity, and transformation. The pantheon becomes less like a collection of disconnected gods and more like an attempt to map the fullness of reality itself.

Hermes

Yesterday, on the fourth day of the lunar month according to the ancient Athenian calendar, I honoured Hermes according to this tradition for the first time. I started my day by reciting hymn 4 from the Homeric Hymns, the hymn to Hermes. It felt strangely natural, as though I was not so much beginning a new relationship as finally recognising one that had been quietly present all along.

The more I reflected on Hermes, the more I realised how deeply his current already runs through the work I do. Hermes is a god of language, interpretation, transmission, crossroads, symbols, trade, wit, travel between worlds, and the movement of meaning itself. He governs thresholds and connections. He carries messages between realms that do not always easily understand one another.

In many ways, that is precisely the space I have occupied for years as a metaphysical writer and blogger. Much of my work has involved translating symbolic systems into living language, weaving together Tarot, astrology, mythology, psychology, mysticism, and everyday experience in ways that help people orient themselves more meaningfully within their own lives.

Hermes is also deeply connected with pattern recognition, ambiguity, double meanings, and the fluid intelligence required to navigate liminal spaces. As someone with an AuDHD mind that naturally forms connections across seemingly unrelated systems, I can see now why his presence feels so familiar to me.

What struck me most strongly yesterday, however, was the realisation that Hermes is not merely a “messenger god” in the simplified modern sense. He is a mediator between worlds. He governs movement between the conscious and unconscious, mortal and divine, and the known and unknown. He presides over interpretation itself.

Perhaps that is why Gemini season feels like such an appropriate threshold for this deeper exploration. We are entering a Mercurial current collectively: a season of language, multiplicity, information, curiosity, contradiction, perception, and mental movement. The question, however, is whether we are using this current consciously… or simply being carried along by noise.

Gemini Season Tarot Reading

Doing a Gemini season reading for the collective, I first pulled the 2 of Swords from the Mythic Tarot (sponsored link). In this deck, the card portrays Orestes caught between his mother, Clytemnestra, and his father, Agamemnon. His eyes are closed, and his hands cover his ears, reflecting a state of paralysis in the face of irreconcilable tensions.

This feels especially relevant with both Mercury and Uranus now in Gemini. The collective mental field feels increasingly charged: information overload, competing narratives, ideological polarisation, and nervous system exhaustion. Gemini seeks perspective and movement, but Uranus destabilises fixed certainty and accelerates fragmentation.

The 2 of Swords speaks to the temptation to shut out complexity when reality becomes too uncomfortable or contradictory to process. Yet Orestes reminds us that avoiding the conflict does not make it disappear. Something beneath the surface is already shifting.

Rather than reacting impulsively, the Mythic Tarot 2 of Swords suggests the need for conscious observation. Gemini season may ask us to tolerate uncertainty long enough for deeper clarity to emerge.

The Tarot de Marseille cards reveal the energetic movement unfolding beneath the paralysis of the 2 of Swords.

The 2 of Batons shows tension contained rather than resolved. Two opposing forces cross in a stable structure, suggesting that Gemini season may initially feel mentally noisy, divided, or overstimulating without completely descending into chaos. Something is still holding.

The 3 of Batons shifts the dynamic by introducing a central axis. The scattered tension of the Two begins organising itself around a clearer direction. The challenge is to sort the central themes and lessons of the discourse from the chatter.

For many of us, that may mean becoming more intentional about where attention goes. What conversations are genuinely illuminating? What media diets are dysregulating the nervous system? What ideas create clarity rather than fragmentation?

The 7 of Coins slows the pace considerably. After the mental acceleration of the Batons, this card asks what is actually worth cultivating over time. Not every spark deserves fuel. Not every opinion requires engagement.

Taken together, these cards suggest that Gemini season is not asking us to eliminate contradictions or arrive at instant certainty. It is asking us to become more discerning about where we place our attention.

The Dark Moon before the New Moon in Taurus arrives like the pause after a deep sigh when everything suddenly feels like too much.

And that’s okay. There is no rush. Let’s sit with that pause for a while and contemplate what the Taurus New Moon can bring us.

This lunation reminds us that growth sometimes begins by returning to the body, the senses, the home, the garden, the altar, the meal, the breath, or the simple rhythm of daily life.

Modern spirituality often pushes us toward extremes. Everything becomes either purely psychological or entirely supernatural. A New Moon is described either as a symbolic reset point within the psyche or as a magical portal through which we can “manifest” reality.

Personally, I have never found those perspectives mutually exclusive.

The symbolic and the sacred have always spoken to one another.

Ancient spirituality rarely divided psychology, ritual, philosophy, embodiment, healing, and relationship with the divine into neat categories. Prayer shaped consciousness. Ritual grounded intention into physical reality. Myth carried emotional, spiritual, and initiatory truths simultaneously.

The same is true in deity work on the Middle Path I’m on.

Some people experience the gods primarily as archetypal intelligences moving through the psyche. Others encounter them as living presences through prayer, dreams, offerings, synchronicity, divination, or devotional practice. Many of us gradually find ourselves somewhere between those experiences.

And perhaps that tension is not a problem to solve.

Perhaps it is part of the mystery itself…

This Taurus New Moon feels especially supportive for grounding spiritual practice into lived reality. Not endless over-analysis. Not chasing transcendence while neglecting the body and nervous system.

Instead, this lunation invites us back into relationship with what genuinely nourishes life.

That may look like:

• tending your home

• simplifying your routines

• rebuilding self-worth

• creating sustainable abundance

• reconnecting with nature

• honouring ancestral wisdom

• resting properly

• cooking nourishing food

• building devotional practices that feel embodied rather than abstract

Taurus teaches that sacredness often enters quietly through ordinary moments.

For those who work devotionally with the gods, this Moon carries beautiful resonance with Aphrodite, Demeter, Gaia, Hestia, and Zeus Meilichios in particular. Themes of beauty, rootedness, reciprocity, nourishment, ancestral blessing, fertility, and sacred embodiment all feel amplified now.

I was 15 when the Tarot found me—and didn’t let go.

It came in the most unremarkable way—as a cardboard cutout of the Rider–Waite–Smith Tarot Major Arcana in a magazine. Flimsy, easily torn, the kind of thing most people would throw away.

I didn’t.

Something about those images held my attention. I kept turning them over in my mind without knowing why.

Soon after, I read for a friend. I had no system, no training. I laid the cards out and said what I saw. The message that came through pointed to an abusive situation she hadn’t told anyone about.

That moment landed hard.

It showed me that the cards operate on a level most people avoid. They go straight to what is actually happening, underneath the surface story.

That’s what kept me with the Tarot.

Over time, it became clear that the cards don’t exist to entertain or reassure. They sharpen perception. They bring things into focus that the mind would rather sidestep.

There’s a reason authority structures have always taken issue with practices like this. When you can look directly at your own life and recognise what’s going on, you don’t need anyone to interpret it for you. You become difficult to manipulate through fear.

Most people come to the Tarot while still focused on other people and outcomes.

Will they come back?

What do they think?

How can I make this work?

Those questions are real enough. But they keep attention fixed outside the self.

The cards tend to redirect that attention for those who pluck up the courage to contemplate their deeper meanings.

They bring it back to what you’re doing, how you’re reading the situation, where you’re giving your power away, where you’re holding it.

The imagery speaks in the language of the soul. It shows patterns, pressure points, and turning points. It reveals where life-force energy is stuck and where it can move.

The shift happens when the questions change.

Instead of trying to control the situation, you start trying to see it.

These are the kinds of questions I use for daily readings:

• What do I need to see clearly today?

• Where am I misreading this situation?

• What pattern is playing out here?

• What am I avoiding?

• Where is action needed?

• Where would stepping back serve me better?

• What is the simplest step I can take that aligns with what I know?

Another way in is even more direct:

Where do I need to place my attention right now?

When I received my review copy of The Witch’s Name: Crafting Identities of Magical Power by Storm Faerywolf (published by Crossed Crow Books), I already had a working name in progress. But something about it wasn’t sitting right. In other words, this book couldn’t have reached me at a more opportune time.

With today being a Cross Quarter Holy Day in the Wheel of the Year, as well as a Full Moon, we find ourselves in one of those rare portal moments where stepping into a new Magic(k)al identity feels extra powerful. So I’m glad I was able to work my way through some of the key exercises in the book that helped me nail down my name just in time. Not that there is any rush, but I was already in the ‘birth canal’, so to speak.

Faerywolf’s book is so much more than a guide to taking a new name. It’s given me plenty of food for thought around identity that I’ll be chewing on for a while. What it confirmed for me is that it’s perfectly all right to have more than one Craft name—and that names can change as we grow and evolve.

Back in 2023, I wrote an article about taking a Magic(k)al name. At the time, I needed something that reflected my own journey of healing from religious trauma. After about a year, I had already outgrown that name and returned to using my legal name.

The reason I felt the pull to take a new Craft name at this point is that I’m now in a space where I want a name that resonates with devotion to the Goddess. I also want something I can grow into within the context of community—something that holds that thread of sisterhood.

For my service to Mother, I leaned into not one but two Goddess names: Tanit and Iris. In the book, there are many names of deities listed. Tanit (spelt Tanith there) was one of them, and I felt instantly drawn to it.

Faerywolf also lists animals and plants that are popular within witchcraft communities. While Iris appears in the list of deities, it also happens to be my favourite flower, as well as the messenger Goddess—perfect for the work I do.

I used numerology to ensure that the vibration of my name would be 6, and chose LeFay as the final piece. This name ticks so many boxes for me, and without encountering it in the book, I may not have landed on the ‘family name’ that makes me smile the most.

In the book, Faerywolf explores a range of divinatory tools for discovering your witch’s name, including astrology, numerology, Tarot (with a full spread included), and dream interpretation.

Hands down, for me, the most useful aspect was the set of Feri tradition-inspired rituals designed to align the three souls. I worked through all four of those exercises and will continue using the alignment meditation daily to stay centred.

So yes, this is far more than a book about finding the “perfect” witch’s name. It’s a map towards a more confident and aligned expression of self—and for that, I’m deeply grateful to both the author and Crossed Crow Books.

The signal is changing, and it’s all about the mind—the Higher Mind, to be more precise.

Uranus moves into Gemini tomorrow and will remain there until 22 May 2033.

This shifts the entire landscape of how we think, speak, and exchange information.

Oddball Uranus (the only planet to revolve around the Sun on its side) hasn’t been in Gemini in 84 years. The last time, we saw the rise of broadcast media, early computing, and a complete overhaul of how information moved through society.

But we’ve already had a preview.

Between July and November 2025, Uranus dipped into Gemini and gave us a glimpse of what this cycle is about. It was brief, but it was enough to register.

If you think back to that period, there was a noticeable shift.

Things sped up.

The upcoming New Moon in Aries next week is one of those moments. It brings a total power reboot.

Fittingly, the Golden Dawn Tarot correspondence for Aries is The Emperor.

We have a massive Aries stellium around this lunation, and the invitation is unmistakable: step back into your own authority. It’s definitely worth checking which House this falls in for you. For me, it’s in the 10th House, and I’m already feeling the urge to share more of my truth, even with Neptune sitting on my Chiron at 2 degrees of Aries.

The Equinox brings us to a perfect point of balance today.

Light and dark meet without cancelling each other.

And it is here, in this still point, that a question rises for me:

What if Christ Consciousness was never meant to sever us from our inner fire… but to sanctify it?

What if the very force that has been feared, suppressed, and demonised — the dragon — is not the enemy of the Divine, but part of its design?

The Line Everyone Misquotes

In the Gospel of John, Yeshua says:

“Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?”

He is quoting Psalm 82 — not offering a casual mystical slogan.

On the surface, it is a defence against accusations of blasphemy.

But beneath that, something far more destabilising is happening.

He is pointing to a truth that institutional religion has spent centuries trying to contain:

The human being is not designed for separation from the divine — but for participation in it. The human being is not designed for separation from the divine — but for participation in it. We don’t need intermediaries to tell us how to live. The work is to embody the Divine from the inside out.

This is what later theology calls theosis — becoming a conscious participant in divine life.

So the real question is not whether we are “gods.” We are both human and divine.

The real question is:

What must be transformed for theosis to happen?

The Serpent in the Teaching of Christ

Here is where things start to unravel — beautifully.

Because Christ does something deeply inconvenient for rigid theology.

He says:

“Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”

And elsewhere, he aligns himself with the serpent lifted in the wilderness — a symbol of healing and elevation.

This is not anti-serpent teaching.

Yeshua clearly understands that wisdom has a serpentine nature — instinctive, embodied, alive.

The problem was never the serpent.

The problem was what happens when that current is distorted, suppressed, or severed from love.

And that brings us to the dragon.

The Dragon Current and Why It Was Feared

In later Christian symbolism, dragons become enemies to be slain.

But symbols do not become villains without reason.

The dragon is not just a creature. It is a current.

It is the raw creative force that rises from the depths of life itself:

Desire
Instinct
Creative power
Sovereignty
Transformation
Fire

And here is the deeper cosmology:

All dragons emerge from the Womb of Creation.

The angels emerge from the Light of the Father — radiant, ordered, directional.
The dragons emerge from the Womb of the Mother — generative, cyclical, embodied, primordial.

Two expressions. One Source.

But systems built on control cannot tolerate what they cannot contain.

Light can be structured.
Hierarchy can be organised.
Transcendence can be managed.

But creative life-force cannot be fully controlled.

So it is recast as dangerous (knowledge of good and evil, which is necessary for wielding the life-force).
Then sinful (Eve).
Then demonic (Lilith).

The Inner Dragon

Now bring this into the body.

The dragon is not “out there.”

It is within you.

It is the part of you that feels deeply and refuses numbness.
The part that knows before logic catches up.
The part that creates, desires, burns, grieves, and transforms.

When suppressed, this current becomes distortion.
When honoured, it becomes a living intelligence.

It is the fire behind intuition.
The force behind creation.
The pulse behind transformation.

And every true spiritual path — whether it names it or not — eventually encounters this current.

Christ Consciousness Revisited

Now return to Christ.

What if his teachings were never about rejecting the body, instinct, or inner fire — but about aligning that fire with divine love?

The serpent is lifted.
The human becomes godlike.
The inner life is not denied — it is transformed.

Seen this way:

Christ Consciousness does not destroy the dragon.

It teaches us how to raise it.

How to unite power with compassion.
Instinct with wisdom.
Fire with love.

This is the deeper alchemy of theosis.

Mary Magdalene and the Missing Thread

Mary Magdalene stands at the threshold of this forgotten current.

Not as the redeemed prostitute of later tradition,
but as the apostle of the apostles — the first witness, the bearer of knowing.

In early streams of the tradition, she represents:

Embodied wisdom
Direct knowing
Spiritual authority that does not depend on hierarchy

She is not separate from Christ’s teaching.

She is part of how it was lived and transmitted.

And what she carries is not disembodied transcendence, but integration.

A spirituality that does not reject the body.
A knowing that does not fear depth.
A love that does not require the suppression of feminine power.

The Equinox Invitation

Here, at the balance point, the invitation is simple, but not easy.

It’s not about choosing light over dark, or about rejecting one current for another.

But to integrate.

The Light of the Father illuminates.
The Womb of the Mother generates.
And within you, both are alive.

Your task is not to kill the dragon.
Nor to surrender blindly to it.

Your task is to:

Know it
Refine it
Raise it

So that it becomes a vessel for divine life.

This is what “you are gods” really asks of us.

Not inflation.

Responsibility.

Because once you recognise the fire within you,
you can no longer pretend you are powerless.

And perhaps that is why this teaching became buried in misinterpretation.

Not because it was false.

But because it was too liberating.

A Simple Equinox Ritual: Meeting Your Inner Dragon

This is a gentle Equinox practice for balance and reclaiming your power.

Find a quiet space and sit comfortably.

Close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath.

Let it deepen naturally.

Now bring your attention to your lower abdomen — the creative centre, the womb-space (regardless of gender).

Imagine a subtle warmth there.

The New Moon in Pisces arrives on 18–19 March 2026, depending on where in the world you live. In the UK, it peaks in the early hours of the 19th at 28° Pisces, the final stretch of the zodiac before the Sun crosses into Aries at the Spring Equinox on 20 March.

This makes the lunation a true threshold moment.

Pisces represents the end of the cycle — dissolution, forgiveness, dream states, and the vast ocean of the collective psyche. Aries marks ignition: the spark of new life and the beginning of the zodiacal year.

We are standing with one foot in each world.

Adding to the symbolism, today is the second Friday the 13th in a row, following the one that fell on 13 February. The number 13 has long been associated with the Dark Goddess, Lilith, and the sacred feminine mysteries that existed before patriarchal calendars reshaped timekeeping. Thirteen lunar cycles make a full year of Moons, and in many traditions, the number was once considered sacred rather than ominous.

So it feels fitting that this threshold New Moon carries strong Lilith energy.

It is a moment for confronting what has been hidden, reclaiming what has been suppressed, and crossing into a new cycle with deeper authenticity.

The Mars–Jupiter Trine: Momentum for Transformation

One of the most supportive aspects active during this lunation is the trine between Mars in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer.

Mars in Pisces does not push forward with brute force. Instead, it moves through intuition, compassion, and imagination. Jupiter in Cancer amplifies emotional wisdom, ancestral memory, and the instinct to protect what truly matters.

When these two planets connect harmoniously, inspiration gains momentum. Compassion becomes strength. What begins as a quiet inner knowing can suddenly gather the energy needed to become action.

At the same time, Mercury is retrograde in Pisces, inviting us to revisit dreams, memories, and unfinished emotional narratives.

Rather than rushing forward, the cosmos is encouraging us to retrieve something important from the past before the new zodiac year begins. Sometimes that retrieval comes through reflection, dreams, or surprising moments of clarity.

For me personally, the past month has been filled with unmistakable signs pointing toward one archetype in particular.

Lilith Everywhere

The pattern began on Friday, the 13th of February, when a sudden medical emergency in my family forced me to call an ambulance for the first time in my life. It was a moment that shattered the illusion of control and brought me face-to-face with how fragile life can be.

Since that day, the symbol of Lilith has appeared everywhere in my life.

Books falling open to her stories. Conversations about feminine power. Dreams that carried her unmistakable signature of fierce autonomy and uncompromising truth.

My natal chart soon revealed why.

Jupiter Awakens My Lilith

Just days ago, Jupiter stationed direct in Cancer at 15°, almost exactly on top of two powerful points in my natal chart: my True Black Moon Lilith and Waldemath Lilith, both in my first house.

The first house is where identity lives. It describes how we step into the world and how we claim our right to exist as we are.

Jupiter expands whatever it touches. When it meets Lilith, the result is often a dramatic shift toward speaking truths that once felt taboo.

Over the past month, I have watched nearly every close dynamic in my life rearrange itself. Old patterns dissolved. Certain relationships shifted dramatically. Boundaries that once felt difficult suddenly became obvious and necessary.

More than anything, I feel a profound sense of freedom.

At 56, this transit also feels like an initiation into what I call sacred cronehood — not withdrawal from life, but a deeper authority rooted in lived experience. The kind of authority that no longer asks permission to speak.

And perhaps unsurprisingly, my altar is changing to reflect this phase.

Lilith and Baphomet on the Altar

At the centre of the altar I am creating now stand two archetypes that many people misunderstand: Lilith and Baphomet.

Lilith represents the fierce independence of the feminine soul. She refuses submission when submission would require the sacrifice of truth.

Baphomet represents the reconciliation of opposites — instinct and spirit, shadow and illumination, feminine and masculine energies brought into equilibrium.

Together, they form a powerful threshold pair.

• Lilith cracks open what has been suppressed.

• Baphomet teaches us how to integrate what emerges.

Working with both energies allows shadow work to become not just confrontation, but transformation.

Simple Practices for Working with Lilith and Baphomet

Practice 1 — The Mirror of Truth

Sit quietly with a candle and write down one truth about your life that you have been reluctant to acknowledge. It may be a boundary you need to set, a pattern you are ready to release, or a truth about your desires that once felt forbidden. Lilith energy helps reveal what the psyche has been avoiding. Once written, read the statement aloud and notice what emotions arise. The goal is not judgment but clarity.

Practice 2 — The Alchemical Breath

Baphomet is often depicted with one hand raised and one lowered, symbolising the flow between heaven and earth. To work with this energy, sit comfortably and imagine breathing in light through the crown of the head and breathing out tension through the feet into the earth. With each breath, imagine opposites within you gradually finding balance: anger and compassion, fear and courage, instinct and wisdom.

Practice 3 — The Threshold Question

Ask yourself a single question: “What part of my power am I ready to reclaim as Aries season begins?” Write the answer without censoring yourself. Then choose one small action that honours that truth in the coming weeks. Threshold moments become meaningful only when insight turns into embodiment.

On Thursday morning, I boarded a train to Glasgow with my Feminist Rage playlist queued up as “chill music.”

Sometimes, when life threatens to get unbearably mundane, Spirit sends us a shake-up — or, as I like to call them, a mini-reawakening.

Spirit must have known I needed one.

When Kundalini starts rising, and creativity is unleashed, things can feel pretty great for a while… until we hit the rage stage.

And I had hit that stage hard.

It came after realising that I was on the countdown to post-menopause. Suddenly, I was no longer okay with a long list of things I had let slide for ages. One of those things was that I still hadn’t managed to get a driving licence at 56.

So, on the morning before boarding that train, I signed up for a driving theory test in August and downloaded a practice app.

There were many other things on that list — most too private to air in a public newsletter.

Sitting on the train for a few hours gave me the dubious luxury of mulling that list over in my head while the music played. I was really getting going with the unprocessed rage.

I could tell when a red face stared back at me in the train WC.

“Okay, Lisa, take a few deep breaths,” I told myself. “You don’t want to die of a heart attack before you’re even guaranteed post-menopausal.”

The First God

Within a minute of having those thoughts, my sister rang from Sweden.

We spoke for a while about my trip to see my middle child in Glasgow — they manage media projects there — and she told me how her daughters are doing. Then she shared an amazing story about an answered prayer.

She had her eye on a place of business she needed access to quite quickly because of changes within her company. So she said a brief prayer to Spirit and handed all her worries over.

Then she decided to go for a walk.

Only minutes later, she found herself face-to-face with the property manager of the very place she needed access to. They all but signed the agreement then and there.

“Damn, girl, I need to pray more!” I told her.

Gods at the Table

After a lovely visit with my trans middle child (they/them) in Glasgow, I found myself on the train from Edinburgh to Darlington the next day.

I had booked a seat at a table. When I arrived, an elderly couple were already sitting there. They smiled and nodded as I took my seat, and I immediately felt a warm sensation in my chest.

I had brought my newly acquired oversized Visconti-Sforza deck with me to get better acquainted with it, so I spent some time quietly shuffling and looking through the cards while the couple opposite — who looked to be in their early seventies — read their newspapers.

Not long after I put the deck away, the lady — whose first name began with E — leaned over and asked if I wanted to borrow one of the papers.

When I politely declined, she asked, in a soft Edinburgh accent, “Are you interested in the Tarot, then?”

“You could say that,” I laughed.

What followed was a lively conversation that lasted until I stepped off the train at Darlington.

They were travelling to London to visit a daughter and their grandchildren.

“Oh, I have a daughter in London too,” I said.

That was not the only thing we had in common. In fact, the list of shared threads grew longer the more we spoke.

She was a natural medium from a bloodline of seers, and he was an energy healer.

His first name began with L.

E and L.

El.

God.

The thought passed through my mind as a quiet sense of destiny settled over the moment.

He told me the story of how he discovered his healing gift. While they were on holiday in Corfu, a woman walked up to him in a restaurant and said, “Did you know you’re a healer?”

He had no idea what to say.

After returning home to Scotland, he stood in front of his bathroom mirror and asked his healing team to step forward. (I chose not to ask about the bathroom mirror.)

Apparently, the force of their energy nearly knocked him over.

I didn’t doubt him for a second.

First, there was the energy I felt when I sat down. Then there were his eyes — bright blue, ancient somehow, yet younger than his years.

At one point they told me they were both eighty years old.

“You’re clearly benefitting from the strong flow of healing energy,” I said.

They nodded and smiled.

E had beautiful eyes too — a golden hazel brown — and a deep curiosity about my work. It came as no surprise to discover she was a Gemini and her husband a Sagittarius.

When my stop finally arrived, I felt genuinely sad to leave them.

It felt as if I had met a pair of guardian angels.

Or perhaps the God and Goddess themselves, travelling incognito.

All I know is that I no longer feel the need to listen to rage music.

Spirit looks after its own.

Always.

I suspect I’m not the only one who has met a god or two on public transport.

February is traditionally the month of love, and this year Valentine’s Day arrived just three days before a New Moon solar eclipse — a pairing that feels symbolically potent. Romantic narratives are at their loudest at this time of year, while something quieter and more consequential is unfolding beneath the surface. The eclipse felt, to me, like a threshold moment — almost like the felt sense of the Age of Aquarius beginning. Some argue that this age is still centuries away. Be that as it may, too many of us are already attuning to these energies here and now for the shift to be merely theoretical.

Something is changing now.

As we move into this new era, relationships are being reconfigured. Old scripts are failing. Familiar dynamics feel strained or obsolete. The question isn’t whether things are changing — it’s how.

Are we evolving towards higher-consciousness co-creation?
Or are we collapsing into blame, polarity, and trauma bonding dressed up as spirituality?

This feels like the right moment to take a fresh, clear-eyed look at the idea of Twin Flames — what it points to, what it’s been distorted into, and how it might actually function in an Aquarian world.

There’s a reason the Twin Flame idea keeps resurfacing, even after being over-simplified, romanticised, and tangled up with projection and unmet longing. At its core, it isn’t a fantasy — but neither is it what most people have been taught to believe.

The Age of Aquarius doesn’t discard sacred union. It refines it.

And that refinement asks us to look honestly at three things we’ve often been encouraged to avoid:

• why many Twin Flame connections do not become relationships

• how recognition can exist without attachment

• and how to tell true resonance from unconscious repetition

Let’s begin at the root.

You Are Not Incomplete

This is the great Aquarian reset.

The idea that another person completes you belongs to an earlier stage of human consciousness. It arose in an era shaped by hierarchy, survival bonding, and imbalance between masculine and feminine principles.

That era taught us to seek externally what had been split internally.

In this field, we are no longer halves searching for reunion. We are already whole — containing polarity within ourselves: will and receptivity, structure and flow, clarity and compassion.

Sacred union does not occur because something is missing.
It occurs because something is integrated.

This is why Twin Flame recognition can feel instantaneous and overwhelming — not because the other person is “the missing piece”, but because they mirror a level of inner coherence you already carry.

Why Many Twin Flame Connections Don’t Become Relationships

This is where much confusion — and suffering — enters the picture.

Recognition does not automatically imply a shared life, a romantic partnership, or physical union. In the Aquarian age, recognition often precedes embodiment rather than guaranteeing it.

Why?

Because Twin Flame union is not about personal fulfilment.
It is about generation.

When two integrated fields meet, something third becomes possible: a creative current, a body of work, a frequency, a teaching, a new way of perceiving reality. Sometimes that creation requires shared embodiment. Sometimes it does not.

When a relationship is forced after the creative function has already been fulfilled — or where it was never meant to be fulfilled through romance — the connection tends to collapse into frustration, longing, or power struggle. That collapse is not failure. It is information.

The Aquarian field does not reward endurance for its own sake. It responds to conscious alignment, consent, and timing.

Many people encounter the Twin Flame idea through recognisable experiences — intensity, mirroring, familiarity, and the catalytic effect a connection can have on one’s inner life. But beyond recognition, there is also the question of readiness. I’ve written elsewhere about the signs that indicate a connection has moved beyond projection and into a capacity for divine co-creation — not as a promise of relationship, but as a measure of whether two fields can serve something larger than themselves.

What feels different now, in the Aquarian field, is not that recognition has lost its meaning, but that it is no longer enough on its own. Recognition opens the door; it does not determine what follows. What matters is how that recognition is held — whether it supports conscious, higher-order creation, or whether it pulls us back into longing, fixation, and unresolved attachment.

Recognition Without Attachment

This may be the most important teaching of all.

Recognition is real.
Attachment is optional.

In earlier ages, recognition was almost always followed by some kind of binding contract — emotional, social, or spiritual — because survival demanded it. In this age, recognition can stand on its own. It no longer has to collapse into possession, pursuit, or waiting.

You can recognise someone as profoundly significant without needing to build your life around the connection.

This does not make the connection less sacred.

Recognition without attachment allows:

• gratitude without grasping

• love without collapse

• devotion without self-erasure

It also prevents the spiritual bypass where suffering is reframed as destiny.

Pain is not proof of depth.
Waiting is not proof of worth.

Resonance vs Repetition

Here’s a practical distinction that can save years of confusion.

Resonance feels expansive, even when intense.
Repetition feels compulsive and cloying, even when familiar.

Resonance:

• supports clarity

• strengthens sovereignty

• inspires creation

• does not require self-betrayal

Repetition:

• loops unresolved patterns

• triggers abandonment or pursuit dynamics

• feels urgent rather than true

• diminishes presence over time

Many connections labelled “Twin Flames” are actually repetitions of early attachment wounds dressed in spiritual language.

True resonance does not demand that you shrink, suffer, or suspend your life.

It meets you where you are whole.

The Sacred Feminine Is Not Rising to Replace the Masculine

One final recalibration.

The return of balance we’re witnessing is not about reversal, domination, or blame. It is about restoring a rhythm that was interrupted for millennia.

The Sacred Feminine was suppressed — not destroyed.
And the Sacred Masculine was distorted alongside her.

What is rising now is not a gendered power shift, but a reunification of principles within consciousness itself.

This remembering is happening quietly, cellularly, through insight and downloads rather than instruction. And it is happening because the conditions are finally right.

Nothing has been wasted.
Not even the millennia of imbalance.

What Twin Flame Union Means Now

In the Age of Aquarius, Twin Flame union is not a promise of romance.

It is an invitation to coherence.

It asks:

• Can you meet another without disappearing?

Working intensively with the Tarot de Marseille since the start of 2026 has steadily shifted my lens of perception toward the importance of attention — not only in Tarot readings, but in any form of spellcasting. At its most fundamental level, magic begins with attention.

Not attention as effort or control, but attention as orientation — the ability to notice what is moving us, and from where.

This is the heart of what I mean by Conscious Craft.

Long before I had language for it, I was already using the Tarot this way: not to predict outcomes, but to understand the quality of consciousness behind an action I was considering. The cards then act more as a mirror than an authority.

Conscious Craft is not about doing magic “correctly”. It is about recognising that every act of magic — whether ritual, prayer, spell, or intention — proceeds from a particular level of self.

The most important question is not will it work?
It is: What am I actually doing here — and from which level of self?

Tarot as Conscious Craft

When the Tarot is used consciously, it reveals our current developmental phase.

A card does not tell us what will happen. It shows us how we are currently seeing, choosing, and orienting ourselves. In that sense, the Tarot works alchemically not by adding power, but by reorganising perception.

This is why the Tarot de Marseille, in particular, lends itself so well to Conscious Craft. It does not spoon-feed meaning. It withholds just enough to force responsibility back onto the reader. Attention must be trained. Choice must be owned.

That, in itself, is a form of ethical magic.

A simple gatekeeping practice

Before any magical working, you can use the Tarot in its most distilled form — not as divination, but as diagnosis. I suggest using only the Majors for this exercise.

Shuffle slowly. Do not formulate a question.
Ask inwardly:

From which level of self does this desire arise?

Draw one card only.

Do not interpret it immediately. Instead, notice your response.

Do you feel urgency or spaciousness?
Defensiveness or curiosity?
Pressure — or quiet alignment?

The card is not answering your desire; it is revealing the state of consciousness behind it.

If urgency dominates, the work is inward.
If spaciousness is present, action may follow.

Conscious Craft as an ethical stance

Conscious Craft rests on a quiet vow:

I will not use symbol, spirit, or ritual to avoid my own development.

This does not mean refusing action. It means refusing spiritual bypassing.

Desire arising from the ego is not “wrong”. It is simply raw material. In alchemical terms, it is prima materia. The danger is not ego-desire itself, but acting it out unconsciously — trying to change reality so we do not have to change.

Conscious Craft works on the desire first.

The Tarot as a map of consciousness

Seen this way, the Major Arcana describe states of orientation — moments when awareness reorganises itself. The Minor Arcana show how those orientations express themselves through energy, habit, pattern, and behaviour.

Different authors assign different meanings because they have done the work. Their systems are not rules to be copied, but evidence of attention lived over time.

The real alchemy does not come from inheriting correspondences.
It comes from earning perception.

I’ve been sitting with a question that feels increasingly relevant the longer I work with Tarot de Marseille:

Does it hold the moral arc more securely than the Rider–Waite–Smith?

Not morality in a moralising sense. But morality in its older meaning — an ordering principle that keeps the human being oriented within limits. A structure that holds even when feelings run high.

More and more, it seems to me that it does.

Not only because of historical lineages, but because of how the TdM behaves in practice — how it shapes attention, responsibility, and restraint.

Someone once put it this way:

The Tarot de Marseille shows us how to navigate the abyss.
The Rider–Waite–Smith shows us how to decorate it.

This may sound provocative. But the longer I sit with it, the more accurate it feels.

Structure and Orientation

The Tarot de Marseille does not invite immersion.

Its images do not narrate inner states or emotional journeys. They do not rush to explain themselves or resolve tension on our behalf. The cards stand in relation to one another, intact, requiring engagement rather than identification.

Meaning arises between the cards, not inside them.

The Rider–Waite–Smith takes a different approach. Meaning is interiorised. The image pulls us inward. Emotions and psychospiritual experiences become the primary sites of interpretation.

That shift has its strengths. But it also changes the moral metaphysics of the Tarot itself. When meaning is primarily internal, the system relies on resonance alone to maintain balance. Without structure, depth can slip into drift.

The Ethics of Restraint

One of the quiet strengths of the Tarot de Marseille is its refusal to complete the picture for us.

The images are deliberately sparse. They do not tell us what to feel. They do not reward emotional escalation. They leave space — and that space matters.

Distance is not a lack. It is a form of ethics.

It prevents total identification. It keeps the reader in dialogue with form rather than absorbed by experience. You do not internalise the card; you meet it.

This distinction matters in a culture where feeling deeply is often confused with the thing felt being inherently good, true, or worthy of allegiance. Intensity is treated as proof. Emotional pull becomes moral weight.

But depth of feeling tells us how strongly something is experienced, not whether it is sound. Immersion amplifies sensation; it does not guarantee clarity. Without restraint, intensity becomes easy to manipulate.

The Tarot de Marseille does not reject feeling, but it refuses to let feeling run the show.

A Small Change That Reveals a Larger Shift

This difference becomes especially clear when we look at a well-known intervention by the Golden Dawn: the swapping of Strength and Justice in the Major Arcana.

In the Tarot de Marseille, Justice sits at VIII and Strength at XI. The sequence stands on its own terms. It does not attempt to mirror the zodiac or justify itself cosmically.

The Golden Dawn reversed the order so that Strength aligned with Leo and Justice with Libra, creating a neater correspondence with the Wheel of the Zodiac. On paper, the logic is elegant. Symbolically, however, something else is revealed.

The cards were moved to serve a system of correspondences — perhaps consciously or not, to compensate for a loss of external order.

This is the broader pattern I’m pointing to. Tarot becomes something that must be adjusted to fit a framework, rather than a structure that holds regardless of whether it flatters our models.

The Marseille sequence does not explain itself—neither does life.
