This week offers a powerful opportunity to recalibrate. What is worth protecting? What deserves your care? And what might become possible if you trusted that growth is already happening, even if it doesn’t look the way you imagined? Let’s discuss.

For the first few days of the week, Venus in Leo bops around, doing the absolute most. First, Venus forms a lovely sextile with Uranus, inviting you to push the envelope. Venus in Leo craves boldness, authenticity, and attention, while Uranus in Gemini brings surprise, experimentation, and delightfully strange twists and turns wherever it goes. Together, this energy invites you to stop being so palatable. The people who truly resonate with you are not looking for your polished performance—they’re looking for your actual personality. Unexpected chemistry, unusual invitations, spontaneous plans, and random moments of inspiration will be arriving out of thin air. This is especially supportive energy for creative risks, aesthetic reinventions, and reconnecting to parts of yourself that have felt dormant.

Next, Venus trines Neptune in Aries, sparking dreamy, romantic, imaginative energy—but like all Neptune transits, discernment matters. Neptune is delulu, which is often the solulu, but can also lead to a booboo if we can’t separate fact from fiction. Suffice it to say, the real magic will arrive through beauty, music, creativity, spirituality, and stunning synchronicities (we call these TANC — there are no coincidences).

But then, Venus forms an opposition to Pluto, the planet of transformation. So come Wednesday, be sure to hold onto your cute little sun hat. Venus opposite Pluto can stir up power struggles, jealousy, obsession, old wounds, possessiveness, and uncomfortable truths around intimacy. Sometimes this transit reveals where we’ve confused control with love, intensity with closeness, or longing with compatibility. For some, this transit may bring a meaningful confrontation or an honest conversation that changes the dynamic entirely. For others, it may simply reveal an emotional pattern that has been running the show for far too long. Either way, what comes up now is trying to teach you something important about your own shadow, so pay attention.

Speaking of healing!!!! Chiron is entering Taurus this week for the first time in 50 years, and this is major!!! Truly major!!! Chiron, the quasi-comet (it’s actually classified as a “centaur”) associated with healing, mentorship, and our deepest wounds, enters Taurus for the first time since the 1970s, beginning an entirely new seven-year story—and marking a massive turning point in our individual and collective healing.

Since 2018, Chiron in Aries has pushed us to examine identity, courage, autonomy, and what it means to advocate for ourselves. But Taurus shifts the focus toward stability, safety, value, embodiment, trust, and survival. Where do you still feel fundamentally unsafe? Where have scarcity, insecurity, grief, or instability shaped your relationship with yourself? Chiron in Taurus reminds us that healing is not just emotional or intellectual—it is physical. It lives in the nervous system, the body, our relationship to rest, pleasure, food, finances, boundaries, and belonging. It lives in our relationship to nature, itself. This transit teaches us that we do not have to earn our worth; it’s our birthright. And while the next seven-years may expose where healing is needed, they also offer the opportunity to build something more sustainable in its place.

The following day, the North and South Nodes of destiny square Uranus, which means—yes, expect the unexpected. Truly. This is one of those transits that can feel chaotic in the moment but strangely meaningful in retrospect. The Nodes of Fate represent our collective karmic direction, while Uranus is the great disruptor (the planet of rebellion, liberation, and sudden change). When these energies clash, detours happen. Surprises emerge. Things we thought were stable suddenly shift, and things we assumed were impossible suddenly become available. This may look like unexpected news, strange timing, abrupt endings, surprising beginnings, or moments that demand quick pivots. But disruption is not always destruction, you feel me? Sometimes the universe removes what no longer aligns because something better has the opportunity to blossom. TANC, babe. There Are No Coincidences.

Then, on Sunday, we celebrate Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the official beginning of Cancer season. Happy birthday, Cancer babies! And can I just say: I actually love that the Summer Solstice aligns with Cancer rather than Leo, because at first glance, it feels completely counterintuitive. You’d think the longest day of the year—maximum sunlight, maximum vitality, maximum solar power—would belong to Leo, the sign literally ruled by the Sun. Leo loves to shine. Leo is the spotlight. Leo is hot girl summer (gender neutral) personified. And yes, Leo absolutely sustains the heat of summer—but the beginning of summer? The threshold into it? That belongs to Cancer.

A water sign. Ruled by the Moon.

And to me, that is such tea! Because Cancer reminds us that before we create, before we shine, before we become fully expressed versions of ourselves, we need care. We need protection. We need nourishment. We need the Moon. We need a container sturdy enough to hold our becoming. Cancer is associated with the mother, the womb, intuition, emotional safety, home—the conditions that make life itself possible. And I think Summer Solstice teaches us that abundance isn’t just brightness. Abundance is having enough support, enough spaciousness, enough time in the day to actually live.

Honestly, this is something I really learned through parenting. One of the deepest realizations motherhood brought me is that time is the ultimate abundance. Enough daylight to take care of your children and still maybe, somehow, take care of yourself. To go outside, to dine without rushing, to let life unfold. In summer, the Sun becomes a co-parent, and—in that way—almost functions as mother Moon herself. The longer days give us more room to live. And when you flip it on its head and think about Winter Solstice (the start of Capricorn season, ruled by Saturn) you meet the opposite lesson: contraction. Scarcity. The awareness that time is fleeting. Saturn governs limits. But the Moon, in her own way, teaches abundance through rhythm, care, and continuity.

And this actually brings me to one of my favorite spiritual texts of all time: the Bhagavad Gita, which I studied last year during my yoga teacher training. The story begins with a crisis: Arjuna, a warrior prince, stands frozen on the battlefield, completely overwhelmed by the impossible task ahead of him. He doesn’t know what to do. He is terrified, heartbroken, uncertain. And before any action happens—before the war begins—time seems to stop. Suspended in this threshold moment, Arjuna begins a conversation with Krishna about duty, fear, divinity, meaning, and how to move forward when everything feels impossible. “Solstice” literally means sun standing still—a cosmic pause. A breath held between what was and what comes next, so my working hypothesis is that this story is actually anchored around Summer Solstice.

What’s more, this conversation actually occurs while Arjuna is standing in his chariot. And if you know tarot, you know where I’m going with this: The Chariot is the Cancer card. TANC, babe. There Are No Coincidences. Because The Chariot isn’t just about force or momentum—it’s about the vessel that carries us forward. The thing that holds us while we become. The thing that helps us move through fear. The thing sturdy enough to carry transformation.

And this year, that lesson feels especially potent because just hours after the Sun enters Cancer, it forms a sextile to Chiron, newly entered into Taurus. Because Chiron in Taurus is teaching us that healing isn’t abstract—it lives in the body. And a sextile is supportive energy—an opening, a conversation, perhaps one with the universe or God or the divine itself?

We are not meant to create from depletion. We are not meant to push ourselves into becoming through force alone. Even the Sun—at its brightest—begins Cancer season by asking us to tend to the conditions that make growth possible.

So as we enter this Solstice portal, I really want you to ask yourself: what do you need in order to create? What care, protection, nourishment, or spaciousness would actually allow you to grow into the next version of yourself? Because maximum sunlight isn’t just about doing more. It’s about finally having enough illumination to see the path forward—and enough time to actually walk it.

As mentioned, TODAY, Venus (the planet of love, beauty, and values) links up with Jupiter (representing fortune, expansion, and opportunity) in Cancer, and baby… yes, yes, yes! This is just what we needed. This is an incredibly exciting connection: Venus and Jupiter are considered the two benefics in traditional astrology: Venus, closer to our planet and therefore associated with day-to-day things is the “lesser benefic”, while Jupiter—further out in the solar system and illuminating large-scale narratives—is the “greater benefic.” Put them together in Cancer—where Jupiter is exalted and feeling particularly generous (for only a few more weeks!)—and suddenly abundance is abound!

We tend to think about abundance as money, but the Cancer archetype—and, specifically, Jupiter in Cancer—asks us to consider all the manifestations of abundance. What about an abundance of love? An abundance of pleasure? An abundance of time? Going beyond wealth, this is a blessed opportunity to consider what makes you feel most supported, most held, most protected. How can you actively offer that to yourself right now, beneath this enchanted sky? What would it look like to rearrange your life around the things that make you feel the most fulfilled? How can you embody this abundance?

The truth is, that if if you’ve been twiddling your thumbs, waiting for “perfect” conditions before you let yourself experience joy and ease… well, honey, you may be waiting a very long time. This, right now, is the moment. Likewise, the smooch from Venus and Jupiter want us to celebrate all the ways we can give and receive bounty. It can look like affection. It can look like emotional support. It can look like play… just for the sake of fun. Or maybe—as a precursor to some of the astrology following close behind—it’s about embracing opportunity to shift our perspective. Change is also a gift!

Tomorrow, Mercury (the planet of communication and cognition) squares stoic Saturn, which is a tap on the shoulder like—“okay, but what are you actually doing here?” That’s fine! Mercury is also in Cancer right now, which means it doesn’t just want intellectual understanding, it also needs genuine emotional connection. In dialogue with Saturn in Aries, conversations may feel a bit serious, because Saturn (the master builder) wants us to scale what’s sustainable. So if you feel a bit tripped up by your big dreams mid-week, don’t worry—it doesn’t mean you should give up! In fact, bit of push-back may help you look at a situation from a new point of view, and address key variables that had been otherwise overlooked. This is an opportunity to take your planning even further.

Then, on Friday, we get one of those strange little astrological moments that we can’t really make any predictions around—because the entire nature of the transit is to expect the unexpected! Uranus in Gemini squares the North Node in Pisces, yielding surprise plot twists, unexpected news, and sudden realizations. If something changes quickly, or an opportunity—or even a disruption—appears out of nowhere, pay attention! TANC (There Are No Coincidences), so stay curious about what unfolds, especially if something catches you off guard. This is important!

Next, Saturday (June 13) brings a little emotional tenderness as Venus squares Chiron, the wounded healer. We’ll be talking a lot about Chiron in the days ahead (because it’s about to move into Taurus for the first time in 50-years…), but for now, know that this connection may expose how you’ve been under-loved, under-valued, or settling for crumbs when you asked for the whole cake! But perhaps healing begins when you finally recognize what’s missing? There may be an inevitable sadness around that, but also the warm wisdom of trusting your evolution.

But then! Venus enters Leo later that morning, and it’s a vibe shift of epic proportions. Now, Venus is wearing stilettos, teasing out its hair, and choreographing a grand entrance: Venus has always been that bitch, but now she’s gone full diva. It’s giving fierce! It’s giving face! It’s giving don’t fuck with me! Venus in Leo understands the deep spirituality of adornment, celebration, creativity, and demanding your worth, unapologetically. For the next few weeks, Venus wants us to find our place in the Sun—fittingly, since Leo is ruled by the Sun.

And, perhaps most importantly, Venus entering Leo is also setting the stage for another massive happening astro album drop later this month: Jupiter’s highly anticipated entry into Leo. With Venus warming up the proverbial room, pay attention to the stories, narratives, and energy that you encounter over the next few weeks. What begins now may become a much larger story in the months ahead. Namely, tune into what lights you up, makes you feel fabulous, and gets you excited again. That’s exactly what we’ll want to double-down on over the next 12-months!

If you’ve been feeling a bit like you’re between versions of yourself—no longer who you were, but not entirely sure who you’re becoming—that’s perfect! You’re actually right on schedule! I’ve been saying that the massive changes in the first half of the year have been so vast and long-term, that these cosmic shifts have mostly manifested as strange tremors and vibrations. But as we step into June, the astrology of the week ahead offers a glimpse into what’s to come.

At the very top of the week, Mercury enters Cancer, immediately changing the social-emotional atmosphere. Mercury, of course, governs communication, cognition, and how we process information. Over the past few weeks, Mercury has been moving through Gemini—one of its home signs—where things have felt fast-moving, overstimulating, and a little all over the place. Gemini Mercury loves information. It loves options! It loves texting 6 people at once while listening to a podcast at 1.5 speed! Absolute torture for my Virgo Mercury brain, but that’s okay!!

But now with Mercury shifting into Cancer, we’re all invited to slow down.

As the first water sign of the zodiac, Cancer introduces us to feeling. This sign is deeply connected to memory, protection, and emotional safety—so when Mercury enters Cancer, conversations become more personal, vulnerable, and… well, maybe a little less direct (after all, crabs do walk on their sides). Suddenly, we’re no longer interested in talking just to fill space: we want need to feel understood.

And this becomes especially relevant on Wednesday, when Mercury squares Neptune, our celestial fog machine. Neptune governs illusion, delusions, spirituality, dreams, intuition, imagination—just, you know all the most abstract concepts. It also governs projection, confusion, fantasy, and projecting whatever we want onto a situation, facts be damned!!!

Because this aspect occurs between Mercury in emotional Cancer and Neptune in fiery Aries, don’t be surprised if you end up with strong convictions about something based on vibes alone. But—while we need to be careful about the social implications of this aspect—it also has the potential to deliver incredible manifestation magic. It’s truly an ideal backdrop for creative expression, and since the universe loves to speak in symbols (because TANC, There Are No Coincidences), be sure to pay attention to patterns, themes, and repetition. Whatever is trying to get your attention is doing it very discreetly… but once you start noticing, you’re going to see it everywhere. What will it be!??!!

Also this week, and separate from our Mercury story (even though Gemini will always make things Mercury-based… I digress!), the Sun in Gemini forms a delightful sextile to Saturn in Aries. Saturn gets such a bad reputation (for plenty of good reasons tbh), but—when well-aspected—Saturn is THEE planet that helps us create the lives we want to live. Saturn governs discipline, commitment, structure, and long-term thinking. It asks hard questions, sure, but we would be lost without the rubric. So what are you building right now? What deserves your effort? What future feels most aligned with your soul’s path?

I know most of you are tired! I know some of you feel discouraged! I know some of you are wondering whether all this effort is actually leading somewhere meaningful! Trust me—it is. I’m never wrong. And this week invites you to trust the process a little more. Stay open to signs, symbols, and synchronicities. And most importantly—keep showing up for your future self and your inner-child (because time is circular, and those versions are of and one the same). A Blue Moon is the second Full Moon in a singular calendar month (usually we just have one!). While Blue Moons belong more to folklore and the Farmer’s Almanac than astrology, we humble witches will never pass up a mystical portal! Two Full Moons within the same month function as powerful archetypical bookends. In this case, the month of May began with deep, emotional excavation during the Scorpio Full Moon. Many of us had to confront fear, insecurity, grief, and disappointment. But now, this Sagittarius lunation is inviting us to finally emerge from the underworld and remember that life is still meant to be lived.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck, fortune, and abundance, which means Jupiter—still in its exaltation in Cancer (a sign ruled by the Moon)—is calling the shots. It’s a Moon’s Moon, baby! Jupiter in Cancer just happens to be one of the most fertile placements in astrology, so it’s time to nurture your desires and cultivate the abundance that already lives within you.

But how, exactly, will the Moon help you do this? Through data (Gemini) and truth (Sagittarius). The Sun in Gemini asks questions, while the Moon in Sagittarius offers perspective. Together, this electric opposition forms an axis devoted to storytelling. What narratives do you tell yourself about what you can and can’t do? About what’s holding you back? About why you haven’t just done the damn thing yet? What excuses are you making for yourself?

This Full Moon asks you to rewrite those stories. Give yourself permission to believe in your potential. Consider all of the reasons you can and will achieve your goals. Have confidence in yourself. Think big. Explore a new path. Venture into uncharted territory.

And because this Full Moon is receiving support from Saturn (the planet of responsibility), Neptune (the planet of dreams), and Pluto (the planet of transformation), it facilitates long-lasting growth and evolution. Pluto gives you the power to let go and begin again, Neptune invites you to dream, and Saturn provides you with the structure needed to make your vision a reality.

The first half of 2026 has delivered plot twist after plot twist—moments of exhilaration, moments of heartbreak, and moments of staring into the abyss thinking, okay wow, what the fuck. We’ve lived, laughed, loved all the way to the second half of the year… but honey!!!! I finally have very good news: the astrology of this week is yeeting us into a different timeline. For real.

We are building toward a Full Moon in Sagittarius on Sunday, May 31, which also happens to be a Blue Moon—the second Full Moon in a calendar month. And while Blue Moons belong more to folklore and the Farmer’s Almanac than traditional astrology, this humble astrologer knows they still matter! Because two Full Moons within the same month function as powerful archetypical bookends. In this case, the month of May began with deep emotional excavation during the Scorpio Full Moon (which I dubbed “springtime Halloween”)—and it was, in fact, scary. But now, this Sagittarius lunation is inviting us to finally emerge from underworld and remember that life is still meant to be lived. Wake up! You’re still here!!!

But before we can access the hope, there’s a bit of pressure at the top of the week we’ll need to navigate.

Early Tuesday morning, Mars in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius. Mars is the planet of action, conflict, and raw life force. Pluto governs transformation, psychological depth, and regeneration. Historically, hard aspects between Mars and Pluto are associated with power struggles, confrontations, and aggression. In mythology, Mars (or Ares) acts instinctively; Pluto (or Hades) rules the unseen realm beneath appearances. So when these two planets clash, we often encounter the tension between impulse and evolution: the part of ourselves desperate to move forward versus the deeper truth asking whether we’re moving in the right direction at all.

What’s more, Mars is currently in Taurus, a sign where it traditionally struggles. Mars wants speed, but Taurus values patience. Mars wants immediate action, but Taurus is invested in embodiment, which just inherently benefits from slowness. Mars in Taurus wonders if we can actually sustain the pace we’ve been moving? Are we focused on pursuing things that truly matter—that are going to replenish us mind, body, spirit?

Meanwhile, Pluto in Aquarius is radically restructuring the systems, communities, and future visions we’ve long taken for granted. So this week may reveal where we’ve been exhausting ourselves to maintain situations that have already expired—whether that be emotionally, professionally, romantically, or spiritually. What are you gripping so tightly right now that you have actually squeezed too hard… and the whole thing has now… deflated?

The shadow expressions of Taurus and Aquarius (both fixed signs) is stubbornness. But neither Mars nor Pluto is interested in permanence; in fact, both of these aggro-coded planets are prepared to ignite change in order to reach the bigger-picture goals. Likewise, they remind us that transformation arrives whether we volunteer for it or not—and this week may offer profound awareness around what you are ready to release in order to create space for something larger.

By Tuesday afternoon, the Sun in Gemini forms a harmonious trine to Pluto in Aquarius, and suddenly that intensity becomes productive. Gemini season is already moving us toward curiosity, communication, and experimentation; Gemini is ruled by Mercury, after all, so this sign is fundamentally concerned with synthesizing our observations, big and small.

I always think Gemini gets unfairly stereotyped as shallow when, in reality, Gemini is one of the zodiac’s greatest intellectual investigators. Gemini wants context! Gemini wants options! Gemini wants to understand why things are the way they are! God forbid we search for meaning in the mundane! So pay attention to recurring themes, repeating symbolism, or alluring storylines that reemerge after a period of dormancy. The universe speaks through patterns, and Pluto in Aquarius’ mastery is empowering us to follow the tiny threads within the greater fabric of reality.

Then, late Thursday evening, Venus in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries, introducing a more emotionally reflective tone. Venus governs beauty, values, and worth and Cancer—ruled by the Moon—is deeply concerned with security, memory, and belonging. Venus in Cancer craves tenderness. Emotional safety. Comfort food. A follow up text to make sure you got home safely!!!

Of course—because it’s a 90º tough square—Saturn in Aries complicates the story… in ways that are ultimately constructive, but may be a bit triggering in the moment. Saturn represents responsibility, structure, commitment, accountability, and long-term maturation. And when Venus and Saturn form a square, relational questions emerge. What do you actually need in order to feel supported? Where have you confused caretaking with reciprocity? Are your closest relationships evolving alongside the person you are becoming?

Then, on Sunday—tadaaaa!!!—we arrive at the Full Moon in Sagittarius at 9°, and honey, this is where the energy opens up.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck, fortune, and abundance, which means Jupiter—still in its exaltation in Cancer (a sign ruled by the Moon)—is calling the shots. It’s a Moon’s Moon, baby! As Gemini gathers information, Sagittarius searches for truth: the Sun in Gemini asks questions, while the Moon in Sagittarius offers perspective. Together, this electric opposition form an axis devoted to storytelling—the narratives we’ve been telling ourselves, and the narratives we could tell ourselves, if only we give ourselves permission to expand.

And after everything May yielded (phewwwww), this Full Moon is going to feel… incredibly lovely. Since the Scorpio Full Moon at the very beginning of the month, many of us have confronted fears, insecurities, grief, disappointments, and realities we ABSOLUTELY would have preferred to avoid! This Full Moon in Sagittarius, thankfully, delivers very different marching orders.

Okay, diva, you survived. What now?

And because this Full Moon receives supportive aspects from both Saturn and Pluto, there is tremendous stability beneath the momentum. Gen Z be damned. this is not reckless, abject optimism—it’s hope earned through resilience! You are choosing to move forward because you’ve been to hell! You’ve seen how bad things can get, and any moment you’re not in that space—whether an emotional or environmental one—is a blessing. Don’t just consider yourself lucky, claim it as an orientation!

Finally, later Sunday evening, Mercury at 29° Gemini sextiles Chiron at 29° Aries, offering one final revelation before we step into June. 29º—what astrologers refer to as the anaretic degree—carries heightened urgency, culmination, and karmic significance, so conversations may feel deeply meaningful under this sky. And perhaps that’s the real invitation of this week is to stop assuming that anything is set in stone. Your fate hasn’t been sealed, baby. So keep going. Okay? Okay!!!

Can you believe Taurus Season is coming to a close?!!! Where’s 2026 going!? Thankfully, we still have 6+ months to step into these amazing, life-changing portals… and I’m hosting a Manifestation Workshop in the Constellation Club this Thursday, May 21 to help us reboot our magical practices for the second half of the year. At the very top of the week, within hours of each other, Mars moves into Taurus and Venus enters Cancer, immediately changing the emotional landscape. Mars—the planet of action, drive, conflict, ambition, and desire—has spent the past several weeks in Aries, one of its home signs. It’s been pushing us out of our comfort zone, which is great! But now we’re exhausted, emotionally fried, and perhaps even a bit out of touch with our true intentions. What do we actually want? But Mars entering Taurus is an invitation to recalibrate our relationship with momentum entirely. And we need that!

Alas, Mars doesn’t particularly love being in Taurus. Traditionally, this placement is considered difficult (Mars is in its detriment here) because Taurus slows Mars down, and Mars breaks for no one!!! Taurus wants patience. Taurus wants steadiness. Taurus wants to stop and ask, “Can I actually sustain this?” Meanwhile Mars is pacing around the room yelling, “MOVE MOVE MOVE!” But this tension may actually become one of the greatest gifts of the week, because how many times have you rushed something… only to realize that the journey was the destination? What in your life has been moving so quickly that you haven’t actually stopped to ask whether it’s working for you? Mars in Taurus demands that we stop and smell the roses, which is a practice in presence. And that’s exactly where we need to be.

At the very same time, Venus—the planet of love, beauty, values, and indulgence—glides into Cancer, yielding a very different connection to care. Venus in Cancer is deeply sentimental, deeply intuitive, deeply invested in connection that feels safe. This transit has major Nana’s beach house energy. Homemade biscuits. Tea at the kitchen counter. Little shells collected in bowls. It’s giving “functional, well-adapted, emotionally-supportive family”—we don’t know her, but we love to see it!

And because Venus immediately forms a delightful sextile with Mars, the week opens with sweetness, chemistry, and tender affection. There’s something really beautiful about this astrology because it reminds us that softness and desire are not opposing forces.; sometimes the bravest thing you can do is admit you care. So whether you’re lending the shoulder to cry on (or you’re the one crying on a shoulder), don’t be afraid to get a little vulnerable in the days ahead. Support is a beautiful thing!

Then, Mercury sextiles Neptune, and suddenly your imagination comes online. Your dreams feel vivid! Your ideas, expansive! Mercury in Gemini already moves quickly, but Neptune adds magic to the mix. The problem, of course, is that Neptune cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, which is gorgeous creatively… but occasionally disastrous.

By Tuesday evening, Mercury trines Pluto, deepening our conversations. Gemini gets unfairly stereotyped as surface-level because people mistake curiosity for avoidance. It’s true that Gemini wants to collect information… but only because Gemini genuinely wants to understand! Is that a crime!!??! And because Pluto in Aquarius will be adding psychological depth to the equation, we’ll all be tapping into our Nancy Drew / Supernatural Detective energy. J’adore.

And then, tada!!! By Wednesday, Gemini season officially begins—happy solar returns to our sexxxxiiiiiii little twins! It’s giving the The Man Show! (Does anyone remember that show? Isn’t it crazy that Jimmy Kimmel has seemed to divorce that misogynistic disaster entirely from his legacy? I digress!) Gemini is the first air sign of the zodiac, which means this is our first encounter with language, ideas, social connection, communication, and curiosity itself.

I’ve been thinking of Gemini as the ultimate pre-schooler: Tiny humans hot-gossing about who took too long on the swings. Blurting out inappropriate questions about someone’s poopy diaper. Inadvertently hurting each other’s feelings as we innocently figure out the social norms and learn how to read the room. Gemini energy is feral social-emotional learning—and a good reminder that part of our connection demands a certain level of experimentation. Even when we fuck up, that’s part of the process!

This week feels like standing in the middle of a lush garden right after a thunderstorm. The soil is rich. The air smells alive. There’s electricity moving through the atmosphere, but there’s also growth happening everywhere at once. Budding. Blooming. Becoming. And with this New Moon in Taurus arriving alongside some of the most mentally stimulating astrology we’ve seen in weeks, the energy is asking us to get very intentional about what we’re cultivating—materially, emotionally, creatively. Because honey, whatever you’re feeding right now? It’s growing!!!! It’s giving James and the Giant Peach, okay!?!!

The entire week builds toward Saturday’s New Moon in Taurus, and this lunation is gorgeous. Truly gorgeous. Taurus is the first Earth sign of the zodiac, which means it’s our first encounter with embodiment. With physical reality. With appetite. With pleasure. With desire. Taurus teaches us that spirituality is not separate from the material world—it exists inside of it. Through the body. Through the senses. Through touch, taste, beauty, comfort, ritual, consistency. Through treating yourself with reverence. And maybe that’s the real question this New Moon is asking all of us: are you treating yourself like someone whose life is valuable? Because it is.

You understand something differently. You realize what’s worth your energy and what absolutely is not. And in Taurus, this clarity becomes incredibly practical. We’re talking about values. Boundaries. Money. Time. Energy. Self-respect. Words are wands, baby. And this week, your internal dialogue is shaping reality very quickly.

And then Sunday completely changes the pace.

Sooooo… are you ready for a stressful, annoying, high-pressure week? Of course not! But maybe you actually will appreciate some of the tense energy over the next few days, because it’s going to help you get things done… like, in a really big way.

This week’s astrology is giving pressure cooker, but before you turn into a soft stew, let’s be clear: sometimes we need the push. Pressure lights the fire, exposes the problems, and encourages us to find the words we need to stand up for ourselves.

At the top of the week, Mars in Aries squares Jupiter in Cancer on Monday, May 4, and that’s as intense as it gets. Mars—in its domicile in fiery Aries—is action, aggression, desire, conflict, heat, momentum. Jupiter—in its exaltation in bountiful Cancer—expands whatever it touches. So when these two planets clash through a square, everything gets louder: reactions, confidence, ego, defensiveness, ambition, irritability, dramatic declarations. You may feel like you need to act immediately, prove yourself immediately, protect yourself immediately, or be the best immediately. But it’s only Monday, baby. We’re all just waking up????

Mars in Aries wants agency. Jupiter in Cancer wants safety. Together, this square asks: What are you fighting for, and is that fight actually protecting you? Or are you hysterical because it’s historical? This is excellent energy for courage, movement, and taking bold action—but also bigger perspective. Yes, advocate for yourself. Yes, take the risk. Yes, find your bravery. But don’t confuse urgency with truth.

Then, on Tuesday, May 5, Mercury in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius, and the plot thickens. Mercury is communication, language, perception, thinking, and information. Pluto is the basement, the locked drawer, the secret power dynamic, the hidden motive. When Mercury squares Pluto, conversations get intense. Words carry weight. Subtext rises to the top, and hijacks the entire plot line. You may find yourself fixating on something someone said, rereading the same message 400 times, or suddenly realizing that a situation has way more layers than you initially understood.

This is not the best day for forcing… well, anything at all. Mercury-Pluto can be incredibly revealing, but it can also become mentally consuming. So use this energy for research, truth-telling, strategy, therapy, shadow work, hard conversations, and getting honest with yourself about your own healing journey. Just remember: not every thought needs to become an interrogation. And not every feeling needs to be integrated. Tea.

On Wednesday, May 6, Pluto stations retrograde at 5º Aquarius, beginning its annual backward motion through the sign of Aquarius. Since Pluto settled into Aquarius at the end of 2024, we’ve been examining power on a personal and collective level. Now, as Pluto retrogrades, we begin to look inward: Where are you giving your power away? Where are you outsourcing your authenticity? Where are you conforming under the guise of being “free?”

This week, pay attention to where you’re being controlled, where you’re controlling, and how you can become a bit more aware of the push-and-pull of dynamics across every aspect of life.

And then, right before the week wraps, on Sunday, May 10, the Sun in Taurus sextiles Jupiter in Cancer, offering a gorgeous, generous, stabilizing finish to an otherwise intense week. The Sun is vitality, identity, confidence, and life force, and in a supportive transit, this aspect brings a little sweetness back into the mix. It reminds us that we can expand without combusting! We can grow in ways that feel nourishing! We can choose a future that actually supports our body, our home, our relationships, and our emotional life! So mote it be!

Speaking of flying… this week, Aliza flew back to Los Angeles with Sonesta Hotels to do birth chart readings at the Billboard Women in Music Awards! The astrology girls are taking over! She saw performances by Zara Larsson (Sagittarius!), Teyana Taylor (Sagittarius!), Tate McRae (Cancer!), and Kehlani (Taurus!). Obviously, Aliza thought about what everyone’s signs were the whole time—ANDDDDD she reflected on how so many pop stars are Sagittarius. This is one of Aliza’s absolute favorite phenomenons of all time.

You see, Zara and Teyana come from a long lineage of Sagittarius popstar,queens, including (but not limited to): Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Tina Turner, Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, the now disgraced Nicki Minaj, and we might as well throw the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne (RIP) in there too! Sag, we bow to you!!!!

On Friday, May 1, the Moon at 11° Scorpio faces off with the Sun at 11° Taurus, exposing the tension between what’s blooming and what’s decaying. In other words, this lunation is the liminal space between life and death. You either choose to transform, or you remain stuck repeating the same patterns…

By now, you may know that I refer to the Taurus-Scorpio axis as the “life-and-death axis.” Taurus is the body, the appetite, the pleasure, and the physical evidence of your life, while Scorpio is the dirt, the worms, the rot, the endings, and the alchemy that make new life possible.

Under the bright, probing light of this scorpionic Moon, whatever you’ve been hiding will emerge from the shadows and demand to be faced. Maybe it’s an old flame, an emotional debt, a deep sense of shame, or a soul-sucking power dynamic. No matter what comes to light, this is the moment you turn your pain into power.

But, to transform, you must leave a part of yourself behind. While painful, moving through grief is an essential part of your personal evolution. In grief, we discover what we love deeply, what truly matters to us, and where we want to devote our energy. Grief provides the gift of insight and perspective.

So, it’s time to pull out your magnifying glass. This Full Moon wants you to take a long, honest look at the entire ecosystem of your life—the good, the bad, and the ugly spooky—to distinguish the parasitic from the symbiotic. Remember, what looks good from the outside may not actually reflect what’s going on beneath the surface. Channel Scorpio’s investigative intensity to dig deep and venture into the shadows—leave no stone unturned.

This is where the process of release and renewal begins. While letting go is hard—even when you know it’s best for you—, it allows you to become something even more beautiful and powerful. You’re a phoenix rising from the ashes. A butterfly emerging from its cocoon. A snake shedding its skin.

The Scorpio-Taurus axis teaches us that where there’s death, there’s life. And this year, the Full Moon falls on the exact same day as Beltane (TANC!), an ancient fire festival celebrating fertility and abundance. So as you tend to the soil of your life—the muck, the decomposition, the release—know that you’re preparing an environment where incredible growth will flourish. It is only because of death that we fully appreciate the sweetness of being alive.
